To all Huddersfield Town fans today.... ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY ! 😊 😊 😊
A fantastic feeling being safe given where we were and we can all relax and enjoy whether we are at the game, just in Huddersfield pubs, afar like me in The Whisky Isle, or further away like Lossiemouth Terrier, or those further away again like in The International fans thread - wherever yous are Let’s fill our boots and milk today win, lose or draw...
Let’s show Mr Negle we are Huddersfield Town - and equally Huddersfield Town fans - first impressions last they say so let’s show him the good people we are !
(Did anyone see the nice comments from fans of many other clubs on the BBC match report on Thursday in their football scores section - it made me really feel good that did as fans of rival and other clubs don’t generally met out praise readily for sure) -
For myself - I’ve the bottle of champagne chilling - it’s getting cracked at 1pm after ma toast n’ cheese, tomato chutney and ground peppercorn, it’s getting emptied, then I’m off to the Lochindall Hotel up the road to give Paul (the very decent and pleasant barman Reading fan) his consolation beers and then watch the first half there and back to the house to celebrate with Tennents Lager n’ Lime and whisky with ma best mate Ronnie (whose been to Huddersfield a few times and loved it) and we’ll toast HTAFC ‘s amazing escape in style !
Enjoy your day each and every Town fan one and all !!! 🥃 😊 🍺 😊 🍾 😊 🥃 👍

It sucks for the Reading fans. It really does. But the owners and money men have been gambling for a while.
Just before COVID their wages were 221% of their turnover. Last year this was 150%. They knew the rules, they knew they were under scrutiny and they still spaffed high high wages on Jeff Hendrick, Andy Carroll and Shane Long.
Whether you agree with the approach, we as a club, cut our cloth accordingly. Last season we didnt spend much on transfers and this year we recruited from lower leagues and kept the wage bill down.
By overspending Reading FC had an advantage over many other teams and have paid the price. Although by end of today hopefully the points deduction wont have mattered.

Strange that Reading have a Top 10 home record (10-8-5), but a bottom-of-the-table away record (3-3-16 so far) in the Championship this year. Would be interesting to hear from their gaffer how this has come to pass. There's obviously not much wrong with their morale in general if they can muster up such a home record. So, difficult to call this one - think I might wait to see if there's been any gossip about our lads shifting some ale over the weekend (i.e. await Neil Warnock's said in jest, but nevertheless conducted?, breathalysing test)

It’s always the fans who have to suffer.

It’ll be good to see Naby Sarr. Dear me did i not like it when him and Schofield were playing together but still a very good player on his day. True. Anybody remember why he left Town after such a good contribution to our promotion-pushing season year? Were Reading offering him more money, otherwise he'd have stayed? With our record for signing ex-players he'll be out to play a blinder this aft (if laking).

Town to get their 1st penalty in I don't know how long today as nothing is riding on this game.
Infact, Town to get a ridiculous amount of decisions their way.

Oh what a night! May the 4th 2023. Wardy scored, it was a fucking dream. What a player, what a night!
Enjoy everyone! Who would have thought we could have such positivity only just a few months ago. Football, eh?
As always…UTT

Yes, just heard too that he was out of contract so went on a free to Reading.

Gave those lads out of contract a good old send off as well as Warnock and Ronnie today those in attendance, it may be the last time we see a fair few of them.

Decided not to travel across as I've been suffering from a chest infection for last 10 days and don't want to make it worse - probably different decision if weather was like yesterday - so will watch it on iFollow so at least Town will get some money. It means I will miss out on the atmosphere which should be fantastic. Think I may switch to a season ticket for next year even if I only get to to 10 or 12 matches. UTT.
