Football for most clubs goes through cycles. We're on a massive down swing and it will only get worse. Those stonewall penalties not awarded at Wembley (despite VAR) will be seen as massively pivotal in our club's history. I can only see lower league football now for years, probably decades ahead. Time to find something else to do on a Saturday methinks. I totally agree with the first two paragraphs malcolmbrown... I partly agree with the third one - possibly lower league football for a few years, but anything can happen over decades... But I think fans should stick with Town (and any other teams for that matter) in sunshine and in shadow - and all being well I’ll still come to see HTAFC twice a season in League 1 - even The Conference League heaven forbid... We would still have to have scored the penalties. I might get a few more games in next season as it looks like we are going down. Plenty more Saturday & Tuesday fixtures in League one.

To anyone still defending Dean Hoyle: Go fuck yourself. He should just sell it for whatever he can get tonight. Either that or take the points hit for administration.

Look at Barnsley. Almost eerily similar situation last season- play off losers, lose their manager then replace 3 times, boardroom strife. Have they gone down again this season? No!

Theres no reason under new ownership, providing they have some ambition that we cant be competing at the top of league one. If Hoyle has anything to do with the club next season i wont be going near it.

That was brutal, was surprised how flat the atmosphere was even before we went behind. We’ve lacked any kind of structure or plan all season any team we play with any sort of attacking cohesion brushes us aside with ease. Can’t see anything other than relegation at the moment but you never know.

We were down in the summer. This was the longest relegation in Town’s history. Hoyle coming back may have been necessary but it has been a disaster. You can take your pick from allowing CC to meekly leave because he would not back him, to appointing Schofield and then compounding it by again making a cheap appointment with Fothers. Warnockhas been brought in in a pathetic attempt to pacify the fans. That too has failed miserably.

I know it's 17:30, but I keep expecting Coventry to have scored a fifth.

Demoralising stuff, has that result and wins for Rotherham and Cardiff all but seemed our fate? Feels like it to me.

Didn't we 'take it easy' against Burnley in order that today's team could be firing on all cylinders in a (theoretically) winnable match?

Blackpool drew with Burnely.. He called that wrong Warnock. Best team for the game in front of us. We are so far behind its not worth thinking about the next game,

4 out of the last 5 performances don't happen under fozza.. We would be still in touch under fozza, despite the at times really poor football.
The decisions made this year from the 1st of July onwards have been bizarre and rudderless with zero plan whatsoever.

Done and dusted.
At least maybe now the ownership changes will progress knowing our 99% likely league status next year - perhaps the only blessing to come out of this.
Disgrace of a season. Owners, players, directors, managers - utter, utter embarrassment from top to bottom.

A even first half spoiled by a shit back pass instead of kicking a bouncing ball the way you are facing. Not sure what was said at half time. Came out looking like we didnt understand the game or had met before. Farcical non defending from a team that always has enough shirts goalside. Game lost and team lost. Warnock mustnt have seen Hamer play 90 minutes unmarked, because everyone else did. Not sure there is a move on from today?

Correct hard to quantify, but we always looked like we may either just stay up or just go down.... now we look absolutely nailed on for relegation.

Let’s hope these buyers still want us in league one And this is my thought exactly, they must have known there was a distinct possibility of relegation. Like someone else posted if we now scare off potential buyers then administration seems closer to realisation. I'm worried

Not that I want it that way Lossie (being in League 1) - but aye it’ll be more handy for far flung stragglers like me and you having more Saturday games ! I had planned the match v Sheffield United on Sat 22nd April, but can’t book transport or accommodation until I know the result of their FA cup Quarter Final clash with Blackburn Rovers - (hopefully a similar result to today) as that means ma preferred Friday - Monday in Huddersfield ! On another note I see Clachnacuddin FC beat lowly Keith 2-1 today in The Highland League and leapfrogged your beloved Lossiemouth (but only just) ! As I’m at the family home in Connel - I thought about nipping up to this match today and a booze up in Inverness tonight, pick up the motor tomorrow afternoon in Fort William and catch the 6pm Ferry back to Islay tomorrow night - but had a late night last night and a spicy curry that made me sleep more, plus I got mama mia out a spin to the lovely Ganavan Sands today lookin over to Lovely Lismore And Mull and she enjoyed it taking photos on her phone and smelling the salt sea air and listening to the waves lapping in - very therapeutic for her at almost 80 (in May all being well) so the footy plan for Clachnacuddin had to take a back seat !

The same thing happened back in the '70s. Won promotion to the top flight and then dropped like a stone to the bottom of division 4. I can see us going all the way once again. Never mind, by 2030 we will find another Mick Buxton to kick start the long road back. Remember those days well, and not the kind to look back on with nostalgia. That slide down the divisions was truly awful, club in a mess, sparse attendances, fans not bothered. I had been going since the mid 60's and loved it. I think it was about 1976, a lad I played football with said do you fancy going to watch Town. Not really fussed but went, lost 0-1 to Exeter City. Horrible experience, only went fleetingly till 1979/80 when my faith was restored. Hope you don't all have to go through those times again, but not confident to be honest. At least after today, I've accepted we're down - better in a way than a late goal on the last day condemning us to our fate. A real pity after the 2 PL seasons. The prize should have been financial stability for a long while, but the way historically Town seem to run things, history might be about to repeat itself.
