Maybe they’re waiting for Chris Wilder to be sacked up at Boro.

Sadly for me he has to go - straight away Even if we beat Cardiff I’d still sack him and use the international break to get a new guy in to have time with the players Best to do it today. Start the interviews and have a new guy in after the weekend. Rather than spend the international break doing interviews etc DS is a good guy but not suited to management I’m afraid If the club hasn't been sounding out a new manager behind the scenes, I'll be aghast. I may have to prepare to be aghast!

I'll be stunned if he's still in a job tomorrow, saying that I thought the same after Blackpool. I'm certainly not wasting my afternoon/evenings watching anymore of that shit until he's gone. Tonight’s crowd announced at just under 18k. Leave it out, there was a good 5k less than that there (loads of regulars round by us were a no-show tonight) and it’ll only get worse if this mess carries on. Kid for a quid on Saturday but I’d say that was child cruelty. true. But 4 of our 6 were missing for holidays no other reason.

I think that when the Examiner is questioning Schofield's managerial abilities... stating that "he is the wrong man for the job", there is only one outcome. A real shame and a poor appointment that may badly affect the promising career of a young coach. Perhaps, DH was advised to appoint him, in which case it was awful advice, or perhaps it was purely DH's decision to promote from within; either way, not good for the club.

Totally agree it takes a lot for the local paper to criticise and go against the club, its not in their best interests to do so. The problem here is that we have lost to 3 teams that will be down there, 2 at home. Despite playing poorly yesterday we should of had at least 3 goals so if this is us at our worst then I'd be fairly confident we can turn it round and pick up some results..... with a change in manager.

If Dean Hoyle really cares about this club then he should relieve Schofield of his duties today and get a coach in who can lead these players and have the ability to compete tactically against the opposition. Last night seeing players struggle against a very poor Wigan team was pitiful. One thing for sure if we are again going into Saturday’s fixture with Schofield in the dugout I will vote with my feet. Enough is enough!

Amazed how many of you are surprised we’re struggling
I said throughout last season if we didn’t go up we’d struggle given league would be much stronger, we’d likely lose O’Brien & Colwill and our post season rest / pre season training affected 4 weeks vs others by play offs & early season start - last season was an open goal of a weak league, a great squad with number of players at the peak they’d reach with us before moving on - which is why messing up the play off final (& officials) mattered so much
I always thought this would be a hard mid to lower half season
Add Carlos screwing us over 3 weeks before the season rather than after the play off final, losing Toffolo too & not replacing him, the recruitment team seemingly picking players out of a hat rather than where we needed them panicking at the end and throwing Schofield under the bus in at the deep end
We don’t have a squad to play 4 at the back or enough of a balance in midfield to do that, but don’t have wing backs to play 3 at the back (hoping Kesler-Hayden can grow into that role) - if we play a centre half / left back at left wing back and the definition of old school defender at right wing back we are never going to be a cohesive attacking unit - neither are going to get forward like Toffolo did. Recruitment a lot to answer here - squad unbalanced and appears no cohesive plan - Rudoni looks a great signing but we’re having to play him out of position given inadequacies elsewhere
That all points to worse than mid to lower half
But despite all that clearly 1 win in 8 isn’t enough - if they are going to make a change they need to do it quickly

I don't want Town lose and I certainly don't want us to be in this position.
Its been a tough ride since the play-off final. Carlos being tapped up and leaving us so near the start of the season made it difficult. The recruitment was slow and it seems we have gone for young with potential. Last season we had a better balance. So it isn't all Danny's fault, Bromby and Dean must take a huge portion of that blame.
Bromby
He can only work with the money at his disposal. In saying that this squad looks un-balanced. Why did we sign Boyle ? When we needed help now why have signed a striker that won't be available until xmas ? Why have we signed Mahoney, who hadn't played for 18 months, and just stuck him in the B team ? We have replaced Lewis and toffolo with a player that has potential (hasn't actually delivered yet in terms of goals and assists) and a left centre back (who we are told can play at left back- I disagree). We have no back-up as goalkeeper - only youngsters. Nicholls is out of form and it won't be long before one of those stray passes results in an opposition goal. Unbalanced with too many youngsters and not enough professionals.
Dean Has total control but still doesn't have all the shares, so we are told. The club needs to be subsidised by approx 10 million pound per year. (Lewis and toffs - this year). Why are we losing so much money ? Dean is at a crossroads. He needs to sell as I believe he has had enough and after so long who can blame him. He can't pick managers though, his last two have an appalling record.
Danny He looks and sounds out of his depth. His post match comments remind me of my Sunday league coach at Hunsworth ( sorry Mr.Ogden - who actually played under Shankley at town) laughable. "win together, lose together, "we had lots of chances", "the players can play out of position", "we responded well". I can't see a gameplay ? I can't see any pressing in packs - we did under Carlos. We never overload areas of the pitch. We barely shoot. We constantly lose possession - the other teams all seem physically stronger. Sadly, as he was a decent player for us, but its time he went.
As I have said at the top I really dont enjoy us being in this position. I remember going to watch the second leg of the play-off final in London with the southern terriers. What a great night sitting, singing and drinking with 100+ strangers. Thats why I watch Town for memories. These are not great memories and if we are honest we could all see it coming.

