Think they've said it'll be about 18 months at the earliest. Your lot will be in by then anyway, so you dont need to worry. Everything will be milk and honey and it'll be me making stuff up about what they said or why theyre doing things. ;) In 3 yrs time they’ll still be walking around Westminster muttering things like… “WTF” “Boris did what… “ 😉

Fecking amateurs… Not even a mention of a cable car or monorail… www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65308511This isn’t for me. At some point we’ll crave to go back to the olden days of shitty stadiums and seats only for those who wish to pay a premium.

Is this another one of their initiatives that 'looks after the pyramid'. Is it bollocks, the usual self-interest from the PL. Bunch of fecking shysters, piss off to Europe and give football back to the fans... www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62965782Reads like a win - win for me. Big club reduces fixture congestion and hopefully field more competitive team as a result Small club has a better chance of progression in a "one off" (momentum, extra time/penalties etc) Better money deal offered to compensate for the loss of the replay The loss of replays all together will create more drama and a better spectacle overall. The argument against I suppose is potentially more teams being held to 120 mins plus pens. More players will be exhausted/injured for whatever their next game is. The lower league teams wont have the same medical staff and recovery ability of an elite team and given they already have a disadvantage of progressing through lower rounds first to even meet the big teams. Sometimes I do feel like it's them against the world though. Premier league already has 8 games less than the average football league. A full european calendar isn't that many more than that and you could argue they've bigger squads to deal with that pressure.

Everything is geared towards them retaining their hold on things. The introduction of an American football size bench of subs, plus the ability to use 5 of those.
It’s all by design…

That kind of money used to buy TWO 60k seated stadia!

I’m guessing the bulk of that is on the commercial side of the development as opposed to the increased capacity.
It’s a long time since I’ve driven close by to that area, so maybe it has become more of a leisure/shopping type place? I think when it was built it was purely focused on sport as opposed to the big Westfield shopping centre they built at Stratford as part of the Olympic stuff.
I’m not a big fan of sporting arenas becoming homogenised, but that seems to be the direction the big clubs in the PL are heading.

I don’t think they care too much about profit Slapps, some of this stuff is a massive ego trip, and £300m to the parent company is like you or I popping to Morrisons for the weekly shop.
(or Waitrose for yourself and your new location) 😉

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65399672I’m glad there are still some young lads like this and Rashford that don’t forget how fortunate they are. Modern football is probably worse for these young kids at academies, because the size of the prize is so much bigger than kids who were youth players in the 70’s & 80’s and before. I’d imagine there are parents with pound signs as well, hooked by the lure of their son or sons making it big and looking after them. I’ve no direct experience of this, but I wonder if all the clubs reinforce the message to some very young and vulnerable kids, that there’s a 99% or higher chance, that the best they’ll do is end up playing semi-pro. Very difficult I appreciate. Anyway, glad that he’s bringing some more attention to this.
