Never understood the obsession with goal difference, when have we ever been relegated on goal difference? Maybe none, but we won a league title on the smallest goal average ever, against of all teams Cardiff. If it wasn't so as Jean Luc Picard would say, then we wouldn't be triple champions. So yes, under normal circumstances such things do apply, which is why they're rules.

Had there been a few more games to play, writing this off might have been feasible.....but too risky now. And as you note, GD could be critical....ours is currently only 2 better than Reading's. If Blades/Reading both beat us by 1 goal, we'd end up all square with the Royals. We would lose on GD. We are +2 on Reading. Lose by 1 goal to sheff, +1 Lose by 1 goal To Reading -1 Oops.............

Of course we can go down on goal difference. If we drop from here it can only be on goal difference. Reading are 3 behind us with 1 to play If that’s a comment on my earlier post, you’ve missed my point. If we do go down on GD, it will be because of the current GD not goals that are scored in the last 2 games. From here, it’s only points that matter.

I think the Blades will have got their lap of honour out of the way in those last 2 home games.
Big night for our defence methinks, also keep Berge as quiet as we can in midfield…
1 point will do it, hopefully a repeat of a more recent escape with one game to go?
🤞🤞🤞

Nicholls has started time-wasting already. 0-0 will do us! How long before the refs cotton on to him again?

1 point from last two games to guarantee champ survival … to be offered that 2 months ago Jesus Christ yes.
Here’s hoping we can bag at least a point on Thursday then the last game can chill out. (Fully expecting us to lose Thursday then have to avoid defeat last game 🤣😉🔵⚪️)

If Rotherham lose we are safe. If Rotherham don't lose and we get zero points we are down. If we get 1 or more points we are safe. There is no combination where the number of goals scored/conceded in getting those points will affect our final position.

Don't rule out the possibility that both Town and Reading can survive. Town beat the blades and, following a monumental piss up, lose against Reading. Meanwhile Rovrum lose twice......

Get about Sheffield as we did with Cardiff.. Players dont want to be injured for their holidays...they have just had their party at home...kick fuck out of them I say... is that a yellow ? That Pearson challenge today was a "second-half yellow" if ever I saw one.

No reason why we can't win this, will Sheffield United be arsed for it? They had a good win yesterday but that was their presentation game and last home one - Hopefully they’re not 100% focused on Thursday ! (And we are 100% plus + + ) 😊 Exactly this.

Billy Sharp is sitting on 249 league goals, and I am told they want to do all they can to help him reach 250. I suspect he wont be on the beach. He might not get much pitch time next season.

It worries me that the team put in a tremendous effort to capture a point against Sheffield Utd, and lose.
Now they are too knackered to keep Reading/Andy Carroll out who will be well rested by then
I’ll leave any problem solving required to Neil !
FWIW I think defending for 100 mins is more strength sapping than playing on the front foot. However look at Cardiff today compared to the effort they put in against Rotherham.

Neil says he was chocked today to have both sets of fans applauding him after the game, he then said it was nice to see Cardiff safe 'as well', maybe we didn't just agree on moving the game forward 24 hours, if the roles were reversed would Town be going all out to deprive the Blades a point......Possibly not, book the day off Friday..UTT.

very up in arms about the Middlesbrough comments. I would've thought they'd be familiar with his petty feud with Chris Wilder! I think they're bitter, but can see their point of view. We were lucky enough to have rose tinted memories of Warnock even before this season, and he left them under a cloud.

Even better Neil Warnock getting his 50th Huddersfield Town Win v Reading on the last day as well ! 😊 👍

Never understood the obsession with goal difference, when have we ever been relegated on goal difference? Not sure about being relegated on Goal Difference or Goal Average but we certainly won The Top League on Goal Average v the team we beat today ironically ! ⚽️ 👍

If they are going to spent all night trying to tee one bloke up it might suggest they aren’t quite as focused as they have been. Who knows, shot to nothing for us on Thursday now.

Obviously they’ve kicked on, but I don’t think we’ve got too much to fear. We need to take the game to them as we did today and see where it gets us.
