Mr Warnock led Town out at Wembley, our first visit for 56 years, for the Autoglass final, 29 years ago today. My youngest son was born that morning; his 9 year old brother was in tears when we lost the shoot out (a shame I couldn’t see into the future so I could have told him that we’d never lose another one that mattered in the next 29 years) and the 5 year old thought the celebrity curtain-raiser was the match itself, so he was dismayed to still be there over two hours later. By a remarkable coincidence my grandson was born in Australia on the morning of the 2017 play-off final and last year’s took place on his 5th birthday. Great story ! - Happy 29th Birthday to your lad ! 👍 🥃 🍾 Thank you, Westie, I'll pass on your birthday wishes. And by another not particularly remarkable coincidence the 5 year old in 1994 lived for the better part of a year on Holker Street, Barrow. He worked as a trainee accountant for BAE Systems at the time, so I've passed the ground a few times, but neither of us ever watched a match there.

Just one more win to get Neil to 50 wins as town manager.

The shocking defeat v Coventry was our 34th game of the season and left us 7 points from safety on 31 points.
We’ve taken 11 from the 15 available in April and 16 in the 10 games since, 1.6 PPG average is pretty decent form in any book.
Let’s hope we get the job done on Thurs, then the Reading game provides the opportunity to usher out the end of an era (relief isn’t as good as euphoria of course), and welcome in the next chapter…
Finishing the season with an unbeaten run will provide a huge tonic…
UTT!!!

Getting confidence into those players. They were a beaten bunch before he came. Fotheringham was all about intense training, but you need to be able to man manage.

19 points from a possible 39 since Neil walked through the door (play off form) or more recent in April we took 12 points from the 18 available (auto promotion form), quite remarkable turnaround from a team odds on for relegation.......Just one more point to safety, although I suspect NW will asking for six & why not?

It’s astonishing what he has done. A few games in and I was thinking there isn’t no warnock factor. But I’ve been proved massively wrong.
He has been class.
How is it a player like Ruffels, who was struggling, big time, can suddenly look solid and be a major part of the back 4 ? Obviously comes down to warnock.
I’m told he has cost a million quid (if he keeps us up), money well spent.
Pleased for Dean as I’m sure it’s his money that has been spent.
(Yes I know I’ve slagged off Dean - but now I know the truth - we have an awful lot to thank him for.)

If we do it Warnock should put this down as another promotion not avoiding relegation.
We were down, gone. He’ll have dragged us back from Division 3.

If we get a point on Thursday the club needs to put a Warnock mask on every seat for next Monday.

To be fair, if we stay up the club should be asking him nicely, if he will extend his contract for the new season. UTT

In February if someone had said we'd be out of the relegation zone and only need one point from two games to GUARANTEE (never mind hope for) safety I'd have called the people from Ashworth or Broadmoor to come with their white coats!

Anybody know where I can lay my hands on one of those Neil Warnock shirts that people had on last Sunday ?
Hawaiian themed.

Nominations for manager/player of the month in the Championship named later (talksport?), would be surprised if Sir Neil & Matty 'goal machine' Pearson are not on the list.......The curse starts when you win it, named next Tuesday we hope.

I spent years thinking money was all that mattered to make winning teams.
Forest, Chelsea, Carlos, Fozza, Warnock, Siewart make you realise a properly run club with an actual manager will outperform any team with 10 times the budget if that have retards making decisions.

I predict it would be Heckingbottom, Martin and Robins nominated - for sheer results, although for sure the turnaround we've had is by far the most incredible feat, I just don't think they consider the context ?? Kind of amazing that we've only ever had two players winning the award since it formalised 20 seasons ago...James Vaughan twice (in consecutive months), and then Sorba Thomas in August last season.

Think he played two / three Championship games for us before departing to Blackburn. Signed off with a penalty v Forest IIRC.

Jon Worthington, Robbie Williams, Pilkington & Rhodes (twice). No Town player has ever won a League 2 (or Premier League) player of the month award!

I'm hoping now we are staying up. That Warnock gets his bonus presented to him just before Monday's game. In the form of one of those massive cheques, they used to give to Pools Winners.
