Hope Lang isn't another Mahoney, feels a bit like that. Shown they are decent players but signing for us on the back of a poor season.

Mahoney has been a really strange signing. What were the club thinking on this one? I can’t recall him getting a real chance but maybe he’s just not at the required level, so I’d assume a parting of the ways would make sense.

He had an off season, but that mirrors Wigan and their performances and the fact he hasn't been paid 3 times during the season. Lang was one of the best young talents in the Championship. Comparisons with Mahoney can't even be done as Mahoney is just not good enough. |

Nixon today:
Luton Town are moving for Blackburn’s Belgian keeper Thomas Kaminski - after turning down the chance to sign promotion hero keeper Ethan Horvath.
Kaminski will jump at the chance of moving to the Premier League although he will have to compete for a games, with Asmir Begivic set to sign on a free too.
Blackburn will want around £6 million for Kaminski whose wages are also inside the levels that the Hatters plan to pay in the top flight.
Huddersfield’s Lee Nicholls is also an option if they cannot agree a fee for Kaminski. But his price is also higher than they want to pay.
Horvath was shocked to find out he was not staying.
The American star helped the Hatters to the Premier League and they had an agreement to buy him from Nottingham Forest at just £1.5 million.

Karlan Grant got the same - 'only cuts in and shoots or scores penalties'. If it hits the net, it counts the same as if it was something new and radically amazing. Which then makes him ineffective. Do not understand your Rhodes comment? He has never been labelled a one trick pony. He scored all types of goals did Rhodes, he was the total opposite of a one trick pony. As I said, he has had a good spell has JK, but people have short memories. He had a very poor 12 month spell in which he failed in Lg1. It could be coincidence, but it is amazing how he had a great end to the season when he has chance to get a new improved deal either here or elsewhere. Without that form, he would have struggled to get a contract in league 1. |

The only exceptions I'd make if they were young and definitely able to get a fee for later. By young I mean above the tribunal threshold. |
