If Pearson is fit, we will have eight regulars who got to the play off final last season available for this plus Helik and Rudoni (£1m each), Kasumu, Camara, Jackson and Simpson. That should be enough to give most teams at this level a game, unless you don’t know how to use them. The year we got in playoffs , I don’t know how we took a point from this game because we were easily 2nd best. It’s not a happy hunting ground. But as they say a win is well over due and they often come when least expected. Love Boxing Day games, not this season, went to PNE when Tommy Elphick's career was ended, was a disgusting tackle, which should have been red carded. That season we took around 4,000 fans to Deepdale, will surprised if we manage 1,500 this tme - -UTT.

I’m not even going to watch on an illegal stream. Going out for a walk with family and friends then a curry
Absolutely zero interest.
Can’t remember ever feeling like this about town.

Wouldn’t be Boxing Day without a Town game. I always say I’ll not bother with Preston away, been so many times and rarely get out there.
Who am I kidding. We are setting off at 11. UTT

Still bothered enough to post I'll be at Preston with my dad, football especially supporting town is more than who owns them or how results are going. It's that time to support huddersfield and while thr players still give their all despite obvious gaps then I'll be there. Football is crazy and things can switch over a short period of time Let's see!

We have to win at PNE at some point right? I know we haven't won there since 1957 or something stupid like that. Maybe MF is that man to turn this one for us. If you do not believe then you have nothing haha. I always go into a game with in the champ, thinking we can win this game, of course i didn't in the prem that is just the way it was. In any other league game bar those two years, i have thought we can win this game , whoever we were playing.
I still believe this now, town have players who on their day can turn a game for us. It all depends on if today is one of those days for them or not.

Just looked at our away results so far. Today would normally have been my 8th away day of the season and yet I’ve only done Reading.

Getting harder and harder to get up at 4 am to watch on Ifollow in NZ. Expecting a very low scoring game - if Town are losing at half time I'll give the rest a miss.

My 1st two away games on Boxing Day were at Halifax in the 70's when we were riding high in the league (3rd & 4th division back then), both times we expected to win at the Shay & both times we didn't, a few years earlier it was Everton & Man City away on the 26th Dec........a Town fan is for life not just during the good days, expected to lose today so we're bound to win (or draw)!..UTT.

Preston North End....one of the oddest names of a league club. They were the first club to do the double ( -9), unbeaten in all matches. They won the league again in 1890...but their only other major success since then was to beat Town in the 1938 Cup Final. They've been out of the top flight since 1961. And Deepdale is the oldest football ground in terms of continuous use by a club. No relevance to today's match, obviously....but a bit more interesting than Town's interminable miseries.

I hope, truly hope a true clapper will highlight this post after the game mocking my negative view.

I live 17 miles from PNE, I go to football on Boxing Day but I'm not this time. I obviously hope we win but the events of the last 6 months have taken their toll. All credit to those going, I admire and applaud you. A similar distance for me and normally if I am free I would go to watch them at a choice of grounds which are all within 20 minutes or so but I can get depressed following them from home so why spend good money to be depressed. Hopefully we will get a minor miracle. Ah well next year could see visits to Accrington and Morecambe where I have enjoyed friendlies. Actually only thing to enjoy at the Accrington match was a young Lewis O'Brien whilst rest of team were rubbish. UTT.