And the entertainment factor is null. If DH can’t read the room after last night we really have to vote with our feet and an empty stadium should do the trick. That said I fear the damage done is going to take some time to sort, regaining confidence as a team, undoing bizarre tactics and creating a plausible style of play, rebuilding relations with the fans - we may have already left it too late to recover this season even with the best manager money could buy. Not to mention potential squad deficiencies with concerns over our left back, soft static midfield, sulking winger and ageing out of form forwards. Amazing how quickly the positivity and togetherness from last season has been ripped apart. We know from experience that it can take years to rebuild. In fact it doesn’t come along very often at this club. I do wonder if Bromby needs to go with Schofield - he’s made a huge mistake. How he thought DS could make it is staggering. Jury is out on the summer signings too. We perhaps need a clean sweep. It’s doubtful any manager worth his salt would work under his controls.

Make no mistake this is already a genuine relegation battle. There's only 11 games before the WC break. Assuming the teams above the drop zone carry on at about 1 ppg, they'll be on 20 points by then. Anyone fancy us to get circa 17 points from 11 games, cos I don't. Which means we're highly likely in the bottom 3 at Xmas, as there's only a further 2 games by then. We're almost certainly not bottom now only because of Coventry's pitch.
We don't have time to fuck about. It's a marginally better start at this point than 19/20, although that was just on the cusp of turning, Cowley got 15 points from game 9-15. The difference is this time we're already adrift, in 19/20 as much as Cowley made it out to be a great escape about 5/6 teams started almost as badly.
We're currently an ill disciplined, unorganised rabble, which is eons away from last season. I can't decide whether the players are disillusioned with Schofield cos of him, or disillusioned with him indirectly cos he's not Carlos and is seen is the 'company man', but either way the end results the same. Sorba's tantrum at not getting a freekick for fuck all, or Holmes tantrum with the dugout almost certainly don't happen under Corberan's watch, even if the two players mentioned felt the same grievances.
Sadly, he has to go.

Perhaps, DH was advised to appoint him, in which case it was awful advice, or perhaps it was purely DH's decision to promote from within; either way, not good for the club. What a crap hand to be dealt to Danny. Taking over a squad at short notice with 3 of the best players gone, plus other regulars from last season, and replacements coming in who are mostly not Championship proven. A short pre-season window due to the playoffs and new players coming in dribs and drabs, some with injuries, added to the problems. Will Boyle coming in, not looking like a Championship defender, then being pushed out by two obvious starters in his position, both not match fit. If, as reported, the club tried to loan him out then he must be thoroughly demotivated. Add to that the expectation from last season and you can see what a poison chalice he has been handed. He may not be ready right now to get the results we all want but neither was Carlos when he started. They have a different style, which is to be expected, and Danny needs the senior pros to be helping get the other players firing properly. I think it is early days with the new signings and the poor results, plus some shit luck, won't have helped them to settle. I don't see how Danny can go back to being an assistant. Partly because his standing with the players, and his own pride, will have taken a huge knock. Also anyone coming in will bring their own assistant so that is at least one other coach gone, possibly two. For me this situation has been created by Hoyle and Bromby and they need to, unlike many supporters, have the balls to give Danny a proper chance, even if that risks us dropping to League 1. Whether they will shoulder that responsibility is an unknown at the moment, at least we haven't had the owners dreaded 'vote of confidence'. All we need is a couple of wins and confidence will rise. The back line we played last night were playing together for the first time, and we have had far too many combinations, mostly due to available players. They all need to gel and bed in properly. I, and I know I am in the minority, at least on here, hope Danny gets given a proper chance.

I went to bed last night assuming (dangerous game) he would be sacked immediately and we rebuild from today with a fresh perspective.
I was shocked he did the post match press conference. Didn’t even bother listening, it’ll be the same drivel as before.
This is an experiment gone completely wrong. We all saw it coming a mile off, yet here we are…continuing with this farce it seems. Action needs to be taken immediately, before it’s too late.

With Wagner and Corberan, you could see how they wanted to play and despite some poor results you could see the players had bought into their vision. Danny hasn't played a vision that the fans can see and the players look like they don't know the plan either.

Got to go now, but I think it's already too late. We're doomed! Forest fans probably thought the same. This is a good squad that just needs a bit of motivation and a plan. Drop Sorba as we’re only playing him for his set pieces and we know Nakayama can take a good one now, bring Pat Jones in and Rhodes for Ward.
