I’ll buy 200 copies of the examiner if we lose to Middlesborough and Steven Chicken asks him ‘first question, Mark, what the hell do you think you’re doing?’
The curse word doesn’t have to be ‘hell’.

Thomas was outstanding last season.
This season he is doing well in a shit team.
He puts crosses in with quality but we are not converting these chances.
He was Devastated when Carlos left and has struggled at times.
Schofield playing as a LWB didn't help at the start of the season.
If he gets injured it's curtains for us.
Our league 1 standard new players ain't upto it.

He needs to be a threat for us more than a couple of times a game or taking set pieces. We require full backs and another slightly deeper but proper attacker on the pitch.

The stats back up my point. He has 6 assists this season, only 1 is from open play. He has to play purely because our best chance of scoring is from one of his corners. In open play, he is not a top end championship player. So many areas of his game are really weak. Mainly because we've missed 3 total sitters from his crosses from open play off the top of my head - Rhodes, Lees and Turton. He has the 3rd highest expected assists in the league, and corners in general are a low value for these. He's creating chances. It's hardly his fault we keep fucking them up. Likewise he will have picked up some assists from rubbish balls which the defence just don't deal with. Obrien goal against Reading last season being a good example. I'd pick him as he is our best winger but he's nowhere near as good as some think. Clubs would have been in for him in the summer if he was.

This wasn’t the case last season He was outstanding at beating his man, getting out of tight spots, bagging a few goals and of course his deliveries from set pieces and open play. He’s low on confidence this season, but showed last year he is top end. Put him in that Watford side and he smashes it Bagging a few goals. He scored in 2 games. That is abysmal for a wingers.

He went missing for 2 months after his Wales call up.

Hadn’t realised it was just two games, so maybe ignore that point. But still, VLP scored two goals in our 16/17 campaign and was one of the best wingers in the league that year too.

If he could finish he wouldn't be playing for us haha.

I agree that Sorba is vital for us but only due to his set pieces. He is still incredibly naive in open play, like Million says, his play needs to improve massively when facing his own goal. There is no reason why he can't improve but there's an awful lot to work on, such as his ball retention, finishing & getting to the goal line.
At the same time, we create nothing else from open play, hence the reliance on his set pieces. Duane has worked incredibly hard this season, but he is playing as a 10 & he is simply not creating/scoring enough for that role. It's not totally his fault though, there is no connection between when we are defending & attacking, which is where LOB & Toff are missed so much, they were excellent at getting us up the pitch.

Which means he's created the 3rd most in the league so far this year. It's a stat that doesn't rely on players being able to hit a barn door.
