So we have the usual barrage of ‘lack of ambition’, ‘blame Hoyle’, ‘he did right the Club didn’t back him’. And all of this DATM fact substantiated by what exactly?. The usual? (I.e fuck all). To those of you that are so blinkered you cannot see beyond the end of your nose. Answer me this,, how much did Corberan ask for (for him to then cite a lack of ambition as the reason for leaving). Go on, tell me how much and was it an amount the Club could afford without risking its very future. C’mon, did he ask for £1m?, £5m?, £10m?, £20m?. Have you ever though that his demands may not have been reasonable?. Have you ever thought of that?. Of course you haven’t. It may have been his demands were reasonable, we don’t know either way. I am certainly not going to pile in on the lack of ambition argument whilst none of us have got a fucking clue. “None of us have got a fucking clue.” But you are going to boo one of the best managers we have ever had anyway. How much did he ask for to cite lack of ambition?. I will deal with what I do know when offering an opinion and let others deal with what they don’t know when they do. The club that stood by him when he was having a very tough time. He has cited lack of ambition as the reason for leaving. It is my opinion that a Man of integrity would remember the afore mentioned point and think that in an industry where sackings are the order of the day. This Club backed me during a difficult time and that counts for something. And they gave me my first Managerial opportunity. They backed me. The timing of leaving?. Fair enough move on but again lacked integrity, class and respect. He knowingly dropped us right in the shit and couldn’t give a fuck ABOUT US FANS that sang his name or he wouldn’t have done it. Or not done it the way he did anyway. So forgive me for not giving a fuck about him. There is more to being lauded as some brilliant Town Manager than a few wins. How you conduct yourself, how you behave and carry yourself means something to me (and many others on here). Fine by me if it doesn’t matter to you and others.

CC isn't a quick fix manager/coach and I would worry for him that WBA have high expectations.
He took his time to win me over as Town coach but he proved me wrong and I wish him well.
From a perception viewpoint it makes life harder for DH and LB. CC reappearing in the Championship makes their apparent inability to hold onto into greater focus. I use the word apparent as we don't know the details of why CC didn't continue but if we continue to struggle it sends a message that we can't compete. That message will become more vocal if CC is a success at WBA. That might be unfair but that's what will happen. Dissatisfaction with what we have, and are witnessing, will increase and ultimately fans will drift away from the club.
Start winning games of football and things will improve. Fail to do so, and if WBA improve towards the top of the league, the support for DH and LB will evaporate. The structure at Town will essentially be untenable for many.
I don't make this point to be critical of DH and LB but to highlight what will happen.
As for CC I wish him the best.

hopefully a good reception its the man in the stands that needs booing Yeah lets cheer the bloke who fucked us off just before the season started after we stuck with him long enough for him to make his name and lets boo the bloke who's financially propping up the club. All those bleating about lack of ambition.. go down to the club and donate a few thousand quid of YOUR money so the club can show more ambition. Take it out of your bank and hand it over. If youre prepared to do that then you begin to have some right to bleat about lack of ambition. because 'lack of ambition' is basically a call for the club to spend money it doesnt have.. or more accurately a call for the owner to put EVEN MORE of his money in. Well you put more of yours in first. You show 'ambition' with your money. Share the burden. I can just see the queue forming now... my arse!

He gave us one good season in an extremely poor Championship but his ‘management’ with some very questionable team selections ultimately cost us in the final. Along with the ref and VAR of course.

Details or facts you want, we missed our main target Carlton Morrison to big spending Luton. We brought in Mahoney against CC’s wishes, we couldn’t afford Sinani, we sold experienced players and have some aging 1st team regulars who have all been replaced by inexperienced lower league project players. If you need more evidence we finished 3rd last season we are bottom of the league and I can’t name one game where we have been robbed this season. We are the worst team I have seen so far. According to Leigh bro by they new the mistakes made with appointing DS and the need to get the next decision right. They go and sign another inexperienced coach!

Mally, do you understand what happens to a business when the books don’t match and you have more going out than you have coming in?. You go bust, you cease to exist. Are you aware of the Clubs accounts and what is required to fund and run a Championship football Club?. I take it you have one of them money trees at the bottom of your garden that you just shake and money miraculously falls out of it. Huddersfield Town needs to be run as a financially sustainable business if we want to have a Club to follow. And that means for us selling Players from time to time. And signing Players within a budget. We have to work to a financial budget and if that budget is not good enough for Mr Corberan to feel the Club is ‘ambitious’. Then so be it if that means we still have a Club to support. PS based on recent proceedings, I think you should apply for the Chancellors position with the Government.

WBA up as champions next season. Good luck to him, I hope he is a success and shows DH what could have been with a modest reinvestment on fees received. No issues with him leaving us when all the quality from his squad was ripped from him and replaced with crap from the lower leagues.

It was effective but largely dull although this season does now make it seem like we were watching Man City last season Yes it was a bit of a mixed bag, some really entertaining games last season both home and away, with with plenty of boring games thrown into the mix, i didnt care, in fact i dont care how we play as long as results are positive. If he did go to West brom they might have to be a patient, it took him a while to get things as he wanted here, but if he does get some spending money it will be interesting to see how he fares.

He got the backing then & will have got it in the close season, he left because of his own greed.........but his level of ability got found out in Greece, now back where he started in CL & no better off (Career wise, maybe financial).

He will be sacked before the end of the season. Football how it is I would say thats the most likely outcome. To me Corboran showed a couple of things here. Firstly that given time he can make a bunch of players collectively much better than the sum of their parts would suggest. he's tactically astute, flexible and once the players get on board with that, the whole thing can gel into a successful side. Secondly though, all that takes a good while. Initially what you get is a manager waving his arms about frantically on the touchline whilst his players seem confused as to what he's wanting them to do, both individually and collectively. We showed him a lot of patience to get to the first bit of that. Olympiacos didnt and I doubt West Brom will if theyre still struggling near the bottom come next March. Funny Alternative opinion: he had an even worse group playing well almost straight away in his first season, the squad was badly hit by injuries, broke down and had a poor second half. He learnt from this and adapted his approach going forward. Summer 21 we signed: Lees, turton, pearson, colwill, sinani and nicholls (off the top of my head). Over half a team. They all played key rolls pretty much start to finish. Did they have 6 months secret tuition with him we dont know about or are you using an example as a rule?

Just going from what I recall at the time watching his teams. There seemed a lot of confusion in the first season. Like tactically the players didnt know what they were supposed to be doing a lot of the time. We were comfortably mid table though despite that until the squad was hammered by a run of bad injuries from December. Think he did learn a lot from that. Maybe the next season he altered his coaching a bit? Made the instructions easier for the players? Didnt work them into the ground so much? Im presuming he must have done as like you say the new players slipped seamlessly into the side. There was certainly a hell of a lot less frantic arm waving going on from the touchline.

Five of those players signed to give the squad a more solid defence. Of course, signing attacking players who can score goals regularly is somewhat harder...
