Just heard that on STV there on The Footy League Show... it was always gonna happen though that he’d blag a championship job sometime -
I think he will show Town respect in the matches he played against us...
It’ll be interesting to see what reception he gets from the Town fans at The John Smith’s stadium - probably a mixed bag of good, bad and indifferent !

He wasn’t revered in the way Wagner is but he certainly deserves lots of credit for making wine out of water last season. You only have to look at where we are now to see that.

Club stood by him when it was something like 4 wins in 27 matches. No Manager survives that sort of abysmal return.
First sign of adversity and he scurried off like a little rat.
The timing was also appalling and shows he didn’t give a toss about the Club, fans or his Team, the Players.
So no, fuck him.
He will get booed by me and I will take the same pleasure in him failing in this role as I did when Olympiakos jettisoned him.

I agree with all that, the guy was a rat to us and showed no loyalty to reciprocate the loyalty we showed him But he showed himself to be a very good coach and I reckon he'll be a success at WBA whereas our Mark? Not so sure.

And I also cannot understand why his behaviour is not discussed more and being cited more as being a significant contributing factor in the mess we are in. It threw all our pre-season plans out. Oh and Schofield would not have been promoted so early either and still been rightly at the Club.

Think it’ll be similar to with us, they’ll need to give him at least a season before he starts to get consistent results. Be interesting to see if they’re as patient as we were.

I know there were a few justified grievances behind his exit from us, but contrast that to Beale at QPR this week. I hope WBA show him the same degree of loyalty as he showed us. Considering how his first season was, he'll need more. The main reason we're in this position is Carlos leaving us high and dry, although others are at fault for that situation coming about.

Think they’ll limp to mid table at most this season . They’ve a very talented squad with a big budget . Can see them smashing the league next season
Don’t hold much against Carlos but am slightly bitter with how it ended . Especially his steps the following weeks. Completely understood his grievances but at the same time don’t get how he could be surprised by the clubs stance with the fact it’s been that war since relegation

Of course they survive that if the reason for the poor form is you got rid of all his experienced players selling Hamer in January and running with a smaller squad. Also the substitute rules changed to favour bigger squads and finally with a full squad he had us just outside the playoffs, highest position at Christmas other than our promotion year in our championship era. He saw the players we were signing and the players we were missing out on. He did us a favour and acted like a fan. You can’t spend less and less every year selling anybody you can and keep moving forward. The current coach will survive 4 wins in 27, possibly more because he keeps telling Dean and Janet how grateful he is to be here. Some things are more important than results.

And he repaid that faith when he delivered us our best season since Wagner, and when he wanted to build on that and take us forward, he could see that the club were intent on taking us backwards, so he did the same thing any sane person who values his career would do, and got out of the car before it was slammed into a brick wall by the idiot driving it. Good on him, we are now a poisoned chalice and he 100% did the right thing, everything that has happened since has proven that to be a fact.

I feel no animosity towards Carlos at all. Football management is a lottery and there is certainly no loyalty either way. He gave us a great season that none of us expected and he wanted more success. When it became obvious that the club didn't match his ambition he walked.
I say we got what we deserved and good luck to him. The boo boys should give their heads a shake.

WBA fans may have been happy with CC prior to his Greek disaster where he couldn't get a tune out of so called 'better' players/squad, another cast off boss at the Hawthorns & watch out for another cast off player joining them soon.........Pipa loan (rescue) move looks a cert?

So we have the usual barrage of ‘lack of ambition’, ‘blame Hoyle’, ‘he did right the Club didn’t back him’.
And all of this DATM fact substantiated by what exactly?. The usual? (I.e fuck all).
To those of you that are so blinkered you cannot see beyond the end of your nose.
Answer me this,, how much did Corberan ask for (for him to then cite a lack of ambition as the reason for leaving).
Go on, tell me how much and was it an amount the Club could afford without risking its very future.
C’mon, did he ask for £1m?, £5m?, £10m?, £20m?.
Have you ever though that his demands may not have been reasonable?. Have you ever thought of that?.
Of course you haven’t.
It may have been his demands were reasonable, we don’t know either way.
I am certainly not going to pile in on the lack of ambition argument whilst none of us have got a fucking clue.

All summer seeing his first choice targets go to other clubs, and LOB and toffs head out, I don’t blame him. He’s not a miracle worker. There’s a key reason why we are where we are, the players we have at the club aren’t good enough because we didn’t bring in adequate replacements. I understand why he left. He would’ve ruined his high stock.

Some very odd people on here with issues that need urgently addressing. Good luck to him. Football is all about passion, rivalry and irrational thoughts towards other teams, fans, managers, referees etc. It doesn’t mean that people have issues that urgently need addressing, most people can seperate reality from the ridiculous world of football. I for one was greatly amused when he was sacked by Olympiakos and will be again when he’s sacked by his next club but I don’t lose any sleep thinking that I should really seek some help for my evil thoughts.

He will be sacked before the end of the season. Football how it is I would say thats the most likely outcome. To me Corboran showed a couple of things here. Firstly that given time he can make a bunch of players collectively much better than the sum of their parts would suggest. he's tactically astute, flexible and once the players get on board with that, the whole thing can gel into a successful side. Secondly though, all that takes a good while. Initially what you get is a manager waving his arms about frantically on the touchline whilst his players seem confused as to what he's wanting them to do, both individually and collectively. We showed him a lot of patience to get to the first bit of that. Olympiacos didnt and I doubt West Brom will if theyre still struggling near the bottom come next March.
