I've never been sure his head is quite right to be a pro footballer. Felt like all his issues at town were in his head and also the reason he mainly looked massively half arsed even when we managed to get him on the pitch.

Never forgive him for going missing with hurty knee… Now let’s be fair here, it was a spot on his knee that prevented him from playing for several weeks. They can be very painful 😆.

Employee leaves one employer when offered a better deal by another potential employer. Who'da thunk it. And for most of those individuals it's a case of resigning, working out your notice period and then starting with the new employer. Football doesn't work like that though does it? Fixed term contracts, clubs holding player registrations through which they can prevent a player moving to another club without their consent (often accompanied by payment of a fee) and two periods a year during which changes can be made. Since Bosman removed the inequitable position of a club being able to hold a player registration indefinitely (even after a contract expired) the restrictions don't impose unduly on players and the majority of them are able to work within the structure. There are some of course who consider themselves above the system and for them, in my opinion, they deserve all the opprobrium they receive. From what I understand he is a free agent in the summer so if Sunderland don't want to sell him or let him go on a free then he should honour the remainder of the contract he freely entered into. If he doesn't like the one year extension deal Sunderland have offered him then his agent should get him a better deal in the summer.

Was at the Sunderland v Town match in the Sunderland end with a friend who’s a season ticket holder. Had to explain why Town fans were booing Pritchard. Texted him today to say ‘Now you understand why we boo him…’ To think what we spent on him. Leicester might have spent double on Maddison from Norwich six months later but they also quite literally got twice the player.

They couldn’t believe we were booing him. Great player. Top bloke. Guess they know now.

At least with Sunderland he had the decency to actually tell them he was downing tools.
It's rare that I'd say this about a player but I hope after 3 years of stealing a wage, malingering about an injury that could have been sorted with a cotton pad and some fucking clearasil that he gets a proper fucking injury on his debut with his next club.

Sunderland AFC today issued the following statement. On Friday morning, Alex Pritchard informed the Club that he was no longer available for selection and he subsequently withdrew from today’s matchday squad. The midfielder also expressed his desire to leave SAFC with immediate effect. The Club will be making no further comment at this moment in time. Club wont be paying him as long as he states he is 'unavailable'. Unlike mortals, footballers with a bit of a career behind them are not short of money which enables them to play being a twat. If he does not get a move shortly, he will declare himself available and even though he wont be picked he will be paid up either normally or paid up his contract. He will miss squad money, appearance money etc but he can cope with that.

The lad is a poisoned dwarf, simple! But ultimately, he was also part of a bigger problem with the rest of the big earners who stopped playing for Town. The club became toxic in the EPL decline. Horrid times.

Who's he in talks with? Or is it something more internal and serious? Struggling with mental health? What's gone on? Blackpool pleasure beach, he's put in to drive the pleasure beach express next season!

He has the ability to be a really good player and showed it at Norwich. We paid a lot of money both in fees and wages for him. On the top of his game and settled he'd be a really good championship player. Unfortunately he thinks he's better than the team' and you just get the feeling he's never been happy since he left Norwich and neither have his team mates with him. Karma will catch up with him as it does with us all.

You have to think he has a history now with this sort of tactic. The time he wasn’t fit to play for us and now after doing well at Sunderland he kicks off when things aren’t going how he wants. I really hope managers will see this and not take a risk with him in. He will probably, if there is enough time, get a loan until the end of the season, play a storm and then, when he gets a permanent contract at that club, revert to pillock mode. I just hope they all avoid him.

Rumour is that he has already negotiated a two and a half year deal with Birmingham. Could be getting a fortune again.

Hope their fax machine packs in just as they are confirming their offer on the last day of the window.

I messaged my mate, a season ticket holder at Sunderland. His response;
Don’t blame him tbh. He’s been fucked about by the club. Tried to get rid of him in the summer but he wanted to stay. They said he wouldn’t get a new contract. Then he started playing really well and the fans are all kicking off coz the club won’t give him a new contract when he’s one of our best players and coz of his age it doesn’t go with the “model” then he’s had a lot of interest from other clubs offering 2 1/2 yr contracts. He wants to stay at Sunderland and the club have come out publicly and said we’ve offered him a new deal (they did that to appease the fans coz the relationship with them is dog shit at the moment). Turns out it’s only 1 yr contract on peanuts. Taking the piss. Trying to make him look the bad guy but it’s the shitty club.

Pritchard is a self centred egotistical modern day footballer. Feel sorry for his next club. Couldn’t care less what a Sunderland ST holder says he’s a prime example of a bang average modern day footballer who doesn’t deserve any sympathy from anyone.

It also highlights why football (and UK society in general) is irreparably damaged when people like him and the Post Office management receive the salaries they get.
