Sounds sensible in the long term for me. He needs to know what we have before the window opens again.

I can see that we are missing a striker and struggling on until the January window opens may not be a good thing. I can also see that they have already checked and found that there may not be the quality out there that we need or can afford. Anyway it doesn't appear that we will be getting anyone in until January at the earliest.

If we could afford him, and he'd be willing to come here then yes - I'd take him in a heartbeat. RW is one position I think we need.
BUT there may be more to be gained by DM assessing those players at his disposal now before dipping into the transfer market.

Maybe they thought he was too old Maybe he has lost his spark and is looking for a pension, apparently the club don't want to spend any money. I don't know it could be anything, I would have hoped we would have brought someone in but we didn't. Now the Football League World (FLW) web page is reporting that Darren Moore is not planning to sign any free agents.

It wouldn't surprise me if tried to get Michael Smith from 'The (now apparently skint) Massive' in January, even on loan. Trying to get long term purchases in January is very difficult and we still need a striker/focal point. We may need 2 seeing as Ward has gone back to the treatment table now his dad isn't manager!

We have no idea what budget we will have in January, if any, Smith is a bit younger than Gary Madine so that may help. I think that we will just have to wait and see what January brings.

We have seen that Ward can run around a lot, but produce very little and be out injured a fair bit. With a limited budget short term fixes are just dead money, we would be getting a good young player that would last longer and increase in value.

Examiner says we're trialling Kallum Cesay, 21 year old right back/midfielder from Spurs. Sierra Leone International and previously trialled at Werder Bremen.

He looked a decent player yesterday for the B team, I know it was only the B team but he is worth looking at for a few more games.

He can play as a defensive midfield player as well, I'd say we've found our Hogg replacement 😉🤣. PS: I'm not sure all the yellows would count for suspensions as 2 of them were in the same match and he was sent off.

Kallum has been in training and even trained with 1st team squad during last week, might be just an extended look at him especially with a few away on international duty. Or we could be looking at a short term contract if he has impressed enough.

alltimesportnews.co.uk/?p=980&fbclid=IwAR1f3MyriiurGfAfzENahsBGIxGp0SwxVPGeQoKlh72L6PFwgr57juv33mAFollowing his departure from Aston Villa, DJ Sturridge is being evaluated by Huddersfield Town, as their X account has verified. The free agent is being eyed by Huddersfield Town. On Tuesday afternoon, the attacker participated for the Championship’s B team. At the end of the previous season, Sturridge, 22, severed his connection with Aston Villa. The Premier League team decided not to offer him a new contract after his current one expired at the end of June.

He bagged 2 in a 3-3 draw arguably a low risk move if we offer him a deal. presumably a low wage, no fee.

Few news articles online over the last few days saying that he's 'closing in on a deal' with us. What strikes me as being a bit odd about him is that he's 22 and obviously been at Villa since he was a kid. Surely he'd have been released at 18/19 if they didn't think he was a first team prospect, yet by the same token they've never sent him out on loan anywhere? Either way, it doesn't fill me with confidence that no other clubs have offered him a deal......

His Dad's company Sturridge Sports Management is DJ's agent and also Darren Moore's according to this. www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sturridge-sports-management/beraterfirma/berater/6514
