I believe that we all thought that we needed 3 to 4 players to improve the first team this year. We started with a clearout of who we could get rid of and a host of squad players. In response we have signed two backup players The window is still open

Some fair points but I would note that Mr Nagle's "success" from Town might not be in a direct financial return from HTAFC but what he might be able to leverage from Town e.g. be successful in England and generate more investment for Sacramento. Over time we will see what his model is and judge how "successful" he has been. I do think we are guilty of "talking ourselves down" and setting the limit of what the club is capable of sustaining. There is no reason why Town can't aspire to be more successful. Success attracts people and who is to say if Mr Nagle is successful that he can't pass the club onto a different investor with more financial clout. I don't see any benefit in taking Town on and trying to make a few bob, I have to believe there is a wider aim. With regard to ticket prices I think it is invitable that prices will increase, in line with the economy in general. How people perceive the value of that cost will depend directly on what they see on the pitch. This was ever thus. If however you don't believe in your potential you will never realise it. As I have said many times before belief costs absolutely nothing. I wasnt talking the club down so I hope it didnt come across like that. Im just struggling to see the enormous potential they mention when for a club our size we're already running at a pretty high level in terms of support. 'Potentially' we could establish ourselves in the PL..as could lots and lots of other clubs. But realistically thats very unlikely to happen without some significant investment ( think of Brighton for example ) If hes not prepared to put in that significant investment ( maybe he is, maybe he isnt ) then Im not seeing where this potential is really, unless we're extremely well run ( Brentford ) I suppose, and I think you have said this here, it is that we could be a Brighton or a Brentford. I do think there are some, and I am definitely not putting you in this bracket, who have seen us as punching above our weight (and not capable of better). It is true that a level of investment is required but I would note that NW, Jake Edwards and Cartwright will be of a level that attracts a competitive salary i.e. it doesn't suggest an approach based on a cut priced budget. It is too early to say of course but that is why Mr Nagle and team need to be judged in 18 - 24 months time. As we both know have a few poor results and that won't stop people being sceptical and focusing on immediate apparent narrative. As for this transfer window: We know how NW works, we have seen it before so you have to trust him to identify characters he thinks that will make the group better. We can't change the FFP regs so if that means we cannot spend massively we have to work within that limitation - it is what it is.

Not sure they're £40M+ in debt and owned by someone who doesn't really want to be there and funding an ongoing deficit 😗😉. Since when were we 40m in debt? Thought the debt issue was sorted with the takeover. Unless I missed something. no you havent

Didn't we once have a player on loan called Hamilton? Des. On loan from Newcastle. He made Dwayne Mattis look like Jude Bellingham. The former Bradford City player IIRC. Some wags I used to know dubbed him "Lady Hamilton." when he played for Town; they weren't impressed by his prowess.

I presumed he was making comparisons to last summer when we lost at Wembley, then sold O'brien etc, etc. I was. Unfortunately you don’t get to choose when you move forward and that was a big chance.

100% have him, always scores against us 4 goals with 1 assist in 6 games against us, impressive. Not as impressive as his 7 in 7 against Villa though. Knowing us we'd go in for him and end up signing the other one at Charlton 😂

No offence but my Gran could get a hat-trick against him and she's been dead 10 years.

We can't change the FFP regs so if that means we cannot spend massively we have to work within that limitation - it is what it is. Brighton are £300M in debt. Football clubs at championship level lose lots of money. Even really successful ones like Brighton. Mr Nagle will surely be well aware of this so the motivation is very interesting. Surely owners are in it for the kudos. None of them can be expecting to MAKE money?!?!? There is the opportunity to build something very special I guess, an asset to the community, a viable commercial concern around the ground, a good old traditional club punching above its weight in the best football league in the world and everything that could potentially do for its owner and his other interests. Making money though is not going to happen, not directly anyway!! Never, ever ... even if Warnock gets us promoted as champions with the smallest wage bill and tiniest squad the championship has ever seen! I guess American owners perhaps see clubs like ours as one small step away from a league that's light-years ahead of the MLS, as I understand it to enter the MLS would cost hundreds of millions of dollars. So I guess whatever he wanted for SRFC he can potentially get for Town at a fraction of the price, again though the big question is whats the motivation? Maybe the opportunity to acquire the stadium and land around it at a knock down price as part of the club? Maybe he is able to offset losses made with Town against his other business interests in the US? I've no idea if that's even possible with an overseas club but if it is then it could be a nice perk on top?
