We might need Hogg to drop into the back 3.

Lynch did leave due to the training times, sort of. In reality it was personal reasons that were very indirectly linked to that.

I get the feeling Hogg will be gone in January. Literally no explanation given as to the extent of his injury. My god do we need a leader right now.

We really need to hear some news on Hogg's injury it does seem we hear about everyone else but nothing really on Hogg, a full update is really needed, even if it is to end the romours of a fall out. The more time we dont hear anyhting the more chance of a fall out being completly correct.
If Hogg and MF have fallen out and he is not injured (not what i have heard however) then this needs sorting ASAP so he can play a part in the next 3 games before the break we just can not afford to have a player with Hoggs abilty / Experience missing from this battle. I dont care about any fall out and neither should MF or Hogg both of them want HTAFC to perform better and get out of this so please sort this out and / or give us a true answer on the injury.
I hope someone asks the question at the next press conference.

We might need Hogg to drop into the back 3. Hogg simply being asked to be in front of the centre halves and just cover across the central areas, whilst Kasumu gets up and down and camara gets to play a bit. Hogg doing what he is undoubedtly best at???

I want Hogg back but we all know he's getting older and slower and we need to have replacements ready - this spell is allowing others to learn the trade and hopefully Hogg will provide more guidance when he is back. Was it Lynch who didn't respond well to an increased training intensity when Wagner joined? or am I getting my periods in time wrong? You are right about Lynch. He put in a transfer request at the end of the 15/16 season. Wasn't part of it with Lynchy that he wanted to go back down south to be nearer his dad who'd been diagnosed with cancer.

You'd think being shite and wearing ugg boots would be enough! Best thing he ever did was that interview, simply because it made him easier to bomb out of the squad and focus the minds of the rest of the squad. We've had some dross here but good grief there can't have been many worse left backs here.

I hope someone asks the question at the next press conference. They can't really help it if people aren't listening. Fotheringham has given an update on Hogg's ongoing return from his calf issue every week since he went missing, and just last week when asked if Hogg and Anjorin specifically were close to a return, he said: “Not at all. You’re not likely to see them imminently and that’s unfortunate, but the medical staff are working hard with them, they’re monitoring it day by day, but I don’t see them being there in the near future."Which sounds like it's going to be after the World Cup break before we see either of them. We've got to get used to a different type of update, Corberan started out as a fitness coach, Wagner picked up a biology and sports science degree, they can talk comfortably about injuries and recovery. Fotheringham is not either of them. A week prior to that comment, he was asked about the so-called bust-up and replied... "It is absolutely ludicrous. The day after the game, we were actually off and me and Hoggy had a coffee together in the office and we were chatting when he was coming back in and everything like that." "What I would say is that Hogg, our captain, is a guy I looked at from the outset as a coach in Germany looking on on English football. "I really identified with him as a person, not only as a player because he plays with so much passion and energy and is a real leader and exactly what we need in this period. "What I am doing at the moment is showing focus on the group and that I have got to give them a good feeling going into games that they are capable of winning games and they are more than capable."
"We need to roll our sleeves and everyone has got to galvanise and push even closer together. That is why I find it ludicrous and absolutely amazing that people would make up stories about me.
"I am only three weeks in the door and not a guy to be raving and ranting at players. That's not my style. I am a positive guy and here to support."

Yep, on loan from Exeter in the early 1990s as I recall and also pretty terrible according to those who remember watching him play. I can't remember watching him at all TBH, even though I went to most home games at the time.

Probably worse than Davidson, at least the Aussie had a decently long throw if I recall correctly.

Does anyone know if this was to be Hoggs testimonial season and if so why he isn't having one? In this day and age we should celebrate a players loyalty. Seems poor if we don't.

I remember his testimonial being mentioned somewhere about a year ago. ( I think it could have been in the Examiner ) who suggested that Wagner’s promotion winning team would come together to celebrate Hogg’s 10 years. I’ve seen nothing since so you’d imagine it’s not happening before the start of the season. I agree though - it needs to be sorted. A player with his long service is rarely found these days.

Hes done 10 seasons so if he was having one it should have been this summer.
Doesnt happen often at all now so would be nice to acknowledge it,, maybe the money raised going to a charity ( Players certainly dont need it these days like they used to..doubt Hoggy will be buying a pub after he retires! )

I know with their pay etc they don't need it. But given loyalty etc he deserves it. I doubt there are many players out there who will do 10 years now at a club.

Craig Forsyth has just completed 10 years at Derby. They have designated one of the pre-season games as his testimonial, although I understand there will be other events as well - possibly raising money for charity.

I think we'll have one, I imagine we'll just wait until his last season where Hoggy is concerned, very much doubt he is going anywhere, so probably seems odd to have one and carry on playing.
Schindler did mention when he left that he would be back to see the fans for Hoggy's testimonial, so hopefully the instructions have been passed onto Kevin from Dean but I imagine plenty of others at the club will be calling for it when the time is right, fantastic servant and captain!
