Hopefully Sheffield will be as half arsed as Cardiff were And Middlesbrough today ! 😬 And Burnley against Reading a couple of weeks back, which is why we still need another point!

If I was a Blades player seeing other players getting injured & sent off in the last couple of Championship matches it would have me diving behind the couch until pre season, I expect the bulk of those who will be in the PL squad next season to be benched now by manager PH where possible.....Although plenty will be watching the rest on 'Sky Football channel' red button.

I feel confident we can get something from this game. Sounds like Preston melted on Saturday and it was a bit of a roll over. Their last home game in front of a bumper crowd. Different ball game on Thursday. They'll likely rotate a few players. Warnock will have them fired up. Can see us getting at least a point

Surely they will play Sharp. A goal from him is a near certainty. We will have score at least once to get our point.

Huge thanks to Phil at Oban Wool & Needlecraft Centre for taking the time to discuss a design with me for a bespoke Westie - DATM - westislandterrier T- shirt ! It’s coming down with me and I’ll probably wear it on Matchday 45 v Sheffield United on Thursday evening and in the pub crawl during the day... So for the clientele on DATM who enjoy a refreshment or three before the match - if yous see an overweight lad with a Scottish accent and a T- shirt with the above bold writing - then join me for a dram and a beer and we can put the footy world and The HTAFC world to rights ! 😊 ⚽️ 🥃 🍺 👍 Where are you going to be, beforehand. I haven't decided yet whether to drive to work and back and then get a lift from our lass down to Aspley and walk on, or whether to get dropped off at work and walk back from Bradley Park.

There are 4 possible outcomes from the next two games that will see us safe and only 2 that will send us down. Trust in Neil. 9 possible outcomes. 8 of them we stay up. WW = Stay up. WD = Stay up. WL = Stay up. DW = Stay up. DD = Stay up. DL = Stay up. LW = Stay up. LD = Stay up. LL = Go Down. I meant 2 outcomes in each game to see us safe but I'll prefer your list as it sounds more achievable

If we lose on Thursday, which easily could and probably should. i hope everyone stays at the end.
Make some noise, let them know what we think of recent efforts and that we are confident going into the Reading game.

Normally I’m there for Saturday games Porroh which means after a late (or very early) session on the Friday I’m usually out around midday and The Yorkshire Rose then The Vulcan then the match, however last year at this time I had two evening matches so more time to do more pubs that I’d normally be in after the game on the night out rather than before it so to speak - but try to also pace it a bit as I don’t wanna be too bladdered and staggering down Leeds Road by 7pm ! 😊 I haven’t been to The Aspley for a while but I do remember it as being a nice pub in a lovely setting down by the canal... I’ll have a black T-shirt on Porroh with that writing in bold in white and a Terrier motif as well back and front ! I’m top heavy with a beer belly for Scotland, Britain and Europe to boot and ma Scottish accent (West) should stand out a bit but should be a lot clearer than that of Foddy our previous manager at HTAFC ! 😉 👍

Over the last 10 games we are 7th in the form table Warnock would have probably got us in the playoffs had he come when schofield got sacked Sheffield United top 24 from 10. Reading bottom 6 points from 10

Reading bottom 6 points from 10 So basically they haven’t won in 12, so drawn 6 out of 10, and due to points deduction have same points as they had 10 games ago.

WL = Stay up. DW = Stay up. DD = Stay up. DL = Stay up. LW = Stay up. LD = Stay up. LL = Go Down. Sounds great until you factor in the first game is v Sheff Utd, second best team in the league, second in the form table and just walloped Preston who themselves are top 6 in the form table. They could play a weakened, slightly half arsed team and still beat us comfortably just by using their quality and playing with freedom. After the quite brilliant run we've been on I'm quite staggered that there's only us and Reading left (who are only down there due to points deduction). Just shows how far off we were and I think even the optimists amongst us were certain we were down a couple of months back. Also very fecking annoyed with the likes of Burnley for dishing points out to our rivals like sweeties for that 3 game spell! The point they gave Reading and the last minute equaliser Reading scored v Wigan. It does have a slight vibe of 2001 where you think the gods might be conspiring to snatch away the greatest of escapes right at the very end. It's a very tricky situation, we could end up mentally and physically exhausted after Thursday having lost then have to face a Reading team who have had a long rest and the huge boost of still being in with a chance. Please Town lets get something Thursday so we can give Neil and Ronnie the well earned send off they deserve for completing the job, in relaxing circumstances! I don't want being denied promotion by var then relegated the following season by HawkEye to be another bookmark in the clubs history, alongside appointing a complete imbecile as head coach during a championship relegation battle of course!

I agree with all of this. For the record I was not suggesting that each of the 9 outcomes was equally likely. It's still in our hands, but if we lose on Thursday then Reading can say the same. With - as you say - the benefit of having had a rest beforehand. On paper we look fairly safe, and I wouldn't swap places with Reading right now, but I can't say I'm not nervous. We only need 1 point, but that point will not be easy to come by.

Clappers on the seats on Thursday.
Dependent on the result they may also supply *arse nipping clamps for the game on Monday…
(*please don’t ask me if they’re an actual thing)

After a long fortnight of ‘waiting’ and ‘hoping’ to see how other results went - and it was a mixed bag probably 70-30 NOT in our favour - I think we should all take today as a well earned footy free from footy stress day before the adrenaline kicks in big time for a gigantic game v Sheffield United on Thursday...
I actually think that for myself, with packing, constructing ma travel bar, travelling, a few in Glasgow and Manchester before Huddersfield, check in etc, and the live atmosphere and build up to the match itself that it’ll be a lot less tense than it would be like waiting to see how things had went in this last two weeks -
So do enjoy a very well earned ‘chill out away from football day’ one and all Town fans...
Thursday won’t be long in coming around !!! 😉

Reading will think they’re down, we’ll give them a massive kiss of life if we lose on Thursday, something I fear we may struggle to recover from! You could argue we’d be in a better situation without Readings points deduction, we’d still have 3 teams to catch and Reading would be on the beach!

Flying back in with two of my boys on Thursday afternoon - Monday night. The first game my eldest (7) went to was Man Utd at home, the last home game in the Premier League. The first game I'm brining my middle one (3) to will be Reading on Monday. Hopefully not our last game in the Championship.

Sheff United can say what they want, there is no way their players will be as up for this as Town’s.
They have their careers to think about and the prospect of an injury stopping them from potentially playing in the Prem next season will mean they aren’t at 100%. It’s natural.
That’s not to say they can’t still beat us, of course they can. But, it gives us a massive boost in only needing to get a point.
