It really doesn't unless the definition of formidable was changed in the latest edition of the Collins English Dictionary It really does. With the right new striker this could be a potent force. It could also be dog shit. That's why nicovaesen used the word "potential" I agree I also think we could see 343 Centre backs from Pearson, Helilk, Yuta, Lees, Ayina CM from Rudoni, Kasumu, Hogg, REG LWB Headley RWB Thomas Front three - Koroma, Diarra, Jones, Ward (maybe Rudoni) Ruffels plays a few positions and Turton to come back Clearly more players to come but there's a good first 11 and exciting bench pretty much there

That’s worth a ban slipping that in.😂

Headley has all the potential to play a similar role to Toffolo, which only really leaves you needing to replace/replicate O’Brien in the centre and accepting you don’t have a Rolls Royce like Colwill at CB.

A few more outgoings would bear no relevance to the squad for the season in my view. Rhodes, Mahoney and Rowe would be the 3 I wouldn't include in my starting XI or matchday squad. With 2 or 3 expected new signings to come in(ideally permanent), I can also see others leaving even if on loan, such as Simpson, Spencer and High. Without bringing in loans to this point, there would still be a good opportunity to improve the quality further.
In terms of game time, the squad with the 3 departures I've named is about 3-4 players short. Between last seasons injured players and Koroma/Sorba this is reduced down to about 2-3, so it's understandable why 2 or 3 new signings is what has been spoken about often by the club. I see no reason to panic but would definitely hope the club has brought some in well before we enter the last week or the window. What other clubs do shouldn't matter either.

I also think we could see 343 ... CM from Rudoni, Kasumu, Hogg, REG ... A central partnership of Hogg and REG could be a real winner in a 343, putting Rudoni further forward to make a 3412. I think it was the Middlesborough game where REG really shined.

Agree it would mean teams would struggle to pass through us in the middle meaning they'd have to try and attack on the wings - where we have grafters like Headley, Thomas, Diarra and now Koroma making it hard. Then if the crosses come in there's Helik and Pearson who are good in the air I think we're be very solid We also know NW won't overplay at the back meaning fewer giveaway goals which we've been guilty And we will add to the current nucleus of the squad!

Rose coloured glasses there I think.

Rose coloured glasses there I think. The fact Hogg was regarded anywhere close to Billing for talent just shows most fans should be ignored. As for the stick he got at the end, he only spoke the truth. We were a joke and Siewart an absolute weapon.

Based on what I saw last season Brooky would be more effective from the bench than Mahoney. Rowe wouldnt be missed either but Rhodes certainly would IMO if we don't sign another striker. There seems to be something afoot there with the latest news story about him being back in favour. Maybe we're pushing for a better offer on him.

Rose coloured glasses there I think. 90% of the negative comments towards Billing were nonsense. Still makes me chuckle how everyone on here was calling him lazy but statistically, he was in the top 3 in the league for distance covered. I'm happy to see him doing so well. An incredibly talented player.

We won't get an offer for him and he won't become back in favour . It will all be about the deal that's offered to him and whether he can get as much at his next club as at ours. Maybe we will have to pay something towards it. But no one will be paying money to us

hope this is not us looking for a Nicholls replacement. That would top off a pretty shit transfer window if we lost our best player. Blackpool had most goals against last year. This guy previously was deemed not good enough by Preston at this level. I know we didn't have much to go by with Nicholls when he signed but surely Maxwell would be no more than competition for Bilo.

That would top off a pretty shit transfer window if we lost our best player Bilo needs to get out and play games - sitting on the bench all season isn't going to do much for his development. Bringing in some experienced backup would be a sensible move. Maxwell narrowly missed out on being part of the "Wagner Revolution": downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/100434/chris-maxwell
