For a sit down curry Orinoco is right, Akbars on Leeds Road Bradford is amazing. Even Her Maj had a ruby in there one time, got pics on the walls to prove it. And their Lassi is the best out there and is sold in supermarkets and corner shops, absolutely yummy The same Akbars that recently scored 1/5 for hygiene? Where did you hear this? I went three weeks ago and it was fantastic. Some very ropey suggestions on this thread though.

Was in Solo's in Shat last week. Always good. Given you’re Dutch, is that pigeon English? Did you mean to say you shat yourself in Solo’s? I’ve also heard it’s decent there though.

Loving all the curry recommendations. But the best curry by far is my neighbour's or friends' and colleagues' home-made ones during Ramadan for their Iftari. Taste completely different to takeaways. Especially when they cook them bone-in, always more flavourful even if you spend longer eating coz of the bones. All this curry talk has made me want one for dinner, luckily there's City Road Fisheries just up the road, chicken masala here I come :D I’m doing European for lunch. Having a scotch egg…

Back to DW and severance pay.
Is it the case that if you take another job during your period of gardening leave, then you relinquish whatever was remaining for that period?
In the real world there’s a few people I know of, who have used their GL to relax, then had a job lined up to coincide with their official leaving date.
Nice work if you can get it of course…

It isn't gents - it is what it is though, a reasonable village curry house, if you think Solo's is good you've never had a good curry. Sorry, only my opinion of course. Anyway, is he coming back or not?

I'm a massive curry fan, but haven't been to an Indian restaurant for about 3 years. Instead I settle down and cook my own from the Shish Mahal cookbook (easy authentic recipes, highly recommended) compiled by Floyd Kennedy, or Rick Stein's India, or the Hairy Bikers' Great Curries. I'm not the best cook but I find it therapeutic listening to the latest podcast of AHTTC, whilst sipping a gin and tonic and cooking a curry.

If you're cooking curry at home, you cannot beat Al's Kitchen. It's all about the base gravy!

Ive heard those rumours but I dont really understand why him taking another job would effect any severance pay hes due from young boys. Unless he resigned , which I presume he didnt and was sacked. I'm speculating, but I think it's quite common place that after being sacked the manager continues to be paid for a certain amount of time until he gets another job. Pretty sure that was the case with us and Siewert. Maybe Wagner is trying to negotiate a payout if he takes the Town job now, as technically it would save Young Boys in the long run. I remember the same sort of thing happened when we appointed Grayson that we gave him a longer deal so he didn't lose out on the money Leeds were still paying him.

My stepdad moved there in the mid 90s and has always called it Shat. Never heard anyone say Skelmanthorpe, except for people getting the bus there.

How come most people refer to an "Indian" when talking about curries . Probably as many , or even more are Pakistani restaurants/takeaways..

Just listened to the AHTTC podcast and have to disagree regarding their take on Wagner returning. I remember when Wagner walked into that interview room and we got a first glimpse of him. Wow! I was blown away by his presence. I think what we need is someone like a David Wagner, but if we cannot find that person, then we need David Wagner.

I might get some of that pea soup in a box seeing the title of that. The wine buff, it was like watching a Charlie Higson sketch... :-) Keith Floyd made the best of his 60-odd yrs on the planet as well...

Promoting curry houses further afield, if in Blackpool Shapla spice up Highfield road is the bee's knees, out of the tourist area, but they deliver to hotels!!. If we’ve moved onto further afield. I found a few good ones in Mumbai when I was in India a few years ago. Do they deliver to Bradford?!!!!

Akbars Cafe doesn’t serve alcohol, so there are plenty of Asian families go there. It is also fusion curry, so you might get a curried shepherds pie ot curry lasagne. Excellent place, although not been for a while.

Today's extraordinary mini-budget might help Dean to persuade Dave to come. He might have to fib a little about the starting date for the reduction in top-earners' tax from 45% down to 40%, but it's worth tens of thousands of pounds a year to someone earning what He can expect. [This is the only good thing I can see in a budget that ought to be a suicide note by this government].
