I’ve heard Fotheringham is coming in as ‘First Team Coach’, with someone else as boss. Would fit the previous Wagner regime, where Andy Hughes was filling this position. So if the talk of Wagner having to come in on a short term deal is true then perhaps Fotheringham is coming in as the new continuity plan with Wagner leaving at the end of his short term contract? |

To be fair he could inspire like wagner did and I'll give him chance to speak, I don't really know much a out him, but sadly he has one chance we me and I reckon most of the supporters and the feeling I get is fail...... if we are looking for a young nobody, Narcís pèlach is that man, but inspirational, a leader and relatable, win his next game and the next geezer has no chance, the manager of the fans is chosen and his name is Narcís. |

If this amount of emotion and energy was put into supporting the team on a Saturday, folk might enjoy their weekend a bit more. As for the scottish bloke, could be quality if we seee him come in to support another man in charge. Fronts up to an interview before Hertha's first game under Magath last season as good old Felix had covid, can't knock him for how he handles it.

I'm not against appointing this guy, I read the BBC interview when it came out and thought he'd be an interesting option for a club with his coaching upbringing and learning from the continent. It's often mentioned that not enough English or British players go out onto the continent to play in the top leagues, so fair play to him for going out there as a coach to learn.
That being said, I felt he was an interesting option when the article came out, yes I still do, but I feel it would be an appointment best suited for a close season, so more that he should have been appointed in place of Schofield, not as a replacement a few months later. I feel the same if it was to be Carrick, Ferguson or Barry.
Now if he was to come in as a first team coach with the aim of taking over in the summer, would I be against it? Probably yeah, 80% anyway, we've tried that 'succession planning' twice in the last few years...it's failed, twice, would we be looking at a third time lucky?

2) He's shit

If he's the man then give him a chance before everybody turns on him. Yes it seems like a huge gamble but every managerial appointment is. Nobody is nailed on to come here and do well.
Wagner doesn't really sound like he wants or is able to move back to this country. No amount of foot stomping is likely to get him to leave his wife and kids.
Some other options like Carrick or Barry are not really any different to Fotheringham, nobody really knows.
People talk about big egos at the club then talk about wanting Sean Dyche ffs. Unrealistic for more than 1 reason but wages would be through the roof and the squad would need a complete revamp.
If people put forward viable options then fair enough but I really haven't seen many if any.
