I remember her, thats a blast from the past, was on tv quite regular. Only comedienne from South Yorkshire, from about that era, that I could think of. I don’t want to derail this thread any further, but a quick Google of Marti Caine might surprise a few people. A brave woman, as well as a talented entertainer. |

I remember it well . Saw Bernard Manning (it was acceptable in the 70s) a couple of times there . Saw Lenny Henry as an up and coming 17 year-old . Someone else , a shit comedienne from south Yorkshire, can't remember her name. The place used to be rammed Thurs , Fri , sat night , coaches full of women from all over the north.. Only on a Sunday night , rest of the week was a gay bar . Sunday they came from all over for late night drinking. Now you tell me ... We're having a gang bang .. 🙂🙂 |

For the first time in 5 months, someone at Huddersfield Town has implied we have some tactics to play with The frustration is that we should have pushed ourselves out of the dotted already and be looking at Wigan as a game to cement our place above them and be clawing down others around us....Stoke's another huge game in midweek. We should have had 4 extra points in the last run of games, a win at Hull and a draw to Blackpool. Chicken, in an examiner article gave a stat of something like 4 games in the last 7 where we've taken the lead and then been unable to hold onto it. Psychologically it becomes a burden, second half to Blackpool we were tactically a mess. |

If your attention span will stretch that far he goes on to wish MF all the best and it's very obvious they didn't all hate him. He goes on to speak about MF's work ethic and desire to well for the club. When asked how everyone is holding up he's hardly going to come out and say 'wye aye man, we're that broken they've taken we're bootlaces off us.' |

You have to be a certain age for this, but his bloody name always made me think of the song Fotheringay, (Fairport Convention) and the band of the same name. Both of which of course had the wonderful Sandy Denny, what a marvellous voice she had, even if her middle name was "self destruct"
Plus of course I also had the hots for her. Folk rock at it's best, not something that crosses over successfully very often, but certainly Fairport Convention did, and to a lesser extent Fotheringay.
