Looks like Keiran Phillips to Exeter according to twitter. Didn't he have a stint there on loan a couple of seasons ago? Good move for him if true.

Josh bowler heading to cardiff on loan. Even a team under a transfer embargo is spending more than us. Absolute piss take this. 😴 Why did you delete your posts about Frank Magri?

Looks like Keiran Phillips to Exeter according to twitter. Still injured isn't he? Did he play any minutes for the B team this pre-season? I live in Exeter nowadays, be good to see him some more. Exeter had Jay Stansfield on loan from Fulham last season, I'd be happy to take him on loan this season.

It’s fucking West Brom not Barcelona! West Brom are in financial difficulties, have not been pulling up any trees since they got relegated into this division, oh and guess what.. their town isn’t paradise either. We now have a new owner/project with a manager (albeit short-term) that is proven to get the most out players careers, and can therefore put Maja on a good path. The financial situation is obviously one we lack clarity on right now with how deep Nagles pockets are, how much he’s willing to invest and also how restricted he currently is with FFP. But for a free, we should at least be gauging Maja’s wage expectations and looking to entice the lad to come. This constant berating the club is so boring.. as a fanbase we love to moan that we’ve been labelled as the underdog internally for too long, yet the same fans love to moan about everything that is potentially wrong about the club and how the grass seems greener everywhere else.. Yawn. Agreed. As I said earlier, I think he'll have better options available to him than either ourselves or WBA. So what? 9 times our of 10 that might be right, but it's worth trying for that 1 time in 10 when you're not. There are always signings where you think, "how did they pull that off?". They pulled it off because they tried, and there was something about the club that appealed to the individual player. This 100%. That's the kind of thought I had when I heard we signed the Japanese defender.

Seems to me Mr,Nagle has brought in a lot of people to do nothing but find clubs where we can send our {not ready for the 1st team} players. And sign no one in particular, who are cheap as chips.

Aye - the likes of Coady, Colwill, O'Brien, Nicholls, Toffolo must all regret coming!!! Massive expectancy at WBA - lots of big names on big wages but theyve done nowt for a couple of years now and am not sure there is any better than here for career progression - other than if the team succeeds. As for no incentive to join - ask NW why he's done it then? He doesnt need the money, the hassle nor would he have signed on again to have zero backing. Everyone is rightly concerned with the lack of depth - but lets be honest...........how many of the exiting players would you have wanted to be mainstays in the first team next season. Also - the window now extends to the end of this month - we are amongst the group waiting for bigger clubs up the foodchain to decide who and where they want to send fringe and young players. I suspect our team come Oct might be 2 or 3 different to that which takes the field on Sat - and thats without injuries. But the town is still a shit hole? Nope - the town centre aint great........but not unlike many others and nothing wrong with many of the surrounding areas imho.

I don't think they can pay fees for players at the moment. Bowler played well for Blackpool when he was their player, but did bugger all when he went back on loan last season.

Bit of a special situation at Cardiff, they are under a fee embargo whereby they can't pay a fee for either a permanent or loan signing. Deets are here - www.efl.com/news/2023/june/efl-statement-cardiff-city/This applied to Jan 23 window and this current summer window. After appeal they got the conditions relaxed for Jan 24 window whereby they'll be able to spend on signings at the next window. So everyone they've brought in has been either a free transfer or loan without a fee upfront. Impressive business with their hands tied all things considering. I'm sure we'd all be happy to have had Grant, Meite, Ramsey and Bowler in the door. But wait we're supposed to have faith that we'll be fine come the end of the window.

Always makes me smile that other clubs signing players are considered to be strengthening their team / squad but when we sign a capable player in Edwards it's 'Stoke City reject!' Also, am I the only one to see an anomaly in the comments that 'all the championship teams are strengthening apart from us' and separate comments that 'standards in the Championship are falling'?

Oggy and Glennon would have a panic attack saying that name though.

Most people consider that this years championship will be the strongest in a long time, just look at the sides that have come down! I think its fair to look at the business teams have done around us and be a bit worried that other teams have got stronger on paper whilst we have stood still (if not weakened the squad). Off course these signings won't all work out but looking at our own window as it stands with 4 days to go to the season, it is hard to have anything positive to say.

Exeter to Swansea is also a well-worn path…… 17 goals with 9 assists for Exeter last season. Sounds like Charlton tested the water with £500k earlier in the window which Exeter rejected. Only 12 months left on his contract so Phillips could be a sweetner in any deal?

84 pages for a backup keeper and a left back on loan....
I watched one of the interviews with Warnock, does anyone else think that his body language seemed a big off? Didn't seem his usual jokey self and looked a little downbeat.
Maybe I'm reading way too much into it, but does anyone else get the impression that maybe Warnock took on the job thinking things would be a bit different?
That and the comments very early in the window about us trying to sign a striker but not being able to compete with wages.

This is exactly the kind of speculation that leaves us angry and disappointed when we actually sign an electrician’s apprentice from Dulwich Hamlet in the final hour of the window. Do we never learn?!?

Also, am I the only one to see an anomaly in the comments that 'all the championship teams are strengthening apart from us' and separate comments that 'standards in the Championship are falling'? I'm sure Edwards will play a useful part and is of a role we desperately needed some cover given the Turts injury. And Maxwell is as experienced backup as you could likely get, way better than the likes of Schofield. Happy enough with these two. Forgive me though for being a little nervous when (including loan players) we've let north of 15 players with at least "some" first team experience go out of the door. That figure is closer to being doubled (30!) if you include the entire released list of reserves from the 22/23 retained list and add everyone who's left since either by transfer or loan. www.htafc.com/news/2023/may/202223-retained-list-confirmed/I cannot wait to be proven wrong once the window is closed but with the start of the season only 4 days away and the perceived improvement at other rivals in the league, I am struggling to come up with anything positive to be excited about. I see it as a race, yes there's a long way to go and yes there's time in the window left for us to improve significantly. But we're not helping ourselves by making the squad as thin as it is. Two or three key injuries and we're in real trouble. I really hope we get something positive out of the first game and not get pumped by Plymouth. Don't want to think what here is like if we don't.
