I think Coventry's game away at Preston tonight will go a long way in determining how their mindset will be for their game against us. Lose tonight against a team with the second-worst home record in the division and they'll surely begin to doubt their credentials of a team hoping to be in the Top 6 come May. Win, and we'll have a really tough task against them. Although, I'm sure it won't escape Warnock's notice how easily we contained them in the first half at Coventry a few weeks back. Going to be interesting at least. Heart says 2-1 to us if Preston win against them tonight, head says a draw. Can't really see us losing, though we need more than just one point here and there at this stage of the season. Massive game, can't wait. We struggle in every game we play, tonight's game will have no bearing on Saturdays match at all. Well, we'll see. Just think a defeat tonight for Cov at the division's second worst home team will totally deflate them. Fotheringham couldn't quite get us buzzing, but Warnock will have us moving upon them like a swarm of angry November wasps. It might not be pleasant for them. Edit: If they win, though, then I'd think Warnock would be slightly more cautious in how we approach it.

Mark Robins is a bloody good manager, had to deal with the home playing surface fiasco and come out on top. I would be happy to have him back.

Lots of talk...we need to do this... we need 4 pts from the next 2 games...we need 6....
The problem is we have been saying this all season. Its never happened. There was a thread asking how many points did we need out of the last 5. games... some voted 15...some voted 14???...a sensible poster might have said 9.... we got 5. Once more we didn't do enough.
I suggest its time we just look at the next game. Play our strongest 11...rest/save nobody and try and win that.

what will be intersting is, what impact did last week have on the team. As we have never had a settled team all season for many reason/ injuries, it will be intersting to see who is picked this week. I have always felt if we had been able to pick a settled team, i think we would be further up the league. I feel the long term injuries of Pearson, turton and Nakayama have really hurt the team, which is an obvs statment i know.
Last season we had a much more settled set up, this season its been like a lottery of who plays each week.
I personally would go with a team of
Vaclik Pearson,helik,lees Lowton,Camara,Hogg,Headley Hungbo,Ward,AK

NW said if any risk, he wouldn't pick a player. he said Hogg was touch and go so benched him ....

I totally get where people are comming from, in terms of the points totals and which games we should target.
In my view, every game this season, thus even till the end of the season can be a game we can win.
What stops us winning games? heart and desire to win, which i have watched been very lacking this season. What will relegate us, is not the lack of quaility but the lack of heart and desire this team is showing.
I do not care what team NW picked last week, that team was good enough not to get battered 4-0 it really was , but the heart and desire was lacking .This team all season has tried to get away with doing "just enough" it has been obvs all season.
The key prinicples that this club stands for and has been built on, have been lacking by the team all season, what makes it worse is they know it and don't seem to care.
The so called "leaders" have not once stood up this season to be counted, they have not galvanised the dressing room, or steadied the ship or helped a head coach get a reaction out of the others.

He has to play. Didn't have great 20 mins against brum but he has looked decent in all the others. Just get a sense that NW doesn't fancy him..

Coventry's home form has them top 8 but their away form is bottom 6.
No reason we can't get 3 points in this.

Totally right on the lack of heart, although I would probably use lack of character to describe this group of players. Only thing I would disagree slightly on is the quality comment - this is a bottom 6 squad in terms of quality all day long. Heart/character means you can be competitive in any single game. Add quality and you have the tools to be competitive in every game.

I think we need to win these 2 home games, I’ve very little confidence in us away from home so we need as many points as we can at home.

Seems to me AK has a far better football brain than anyone else in the squad, maybe hes too much of an individual for Warnock. I like him, seems to have the passion and skill set. Hope he starts on Saturday.

Don’t waste his talent. Play him when you want to win. Not when it’s a ‘free hit’.

Top penalty awarder (7) David Webb is making his 1st visit to JS on Saturday with the whistle, we just need to get the ball in the box......do we still have a penalty taker?

Don’t want to edit my previous post and my final comment on Free Hits is the itv commentator at the beginning of the Southampton v Grimsby said whilst Southampton were bottom of the PL this was a free hit for Grimsby. Don’t think they lost 4 0

Coventry have won 3 in a row up to tonight, think we will do well to take a point A point isn't good enough, we need all 3 to stand a chance. As good as Coventry and Bristol have been of late, we have to look at these two games as two of the more winnerble compared to the rest.
