Apart from the planning around opening times. Westie also has the foresight to avoid paying parking charges! He could be a Yorkshireman!

There’s not a thread yet regarding this game so I’ve just stuck it in The Run In thread instead... So yipeeeee - All booked up for the big Yorkshire Derby v Sheffield United on Thursday 4th May - will leave the family home at Connel on Wednesday 3rd early doors 6am, park the motor at ma mate’s holiday house in Knightswood in North West Glasgow to avoid parking charges, get the 11am Megabus from Glasgow (with a private bar on board ! ) to Manchester arriving 4pm then a wee pub crawl to Manchester Piccadilly have one there at The Balcony Bar (prices prices) then onwards in a daylight train journey that warms your scenic heart to HUDDERSFIELD !!! Check in then a night out in Huddersfield with a curry in between ma pub crawl ! - Thursday well lunch, then a liquid lunch and just taking in the whole atsmophere and build up to the game and then the big event itself ! Got a later bus back to Glasgow on the Friday Departing Manchester at 3pm so time for a few more in Huddy at the bars at the station this time - 🍺 🥃 😊 Glasgow is busy on the Friday so staying in ma old haunts in Clydebank where I spent five happy years with ma lovely Karen Mc A***** as prices are over £100 in Glasgow on the night... might possibly stay one more night and watch Dumbarton on the Saturday though any plans for it to be a Championship winning match have sadly evaporated of late for sure - But hey - looking forward to a pure fab trip once again to England’s finest town and county and of course hopefully the icing on the cake is a HTAFC Win !!! 👍 👍 Currently a scenic replacement bus journey from Manchester to Huddersfield Westie.. Not right sure how long it's going to be like that , but might be worth looking into Manchester to Halifax , then Halifax to Huddersfield.. Or you may be able to get from Manchester to Huddersfield via a change at Dewsbury too.. I think the major work at Stalybridge finished YESTERDAY and trains are now more or less normal between Hudds and Manchester midweek (still works and tedious replacement bus services happening at weekends and evenings though).

Especially away at Cardiff where we have managed just 1 draw in the last 10 visits Date & ko could be confirmed today, if picked by Sky could be anywhere between Fri 28th/Mon 1st......Currently they play Millers (A) on 25th & Town are at home to Blades on 4th. Rotherham v Cardiff moved to Thurs 27th, Cardiff v Town on Sun 30th at Midday.......part of 10 games in 10 days on Sky.

Cardiff will be thrilled. Play away to Rotherham on Thursday night, back early hours of Friday, then play Sunday at noon, whereas we'll have had 11 full days off before the Cardiff game

Rotherham v WBA - 1pm kick off. Come on Carlos, give us a good start to the weekend Looking at the half time stats, Rotherham were all over them. Let’s hope they don’t win, but not looking good so far.

So that's us 1 point and 2 places above the drop zone. QPR are way down on us on GD, Cardiff way up on us on GD. I think it'll end up being QPR, they look like they have no confidence whatsoever.
But if not them or Reading, we should be wishing ill on Cardiff over Rotherham, as we have them to play still. Well and truly in our hands at this point. Results go our way on Monday and we could be safe by 4 points and 4 places. Blackburn now have lost their last 2 without scoring.

I don't know how it pans out, I could check, but if the Blades secure promotion the game before us ideally, then that might be favourable. Failing that, and it appears nailed on, they might have clinched it well before that. Nothing to play for.

I think it unlikely that the bottom 2 will catch us now. We have just played Norwich, Boro at home and Millwall, Watford away and from those 4 games we have got 10 points (been behind in 3 of those games). There is still a long way to go but given other fixtures I think 48 will see some one safe. So I believe 6 points from 6 games should do it. I really cannot see either QPR or Reading getting more points than us from last 6 games.

Just done a quick 5 minute scan on the league tables through the season and unless I'm mistaken, today is the first time we have been outside the bottom 3 since 20th August 2022.

The longer the season progresses, the more 'diluted' the impact of our terrible start. The table since 14th September (the day DS was sacked) has us well clear of trouble.

Rotherham, QPR, Reading and Blackpool all have tricky away fixtures tomorrow - a good opportunity to pull a bit clear if we can get something.

Well for the recent matches v Millwall, Middlesbrough and Watford, I took HTAFC to fight hard but ultimately fall to a narrow loss... But boy am I delighted that Neil and his Terriers have proved me so wrong over these games -
But being the superstitious type when it comes to the football, I should be reasonabley confident without being cocky v Blackburn Rovers but I’ll revert to ma ‘if it ain’t broke then why mend it’ philosophy and keep predicting the recent trend to see if it brings Town victory so then...
PREDICTION = Huddersfield Town 1 v Blackburn Rovers 2
C’mon Neil n’ yer snarling Terriers - Prove me wrong once again ! 👍

11 points from the 5 fixtures we've just had shows that anything is possible at this stage of the season. Just imagine if we'd picked up say 5 points....it would be pretty much all over.
Trick is now how we approach some.of the games upcoming against teams not in that top 8 quality. Same as now or try to be more expansive?
I think we still might need 4 points at least...probably 5. One win in next two games means we put ourselves in a position to draw against Cardiff and Reading to keep them at bay rather than have to win

4 points may or may not be enough, but don't forget with us playing next Tuesday rather than Wednesday, that after we play Sunderland, that Reading, QPR and Cardiff all play 3 games before we face Cardiff. Impossible to work out what the table will look like by then.
If we'd won today then yeah 4 more points would possibly be enough. Hopefully Sheffield Utd can do us a favour before we play Swansea, by beating Cardiff. We'll see what happens though

Can’t help but feel we’ve been a bit screwed over by the way the fixtures have fallen. Having to play a top team a few days before the Reading game gives every other side a nice full week of recovery
To compound this we’ve had Cardiff moved closer to the Sheff Utd game.
Going to be a massive physical demand on us in that 8/9 day period if we find ourselves having to claw back let’s say 3 points.
Ideally Sheff U will be up by then and coasting.

Cardiff have some tough fixtures to come and they travel to Burnley on the final day. Our trip down there will be pivotal, as will their match at Rotherham.

But we have a long break from the 18th to 30th whilst the others play 2 or 3 gamesinbetween them dates. If results go our way, we may only need 1 result from the last 2 games.
