Up there with Diakhaby as the most disliked players of recent times Surely he's way beyond Diakhaby. Diakhaby was just poor, he didn't not try, he didn't down tools, he didn't slag us off or try to take the piss out of us. The gnome did all those.

Sunderland AFC today issued the following statement.
On Friday morning, Alex Pritchard informed the Club that he was no longer available for selection and he subsequently withdrew from today’s matchday squad.
The midfielder also expressed his desire to leave SAFC with immediate effect.
The Club will be making no further comment at this moment in time.

They moved his peg up in the dressing room to be level with everyone elses, but then he found he couldn't reach it and threw a strop.

What a wanker, trying to force a move when he only has 6 months left on his contract to see out.

I don't like him, didn't like him when he was here although most of that is from what I saw on the pitch just didn't like him as a player but off the pitch I can't figure out if he really struggles mentally or is a massive (not a word I thought I'd ever use to describe him) bellend.

Who's he in talks with? Or is it something more internal and serious? Struggling with mental health?
What's gone on?

Who's he in talks with? Or is it something more internal and serious? Struggling with mental health? What's gone on? Talk of an offer abroad (Turkey) and also possibility Mowbray wants him at Birmingham. This is from Alan Nixon: Alex Pritchard’s row with Sunderland is over the length of the deal he has been offered. Attacker Pritchard wanted a new two year contract with the Black Cats but was only offered one more season after this campaign. Pritchard has a longer offer abroad and could also get the same length of deal from old boss Tony Mowbray at Birmingham City. The experienced star was happy to stay at Sunderland after getting back into the side but the one year extension is less than he can get elsewhere. It is also ironic as Sunderland told Pritchard he would not get ANY deal last summer when he was told they were planning on cutting the age of the squad.

We did try to warn Sunderland fans that he's a bit of a wanker I have nothing against most players but this guy epitomises why fans can’t stand some footballers. ‘Earns’ good money but only plays/performs on his terms.

We did try to warn Sunderland fans that he's a bit of a wanker We were also warned when he signed for us - or at least I was by a Brighton supporting colleague. Tale I was told was that Brighton had agreed a fee with Tottenham and that personal terms had been agreed. He was on his way to his medical but just didn't turn up - he'd been contacted by his agent whilst on his way and been told that Norwich had offered better personal terms so he just drove there instead.

I'd be telling him that his salary was 'unavailable for payment' at this time as well, the ungrateful little prick!

I'd be telling him that his salary was 'unavailable for payment' at this time as well, the ungrateful little prick! You would have thought if he is fit to play, he would be in breach of his contract if he declares himself unavailable. But, as we all know, football doesn't work the same as the real world. Don't think I could get away with declaring myself "unavailable" to work and still collect my salary. Not for long anyway. Hope he ends up with no club at all, but we all know that won't happen. Once a twat, always a twat.

Blokes a fucking rat . Forget the money aspect , Sunderland gave him a chance when he was proper down and out and have played him throughout the last three years .
Think back to when he was with us , every manager gave him a chance and he lost their trust . Wagner , siewert, cowley and corberan showed intent to play him but he couldn’t be arsed … think Carlos even made him captain one game early on .
Utter rat and Sunderland better off without !
