No idea what comparison you’re drawing - I don’t know how the two are comparable. The difference being we went to a survival camp in Sweden on a team bonding trip and weren’t training. This time we’re at a training camp. They’re training at an agricultural college. Not even at a purpose built facility. Yes that’s true. Maybe I was imagining the key rationale for the West Country trip was team bonding (and that might deliberately involve roughing it a bit?) They’re hardly roughing it, the facilities are better than Salendine Nook HS / New College, and they would make an equally appropriate base for pre season.

I realise there is a cliche about beating what’s in front of you but, bloody hell, Bodmin look like a pissed up Sunday morning team.

This looks like an exercise in composure and communication. It doesn't matter if you are playing the best team or the worst team, you need to understand where your team mates are going to run and how they want to receive the ball. There were a few times in that video where Koroma should have buried the ball in the back of the net and it looks like Neil wants to get the players comfortable in taking their chances.

Don't care how Sunday league they looked, no keeper was saving Ruffels.

Like to see this squad tested properly with a friendly against a premier league club and think they would do well as squad seem very fit and organised
There can be no bigger confidence booster than scoring 9 goals against any team and doubt the Bodmin fans had witnessed anything before like this mauling
Very enjoyable to watch from start to finish and you can hear the appreciation mainly from around 100 town fans in what was a a packed fairly small main stand

Promotion is ours after tonight, surely? Just seen the score and stuck a ton on us winning the Champion's League this season. Save your money. I’ve just seen an alleged copy of UEFA’s bank statement. A good chance the trophy is heading to Manchester this year… 😉

The Bodmin team at least know they played a league squad that wasnt taking it easy or taking the piss. Its a result that was maybe likely to happen if we were committed to it. Well done to Neil and the squad.👍

Nice to see Sorba Thomas looking happy. If he stays and plays that's a bonus. I thought Koroma and the other strikers looked good - I'm not bothered whether or not we sign the lad from Wigan - give Hudlin and especially Harratt a try first.

Appreciate it was against a pub side but happy to see Pat Jones back on the pitch with some minutes, took the 8th and 9th goal well and looks sharp. Setup a decent chance after the 8th with the drop of the shoulder and beating the fullback for pace. Good signs this early into the pre-season. There's a talented baller in there and hoping he gets a chance in the first team next season, good backup to Josh most likely.

The second half, when we scored 5 goals, not one player was over 24. In the first half we only had 4 who were. That was a very good performance by a young team. If they can grow from these games we could see some very good football this season. I know what a gulf there is between Bodmin and the Championship but that could have been well into double figures and they kept going right to the end, no letting up. Very encouraging.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned on here before but does anyone else think that -effectively- two competitive friendliest is a bit light in comparison with what lots of teams (and certainly Town in the past) have?

I think all 5 are competitive. Just different levels. I’m not sure how 9:0 can be described as competitive really. Builds confidence, allows different players to get the feel of how NW wants to setup, gets them all away on a bonding trip, lets NW see who can do what he wants them to, which he didn't have the luxury of last season. What would you prefer and what level of teams do you think they would benefit from playing more?

All we were trying to work out at Bodmin was if we could get 10 goals in what was the most one sided game i have ever seen The one thing it did was improve fitness levels as constant possession from start to end

This may have already been mentioned but the 29th July will be exactly 10 years since we signed Hogg so even tho Heerenveen isn’t being billed as such, I imagine it will be a Hogg celebration day
