The Hungbo transfer is a strange one, I've been quite relaxed about our lack of activity so far but with two weeks to the start of the season we really need to get our shit in order for the start of the season. For whatever reason, Neil has decided that he wasn't what we needed. He did leave him on the bench at times. I'll judge us in September but I think we'll surprise a few this season.

He scored two fantastic goals and one goal against Cardiff which was legendary but most of would have scored it.
His all round game was very average. And didn’t run much.
NW was never gonna sign this lad.

The Hungbo thing seems a bit odd. German second tier is a very random destination...id have thought based on the couple he scored he mightve had some interest in the Championship or Scotland.
But as many said Koroma, Thomas, Jones and Headley fill those winger slots for me with priority being a centre forward and a centre mid.

Was hoping we'd be in for him. Although once NW signed on, I did lose a bit of hope on it.
Reckon he will do well there, and I wish him all the best.
I'm unsure how I feel about how quiet it's been. We've kept the nucleus of the squad who performed well under NW. Part of me would like for us to make our signings sooner rather than later to get them with the squad, work on chemistry and have somewhat of a pre-season with the group. The other part is thinking, I'd rather them take their time and get the right signings through the door. The longer it waits, the more pressure it is to get it right.

I think some of the things Warnock said about the team and certain players last season need to be reassessed. His job last season was to keep us up and get the team playing with the view that he would be gone by May. I genuinely don't think he had any intention of staying on. Now that he has, he needs to look a lot closer at what the squad offers and who he needs on board for a 46 game season. He alluded to this himself when talking about the Cornwall trip. Wanting to look at the likes of Spencer, Hudlin and Ayina a bit closer, because he'd probably never considered using them last year.
Certain decisions he will obviously stick with from last season such as Boyle, Mahoney and Holmes aren't going to play whilst NW is in charge but I think there's others that he has needed to look a lot more closely at now that the 2023/24 season is his problem.
Personally I think that is why we haven't seen any new faces yet and hopefully now NW knows what we need, what he wants and we can start to make some moves.

Hungbo did pretty well in the games he played I thought. Maybe we were interested but he decided because he didn't play as often as he wanted last season he'd try elsewhere?
Nuremberg are a big club in Germany, they average over 30k at home.
Who's to say we don't bring in someone even better on loan this season?
Anyway, good luck to the lad.

Outgoings, other than Bilo, seem to have gone a bit quiet.
Any others, particularly Rhodes, moved any closer?

I can see where NW is coming from. The difference between Hungbo and Thomas is quite simple really. One works for the team and one is an individualist. Thomas works hard defensively as well as possessing probably the deadliest crossing ability in the league. It’s not Thomas’s fault that the team haven’t converted the amount of chances he has created. Hopefully we’ll be making a signing that solves this problem. Exactly, people forget what Thomas brought to the team in the play off season. It's easy to remember set pieces and assists because they were do damn good but that wasn't all he was good at, far from it. We just have to hope we see that version, or even better, again.

Tennai Watson linked on twitter. Mk Dons defender now a free agent Birmingham also linked, right sided wing back. If he can fill in at right back, then that's where we need cover until Turton is fit. Also, there's really only Sorba who's a naturally right sided wide player. Koroma, Jones and Headley are all better on the left.

I thought hungbo worked tirelessly to be honest and I was impressed as to how much effort he put in on the defensive side It looked that way to me too but we're not football coaches and NW obviously wasn't impressed with that side of his game, probably not a lack of effort but more a lack of awareness/intelligence in that part of his game?

Wages will probably be a factor too with Hungbo. Who knows how much Watford were subsidising his income last season.

Has to be the right signings for Neil to use. If it goes to the last day and he gets what he really wants in incomings then we may have to live with the first few games maybe not being what we want, result wise??? Its tough waiting and nothing much looking like its happening but Im sure behind the scenes it is..UTT

Might mean we are actually in for the guy from Palace on loan? What might and who at Palace? Rak-Sakyi - can't remember where it was mentioned though. Just seen Keinan Davis can leave Villa aswell on a perm or loan, reckon there will be a few Champ clubs after him.

Davis is a warnock player, guessing that wage and fee would be an issue

He could probably do with a season long loan to a league 2 club who will play him all season.

Minutes wise he's a 1 in 4 striker in the Championship. I think he's got the attributes to improve with the right manager and putting his roots down somewhere. Warnock could be brilliant for him but I doubt we could afford him, unfortunately.
