Get the feeling the longer that this goes on the less chance it is Wagner's coming back ? Talks are still ongoing as others have said there really isn't a quick answer to it, Wagner wants to join but there are a domino of things to get through - he's who Hoyle wants but whether that happens remains to be seen. Just had lunch at Thai Sakon in town, where I happened to see Dean H and David who were talking through the final details, Dean spilled curry which splashed on Wagners patella, and was really distraught, looked like he thought he'd screwed the whole deal up. Turns out it was a Thai knee issue for David, so should all be announced in the next couple of days. |

When I come over for a game often stay in Bradford thought I'd be spoilt for choice there. How wrong I was. You want to try living in County Durham! They havent got a bloody clue what a decent curry is up here! Yet they still want to charge twice the price I ever paid down there. |

Don't know about Durham itself but for Gateshead area both Monsun and Spice Connection on Durham Road are good. Come off the A1 at the Angel, Durham Road takes you past the Angel heading towards Newcastle.
Slightly further out, near the Metro Centre is the Jashn which is the best one I've come across.

Call me a killjoy but how inconsistent are the standards on this forum. We have to have an annoying subboard to discuss transfer targets and rumours because it’s deemed almost ‘off-topic’ but On the main board we can allow the main ‘wagner’ thread to descend into chats about bloody curryhouses. Keep clicking on the thread thinking something worthwhile has been said only to discover it’s a new recommendation.
And most importantly, it’s bloody unbelievable that no one has mentioned….

Tharavardu in Leeds is great. A place called dastaan has just opened in Leeds, supposed to be good but haven’t been yet.
Back on topic, the longer this goes on the more likely it is to be sorted. If we weren’t prepared to wait/thrash out a deal then we would have appointed someone else by now.

I went down for it in the black HTAFC away top and the bird handing it over asked what footy top I had on - I told her Huddersfield Town and she said she couldn’t see the badge - I checked this out on my arrival back up at the house and sure enough it is maybe a little too dark gray with the black top, and I’ll have the third ‘beetroot’ kit on going back on the ferry tomorrow evening and it’ll match ma face no doubt as I’m straight into pub at ferry port for a night of live music with ma nieces daddy, his brother and another two lads from Glasgow ! |

Try the Bismillah at Fartown, opposite the Harp for takeaways. The Lamb Achari and Chickin Karahi are the best I've ever had, full of flavour and a good kick too and the meat is really tender. Get your Naans from Myrans at Birkby while you're out too. |

Balls to eating in, he'll be getting take-aways from Imrans in Golcar.. Belter of a curry. Is Imran's still going strong? Been around donkey's years. I remember circa 1994, my parents had gone on holiday and I was left home alone, I had an Imran's every single day for my tea for a fortnight. While it was cooking I'd pop into Bhullar's next door for a six-pack of whatever cheap and nasty lager was on offer - usually Hoffmeister or Colt 45. Ah, memories. I doubt this crap anecdote, or even the proliferation of fine curry houses in the Huddersfield area, will hasten the return of Herr Wagner, but got to do something while we wait. The suspense is killing me. |

Up here in the north east the curries are bloody awful. I can’t remember one decent Indian in Durham (lived there for a while ). The best one we have found is the Jashn in Whickham. So the odd time the missus and I go to the metro centre we always go there afterwards. Give it try. Last time we were in hudds we weren’t to the Nawaab. Wow that place has gone down hill. Ali murad on Wakefield road would be my favourite in hudds. |
