Having seen Hudlin play a couple of times, last time on NYD for AFCW at Sutton, if he starts for Town then good luck.

Brilliant press conference that, loved the bit about Boothy and his mum Whilst that’s certainly lifted spirits, I can’t quite find myself getting enough optimism that we’ll stay up though, as the players are so poor. Agree. Great pic of the crowded press room. If nothing else they’ll be lots of extra media people at the game on Saturday.

Those who don't get the humour in it must be younger and not get what Warnock is about.
His whole management is on creating a close-knit team who will run through walls. That starts with the dressing room - in the past he's played practical jokes on his team, fancy dress etc...
Second he relieves the pressure - "free hit"... "could lose by 5 or 6"... Not only is he immediately reducing the fear of the game but if we lose 3-0 he can build it as a success and pump their confidence. Genius really.
Third - siege mentality. The first two games he really will have written off and be using to see his team, but once he has formed his dressing room, I would expect him to then create the siege mentality for the fight. It'll be the referees or it'll be the bookies odds, perhaps just targets set by him on a wall...
In the next few games we will see a lot of different faces, this gives those who need it a break, makes them want their place back and also gets to see some others.
He's known for his bollockings but that's standard, he's not daft either, they can have their cuddles but he is setting standards, he also wants guys who can take it. There is rarely any softness to those in his team. He is already challenging some to step up.
Im almost more excited to see this man do his thing. This man builds teams.

Super, super Col, super, super Col…. Brilliant press conference from a man who’s been there and done it. Calm, measured, funny and comes across as confident in his own abilities, without being arrogant. As he says, if we go down it won’t be his fault but in the circumstances this is a good appointment for both parties. He’s listed why he’s here but it’s good to have a ‘name’ and a positive story associated with the club. Feels like it’s been a while.

Was a great interview that. All laughs and smiles but there were just little snippets here and there that were glimpses into the other side of all that.. like the comment on Boyles red card and the mention of how if you dont give 100% in training you dont get in the team ( exactly the same as what MF said but done in a much more media savvy way somehow) hes a clever bloke is warnock,, you dont get to have had his longevity in the game without being.. and you could see how a lot of that interview was designed to take the pressure off the players a bit. He'll pick his players and maybe try slightly different tactics, but the main part of his job will be getting inside the players heads and giving them their confidence and composure back. .

Thursday team talk from Warnock.. "Right you f****** wasters, what a load of sh*t you are you soft f*ckers. F*ck me stiff you lazy tw*ts. Anyone who isn't up for this can f*ck off now..go on just f*ck off.." ... youre probably not far off. but with modern pampered footballers this approach just wont wash. you'll probably find 50% cant get in their cars quick enough when he offers itAnd those 50% can fuck right off if they think they don't deserve a bollocking for this season's performances. They can't blame it ALL on the manager(s).

Whilst a press conference it was also essentially a get the press, players, fans onside. Which I think he did perfectly. A few issues about the team mentioned and a bit of humour which few other managers would get away with in our difficult situation. Im expecting a few interesting (or even bizarre) team selections over his first 2 games which may or may not work but what is happening at the moment isn't working and he's not the sort of guy to persist with failure. My main concern is the lack of players at the back through injury and now suspension so I think we will be weak in that area for some time. An area we had tightened up considerably. Will we stay up? I don't really know. We are not cut adrift but what has happened is that a number of teams have pulled away from the bottom and only now need average results to keep clear. Bristol City and potentially Stoke now for example. I would say Blackpool and Wigan will drop and one of us, Cardiff, Rotherham for the other place. If Cardiff beat Reading tonight whilst we will have 2 games in hand they will have the benefit of a 7 point advantage. On balance I still think we have just about enough to stay up but a lot will be down to others continuing to perform badly rather than a great run from ourselves.

Wonder what the odds were on after almost getting promoted to the Premier League we appoint 2 absolute nobodies and then Neil Warnock comes back mid February to make it all right Welcome back Neil. Ordinarily I’d have found these circumstances unfathomable but of what was on the table I’m delighted you’re back so at least we have a proper manager back at the helm Feels like we’ve left this too late but I’m behind you all the way chief! Big Wayne's coming back too? Edited because it changed to the sad emoji weirdly

Not just under Fozzy. We've been negative since and including Wagner It's been dreadful for years.... only we have had some sucess. So we have accepted that. Ever since the club adopted a playing style that was shit, I.e 4231 generally the football has been effective but garbage. Jan seiwert had us playing the best football in his first few games as gaffer as a 433... but we neither had the players or he the ability to carry it off. He wanted to play like Liverpool with RVLP, Diakhaby and Mbenza. Just hope Colin can find a few gems that fit what he wants to do. We have the players they are just weighed down by our rigid German football. 😂😂😂 did he fuck, it was absolute dog shite 😂😂😂

That would be ridiculous Hang on What if Aw, man Boothy and Ron starting up front on Saturday 🤔 Blacky coming back as player coach and playing in goal. Scullachi and Sinnott coming back to shore up the defence. Psycho coming back to show Hoggy what he's SUPPOSED to do as a midfield enforcer. And Kevin Gray returning ... just to piss off the chickens

Hopefully Warnock will signal a bit more good fortune for us too. Turton out for 6 months now apparently.Did that happen before or after Colin was announced? Or maybe it was the first training session and he thought he'd try giving Rocket a leveller

The bollockings can (and will) come but not before you've built a level of respect and trust. Siewert and Fotheringham both failed miserably on that front, diving in two footed.

He dishes out bollockings when they're needed, which IMO is absolutely fair enough. If you deserve a bollocking be man/woman enough to take it and not sulk like a little toddler. We don't see the cuddles, arms round the shoulder-type stuff because they aren't interesting enough to be filmed. Bollockings and rantings are SO much more interesting to watch

Bollockings and rantings are SO much more interesting to watch I've spoken to Paul Reid, Lee Duxbury, Iain Dunn and Simon Collins recently, they all waxed lyrical of how much of a brilliant man-manager he was. They couldn't speak more highly of the man. If he was just a ranter and raver, shouting and balling at everyone, they wouldn't say that about him would they? Like you say, it's far more interesting to see the rantings.

Siewert and Fotheringham both failed miserably on that front, diving in two footed.Ive never been a pro footballer ( should have been! ) but I can imagine what its like in a changing room and what players are like when a new manager comes into a club. Someone like Fotheringham and Seivert ( and to be fair Wagner and Corboran too ) their initial mindset will be " Who are you? What have you ever done? You're bollocking me but what level did you play at? " Because theyre novices with almost no track record to speak of, they have to earn the players respect before they can get away with bollockings. Warnock was never much of a player but as a manager hes become legendary and there wont be a player in there who doesnt have a lot of respect for him and his opinions right from day 1. That must make a huge difference. Id have been happy with Lampard too for the same reason, although his instant respect would have been through his playing career rather than anything hes done as manager. But in a changing room he'd have had the same awe about him that Warnock has.

Particularly like the bingo on the way to an away match and picking up players (Clayts?) on the way. "Get back off so we can film you getting on properly". The original bingo machine picking Chris Billy to play, massive cheer from the other players on the coach. Kickabout with local kids at either an away match or on way to Wembley, can't remember which. My first full season was the last at Leeds Road so there's probably a LOT of rose-tinting going on but watching those DVDs STILL gives me goosebumps, or pimples as Colin calls them

It's such a myth that Warnock just rants and raves at his players. A myth that's based on one clip from 1995. He ranted in general, then went on to point out what was wrong with the first half performance, and finally, came up with a suggestion of how they should change things in the second half. All done with severe bombast, but not a whole rant and rave.
