With new owners I think it's important they bring in atleased one player the fans can get excited about. Doesn't matter if it's a free transfer or loan, just a player the fans can say they're looking forward to seeing play. Edwards and Maxwell may be steady squad signings but far from exciting.
I think once the premier league teams come back from their US summer league then they'll start releasing their younger lads on loan. Hopefully we've got our eyes on one or two that can improve the first team and give us some exciting attacking options.
I understand the frustration but I think some is OTT. The window is still open until the 1st September. If it closes and we still haven't improved the team then the fans will have every right to express their concerns but we'll just have to be patient in the meantime.

Some of the people on this forum desperate for signings have the same attitude as my wife when buying dresses. She's got loads of dresses, but then another one arrives in the mail from Toast or Boden or suchlike. I remind her that she has a wardrobe full of very nice clothes... they do the job and they look good on her. But... and here's the crux, the acquisition is a NEW dress, so it makes her feel better even if she doesn't really need it. We do need it though. If your wife had 1 decent dress and it broke would she be happy wearing some dirty rags? |

Exactly, I thought he would be perfect, purely looking at his footballing attributes, but look at his injury record, supposed attitude and his likely wage bracket and you realise we don't half simplify things as fans, and from that sometimes it accounts for unrealistic expectations. |

I’m slightly worried we seem to be following pattern relying on certain management companies. |

He shouldn't be replying to plums on twitter. Save your time What I find bizarre is that don't people think that NW, with all of experience, won't know where our weaknesses are? Surely if NW was concerned that there wasn't any intent to get new players he would say "sod this, I'm off to fish". It might be difficult to get the players we would like, for a number of reasons. This debate looks like starting an agenda of "no confidence" in the Nagle era before it's begun. Let's also remember the ink on the Nagle takeover is hardly dry and people are already storing up the ammo to throw if (when) things go awry. Staying in this league and setting a platform for the next 2-3 seasons is what this season is about for me. I haven't seen anything yet that worries me we can't achieve that. If this is where some, and what I would consider sensible,fans are starting from what's it going to be like if we don't have a great start? We need to get real and give the new team some breathing space. |

L'Èquipe reporting that we've made an offer for Maxime Sivis, a RB at Guingamp. Wouldn't qualify for a GBE work permit here but might for an ESC, don't know anything about him though.

I know nowt about this chap, but I question why we'd be in for a RB when we've just signed Edwards. Agent talk? Maybe we were in for him until we got the Edwards deal over the line? |
