As most of the other threads have descended into chaos about Ricky Gervais I thought I’d open a new one for this.
Steve Chicken says there are legs to this but hasn’t elaborated. Very hopeful of this one. Anyone else heard / know anything solid?
Barnsley fans on their board have dismissed it but more through “little old Town” than any knowledge.

Would be an excellent buy. Son plays in Barnsley league, loads of Barnsley fan parents ST holders and all reckon he is their best player by a mile.

He likes his yellow cards. 9 last season, 4 of those after the 90 minute mark.
If this is true it would mean the Man City lad isn't coming I guess.

Or that both are coming and are our CB pairing with Yuta at LB 🤔 Sounds like Pearson has a long term injury so will need to be replaced & we still haven't replaced Colwill with a LCB. Reckon both could be realistic options? Also Lees doesn’t look up to last seasons standards so far, unfortunately.

We could potentially have 3 players at the world cup again if we bring this lad in.
Helik - Poland Yuta - Japan Sorba - Wales

Hope this is true, as Michal Helik is a CB, with great physicality, would be a great signing for Town - UTT.

Yuta was supposedly the replacement for Toffolo according to the genuine ITKers on here. Think once we bring in a decent CB he'll be moved to LB.

Think once we bring in a decent CB he'll be moved to LB. I get that, and we were also looking to play 4 at the back at the time. Question is with a back 3, where does he go other than LCB? Also, isn't Helik right sided?

Personally I see Helik as the long term Lees replacement. He’s looked a bit off the pace this season (as has half the squad though), so hardly surprising we are looking at replacing the aging CB with someone in their prime.

Hopefully Helik is an upgrade on Lees, Pearson and REG. Based on what I've seen, I think he probably is. I rate him. Leaves us a bit heavily stocked in that position though, especially once Pearson gets back from injury. Hopefully Loick Ayina gets a loan too, because being 6th(?) in the pecking order for his position doesn't bode well for someone I understood to be a real prospect. Alternatively, are we going to just play people out of position? Right sided footballers' playing on the left is something you might have to do in an injury crisis but as a first choice option it seems like an odd choice. Last season's squad looked really well balanced. This year it doesn't.

I'm hopeful we'll bring in Mbete aswell to play as the left sided CB with Lees & Helik being the other two CBs?

I agree the squad does look unbalanced. Midfield surely we are short in there ?

My last post aged well, Lees with new deal through to 2025 😅 Surprised they've given him that long considering his age. With the new deals for Lees, Turton & Hogg, it doesn't bode well for any ambitions we might have, as none of these are PL standard.
