As Stan says, it's the waste of a very good set of attacking players, who actually seem to get on ok, with no club factions affecting spirit. As you say, results do speak... & we've won nowt since 1966. So the go to barometer is winning the World Cup? Anything below is not acceptable? Aye, ok. What should be taken into account is that he's been far too defensive, when it matters, in 2 different tournaments, so why not change tactics & back his attacking players to see if they can get us over the line. We might just have won one of them them if we'd given it a go - yet we will never know will we? Noone moaned at how England went out of the 1990 World Cup cos they gave it a right go, if we go out of this World Cup being too defensive people will, quite rightly, be really pissed off, when we have the best set of attacking options, with seemingly no split factions, that we've had for years. |

I don't think we've been too bad, certainly a lot better than last time out, we just need Henderson off for Grealish, Madison or even Mount, to get a bit more creativity on.

So what was Southgate scared of when picking Henderson and Rice -and then never trusting the most talented players shoves Foden wide -in the same way no England manager except Robson- with Gascoyne-ever picks the most creative players available- se we still have Grealish and Maddison not playing.
