Happy with a point We gave it all, they were technically better We were shot after 70 mins, but put in the context of our recent run, cant really complain Anyone feeling sore for not getting all 3, look at Reading at Preston, that will have hurt, plus they have Paul Ince to deal with Things are looking up UTT Well they don't have to deal with Paul Ince any longer...lets see if it makes a difference! Big shame that

Shock, horror. Why does this make me feel quite proud? We’re awesome at setting daft football records First goal directly from a corner First golden goal (I think) Longest unbeaten run (not including getting beaten in a final 😂, that really wound folk up) Getting promoted to the Prem with a negative goal difference Anymore?

Playing out from the back was OK last season. We had a settled defence, and also a midfield that they could rely on to hold possession. Without going back to the O’ Brien debate, we’ve not had that this year. I think Warnock realised that when we did play it out from the back, we invariably had the defender then hit a high ball up the channels, so why not ask your keeper to do that. It’s also the reason he likes Ward, who wins more than his fair share of headers. The only exception of course, is when we get the ability to break on the counter, but when you play a system that is highly likely to concede possession, you have to acknowledge those chances are likely to be fewer. It might not be the most attractive football to watch, but it’s obviously about trying to make the opposition play at you from much higher up the pitch, so that you can then organise yourself to try and repel the inevitable onslaught. I actually skipped through the game when I got home yesterday, and it was only really the last 20 mins when Blackburn started to create their chances. They had all the possession up to 70 mins, but aside of their goal, they’d actually been quite toothless.
As others have said, best that we get used to this attritional type of game until we’ve hopefully confirmed our place in the division. It's all about opinions but I think it's pretty unfair to say a side that had 21 efforts at goal, 11 on target, not to mention quite a few heroic blocks from defenders, were quite toothless. Our GK was clear MoM for us & pulled off some terrific saves.

We were in trouble because he fails to sweep on many occasions. The first goal yesterday he came to narrow the angle and fell over backwards instead of standing up. We have different views of what goalkeepers in professional football must be able to do. We dont ask him to play as we did with others?? They all make the flying saves, in truth if you have decent reflexes anyone can to a extent. His positioning and then desire to dive instead of using his feet to save cost us the week before at Watford. Im not blaming him for yesterday they got in our box and stayed there for so long it was simply a matter of time. The only question was could they score 3. I thought their lad finished brilliantly for their first goal. Not many keepers would have saved that one. He’s simply trying to make himself as big as possible and the bloke dinks it over him. They were trying to play intricate football just as Boro were, both had to resort to aerial balls to get their second goals, which is testament to our lads throwing their bodies in the way to stop the tippy tappying having any effect for them. He did a 'Seaman', going down and falling back. Staying big is not what he did. He stands up it hits him. The testament is to their lack of ability to hit the target or avoid our keeper. Another day, same tactics we lose by 3 or 4. Because we dont pose a threat at all for so long and we had no intention of breaking with any numbers we are allowing any sort of attack. The first goal is made by a short diagonal pass into the box??? Sorry it was a gift to be 2 up and we blew it. We have to trust ourselves a bit more which after boro and Watford I thought we might? Two up, you havent won anything. Game still has to be won even if you dont score again, we conceded 2, 3 games in a row, giving up any intention to try and score again is just giving up any advantage or initiative you have gained.

We know all that galph but from a team who were hopeless in almost everything they tried they're now a team who have scored eleven goals in five games, its a bit churlish to criticize goalscoring when we've just won three and drawn two of our last five, scoring in every one and all against good opponents, sometimes you come up against opponents who were just lots better on the day, that happened yesterday, we still got something though.

Are we talking about the player who was voted player of the match? The second goal was an excellent low save from a close range header. The reason they scored is the lad who was first to the rebound was on as a 73 minute sub and was quicker than our defenders, who were knackered. I have had my doubts about VaclÃk but he was outstanding yesterday. He came and punched, really well, when needed and he caught a few being challenged by opposition players. Best I have seen him play and I don’t think Nicholls would have done better. We were in trouble because he fails to sweep on many occasions. The first goal yesterday he came to narrow the angle and fell over backwards instead of standing up. We have different views of what goalkeepers in professional football must be able to do. Im not blaming him for yesterday they got in our box and stayed there for so long it was simply a matter of time. The only question was could they score 3. "Its a lucky point and we need a goalkeeper not a camera save merchant." You are singling out Vaclik. No mention of the defenders who didn't pick up the runs for both goals. "The first goal yesterday he came to narrow the angle and fell over backwards instead of standing up" OK, lets address that. As a keeper in that position you try and do three things. Get out quickly, narrow the angles and make yourself 'big'. He did the first two. With the third it is very hard to cover everything. 9 out of 10 times the striker will try and poke it to the side of you or through you legs. So you get a split second to decide how your body should be. If you stay big, with your arms up and they hit it low it is likely to get past you. If he had been a foot or so closer to the striker he would have saved it. The time you have, against very good players, is next to nothing. How you can watch a performance like that and single him out for blame for both goals I just cannot fathom.

Re the score 6 away in a league game and not win, if you're talking about in England then yes probably.....if in general, then I refer you to Motherwell 6-6 Hibs from 2010 (Hibs were 4-1 and 6-2 up that day, Lukas Jutkiewicz scored the equaliser in injury time)

Never for a second have I said they were not a dangerous team going forward. A team given time and space in and around your box will look much better and will produce chances. A team given 45 minutes to play, even us, would produce something. We had little possession in the previous games but what we had was used to attack successfully and to move the ball up the pitch at worst. Neither Boro or Watford had the free possesion given to blackburn close to our goal. We got it wrong, thats all, its not about the possesion you relinquish, its where you give it up that counts. Some bravery in winning the ball and supporting forward moves worked for us, not sure where it went on monday??? Always believed losing the ball up the pitch was better than losing it near your own goal. Having the ball up the pitch being better even for short periods than them having it around or in your box. The law of averages works against you when you simply defend deep, the longer you do it the more the odds are stacked against you. They never had to chase back, they rarely had to go back in their own half and start again. They even had a few breaks where we forgot to foul them long before it became a danger? If we are shithousing and Im not against it, lets do it properly. We lack pace, we all know it, but the fear of being broken on or out paced became almost suicidal on monday.

Been an issue in our side since Mooy, we have no one in midfield who is strong in possession and can make themselves time on the ball. Needs addressing going forward imo. Edit: actually Camara can do it, but not sure what’s happening with him
