A confused or unintelligible mixture of seemingly random words and phrases. Or in the DATM glossary… “95% of NickHudds posts”. Ahhh, but those 5%?!!

Hes done 10 seasons so if he was having one it should have been this summer. Doesnt happen often at all now so would be nice to acknowledge it,, maybe the money raised going to a charity ( Players certainly dont need it these days like they used to..doubt Hoggy will be buying a pub after he retires! ) I'm sure I read somewhere that testimonial money now HAS to go to charity/good causes. Maybe he wants to wait until he's finished playing and do it next summer?

Hoggy has averaged 30+ games a season in his ten years which is pretty remarkable considering some of the knocks he's picked up along the way.........I don't remember JD or NC having a testimonial game, the last one (for 10 year service) I think would be Steve Smith in 74'.

I can only remember Boothy's ( Did he do 10 years playing for us?? Didnt seem like it even over both spells) and a joint one for Peter Fletcher and Dick Taylor back in 1983 when Cloughy brought Forest up to play.

Wasn’t the most recent testimonial the one for Boothy? Yes and no. Boothy had a testimonial in 2006 but then Gerry Murphy had one in 2007.

I remember that night, didn't Mick Buxton play in a warm up match before Forest game?.......The 'Real' Champions of Europe at the time.

After checking. Jon Dyson 2001 V Man City. Yes it was Pre season. Think Pearce was City manager back then and they had Kinkladze and Goater amongst others playing.

That's the game I was trying to remember in a different thread about friendlies. Didn't realise it was for Boothy's testimonial. Pretty sure that's the last friendly I went to at home.

I've seen a lot of criticism aimed in his direction but thought he was superb again today. He gives his all for the team and I salute him

He has his bad games just like the rest of them but he deserves his plaudits today. He’ll rightly go down as a club legend and games like today are a big reason why, what a man

Another excellent performance from him today, long may it continue. A midfield of him, Rudoni & Wiles looks better balanced.

He just keeps doing it doesn't he? Yes, he's past his prime, but still more than worth his place in our side.
I'm always far more confident when I see his name on the team sheet.

Pound for pound the best signing we have made post WW2? Must be I read this and thought that's post match hyperbole but bearing in mind he has played for 10 years it's not a bad shout.

Yeah that’s what I am saying mate, probably our best signing for value for money post ww2, my granddad pre dates ww2 but Hogg overall is a 100% Town hero, , lads who have been going before me (1995 onwards ) might say different

It would be interesting to see Hogg/Bullock poll.
To my mind it should be 100% to Hogg but Bullock is seen as a legend probably from being the ‘hardman’ when allowed to be a bit harder and the Brentford penalty, this is no way a slight on Bullock but I genuinely don’t think there is a contest in terms of service, impact, quality etc!
I suppose I could just do the poll.
