Solid back up for Nicholls 👌 Arguably too solid. I'm just thinking that this will give us more flexibility to sell Nicholas if the right deal comes along. Hopefully I am wrong.

Every morning I wake up and think work won't be so bad because I can keep checking the rumours and maybe today's the day we sign someone.
It's quite demoralising checking the forum with no real concrete rumours to get excited about other than a 2nd choice keeper 😅
Roll on tomorrow!

It's quite possible that Harratt could step up to the plate and be better than any affordable signing. Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, but he seems to have an instinct that cannot be taught. i think around Christmas he will come into his own if gets decent game time What kind of game are you referring to? I hear Neil likes pheasant or a bit of venison for his Christmas dinner.

Just seen on Twitter Nixon thinks Rhodes is now back in the first team squad. This and an article where NW is now saying won’t be relying on a striker for all goals this season seems to say we’re struggling to get the strikers we want in. Hope I’m wrong It's quite possible that Harratt could step up to the plate and be better than any affordable signing. Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, but he seems to have an instinct that cannot be taught. Seven goals in 49 appearance, six of which came in League 2 suggests it’s very much wishful thinking on your part. Was it you who suggested no one else in the club could have scored that goal against Watford? Remember being bewildered reading that comment at the time. Apologies if it wasn’t you.

No that wasn't me. Not a particular fan of the guy, but he seems to have developed physically and perhaps mentally. I think he can benefit from the supply that Thomas, Koroma and others can put into the box. I suspect that I wouldn't be thinking this way if it were not for the involvement of Neil Warnock...

I won't be complaining about him being too solid if Lee Nicholls gets a long term injury after the deadline! TBH, I'm not even that worried about LN being sold if we get a decent amount of money for him that we can use to strengthen elsewhere. Better that than having him run his contract down. He's playing at a lower level than he could/should. He's going to leave one day and if Bilo and Maxwell are ready to step in to compete for the jersey, plus we have (e.g.) a bit more quality higher up the pitch I'm ok with that.

Didn't Nicholls sign a new contract beginning of last season? Would you sell him if that money isn't going to be invested? I certainly wouldn't. All signs at the moment are pointing to player sales going towards running costs. I'd rather we kept our better players than weaken the team anymore.

Yes, he has 3 years left so we have no rush to cash in. At some stage though we'll probably lose him. Note - I wouldn't want him to go cheaply. Silly money or he stays. My main point though was that signing a solid back-up is no bad thing. If Nicholls' injury last season had occurred a few weeks later we'd have been screwed.

I'm looking for us to sign Bill Murray and an Andy MacDowell because this is like Groundhog Day coming on here each morning and still no signing.

Well that's fine but I don't get my kicks following town from looking at the balance sheet, I get them from watching the football on the pitch. You weaken the side and the football suffers as a result. If the football suffers the crowds dwindle and the purse strings are tightened even more. At some point the team needs investment, after all isn't that what it's all about?

You want a prediction about the transfer window, you're asking the wrong Phil. I'll give you a transfer window prediction: It's gonna be cold, it's gonna be grey, and it's gonna last you for the rest of your life.

I can confirm the post about the Examiner quote "Warnock won,t be relying on striker to get goals" We might as well not bother then , after all he has Ward and Rhodes not to rely on.

Billing linked with a move away, could be a bit more cash for us. Linked with Atalanta, West Ham and weirdly Bury

It was me that made the comment and I stand by it. The finish for the actual goal was something Rhodes would have done in his prime, but not any longer. He set the move going from just inside the Watford half, taking the defender out of the game, laying the ball off and then making the run into the box to finish at the front post. Not sure who else you think we've got who could have done all that?

Would love Rak-Sakyi, 15 goals 8 assists in league one isn’t to be sniffed at!

I think Saturday will give us a clue. Two games (1st team and B) against the best opposition so far and fans having to pay. I’ll be interested to see the make up of the 2 squads and any trialists in either game. Where and whether Rowe, Mahoney and others be?

Only at Huddersfield Town. Still Summer, still have an open transfer, recruitment window. ? Keeper was needed and we have a decent one. Not sure that bringing a keeper in either stops or interferes with further recruitment of outfield players?? Maybe dont recruit anyone until the striker is landed??? Highly counter intuitive at best??🤪
