Out in the warm up, not on the pitch at Reading.

Out in the warm up, not on the pitch at Reading. This isn't the first time Nicholls got an injury in the warm up. Hogg injured in warm up against Blackpool. Healey injured in Warm up earlier in the season. Go out and kick a few balls around and a few sprints is all that's needed. Practise shooting at Nicholls might be a good idea for our goal shy strikers.

As someone who is always inside the ground by 2.15pm, it always amazes me how long the warm ups take and how much effort is put into them. The players come off the pitch 10 minutes before kick off looking absolutely knackered. Of course, the opposition always do exactly the same though.

Chicken , in his “five conclusions “ has stated that Nicholls hurt his elbow in the warm up and lost the feeling in two of his fingers. Hope it’s not serious.

My point being how can we get so many players injured before the kick off in a warm up?

My point being how can we get so many players injured before the kick off in a warm up? Probably because there is something seriously wrong will the whole set up. I suspect Nagle has not been well advised so it starts near the top and trickles down to the bottom.

My point being how can we get so many players injured before the kick off in a warm up? Also why are so many taken ill on match day? This seemed to happen regularly last season. It's almost like they don't fancy it.

What a sad state of affairs. We have a squad full of physically and mentally fragile players.
Balker - Early 2025 at best, but let's be honest it won't be long before something else goes.
Healey - I'll be amazed if he plays 10 games this season. Sounds like a nerve problem from his last big injury, and probably won't ever be the same again .
Helik - Sometime in November hopefully.
Nicholls - Nothing said yet. Apparently landed awkwardly on his elbow.
Maxwell - Viral infection. No indication as to when he will be back, doesn't look to be soon.
The signings of Healey and Balker are looking worse by the day. Didn't we pay over £3 million for them combined?

Why are so many of the modern day footballers getting injured. Lets go back to a great side 1969/70 season when Town won the league and only used 14 players all season including cup games, there was the odd broken leg something we gladly don't seem to get anymore but when you look back at the state of the pitches was there any wonder. Modern footballers are more like athletes and in Towns case slow and physically weak there is no give in the pitches and the slightest wrong turn normally ends up with an injured player.

I agree that we seem to have a lot of injuries, whilst looking through HTAFC glasses, but, how does this number of injuries compare to other clubs? Very unlikely that anyone knows what position we are in the league table of injuries sustained by PL and EFL clubs, so I doubt that our backroom team are any different to that of any other club.
Of course, if we were top of that league, there would be a case to answer, but we would be waiting in vain to find out.

I know that signing Danny Ward to a 2 year contract was fucking stupid and serving Ward's agents (look into who and why). Promotion was 30 years ago so pretty irrelevant now... a separate stint to the one where he resigned Ward and Ruffels(!!) Saved us from relegation, which was a miraculous effort by he and Jepson. I was and am grateful for that. But not everything he did was great. But thank Christ we have people on DATM who are incapable of separating the good things from the bad.

Ward's seen the writing on the wall then and decided he's not having any more part to play. Out of interest would people prefer we cut our losses and pay him up on a potentially cut price deal or given the lack of options up top keep him around for the occasional game we get out of him here on in on full whack?

Problem is to your thought, you can't pay him up if he does not want to be paid up.

Ye Ward on a 2 year contract compared to a promotion (when is irrelevant) and avoiding relegation. I know not everything I've done is great and I guess you're the same. Lets be honest we are just posting opinions on DATM, while Warnock is widely regarded as a legendary manager so yet again not really compatible.
