I’m not angry, disappointed or anything towards Kevin Nagle but it just pisses me off. I’ve grown up on the magic of football and that anything can happen at 3pm on a Saturday. However, the magic has well and truly gone. That isn’t a HTAFC thing but a football thing.
The last few years has seen any hope be extinguished at Town and going into this season, I felt a sprinkling of quality down the spine of the team could transform us, not into champions but a team capable of bloodying the noses of richer clubs. That is all I want for town.
If we have one of the lowest budgets in the Championship that is fine but it appears this budget is so low we literally cannot compete in the league. If so, come out and say it and we reset as a fan base when we inevitably meet our level. This talk of spending money next year is bullshit. If we are looking to be financially self sufficient then this club will never compete in the Championship as serious finance is required just to stand still. If anyone Googles Preston’s finances over the past 10 years to just be thoroughly average in the championship then I’d love to see how Nagle can argue against this

This got deleted last night I despair with this type of trolling. I would hope that Nagle would take as much notice of this as I would...none. There was more too it but I've not been sent it. Apparently he said it was factually inaccurate that we'd missed out on 4/5 players and that the squad was good enough. Challenged over lack of striker he said we'd signed Burgzorg. The kid told him he wasn't even playing as a striker and Kevin replied that that was up to Neil.

I’ve just been watching 10 mins of the big match revisited.
Simpler times…
Hopefully some people can calm down a bit on social media, at least I hope that’s the case.
Let’s hope Neil gets a tune out of the lads today to send us into the break a bit more chirpier on here.

I think this is how it is going to play out. Warnock walks, Nagle is not prepared for the backlash that he is going to get as a result. He gets pissed off with the fans and puts the club up for sale. Meanwhile on the pitch, results go from bad to worse under whatever cheap Manager Nagle gets in. We get sold to whoever wants to pay money for a league 1 club with a disgruntled fan base and some expensive Championship overheads and limited assets in terms of Players that can be sold for good money. To be fair our overheads have been chopped back to the bone.... someone mentioned we must have the lowest wage bill in the division I'm not sure how easy that would be to find out.

Didn't see the whole thing so it's hard to say but he said that Kevin had blocked him afterwards. Not that hard to believe it is genuine to be honest...
Kids twitter account is now on private

Kids twitter account is now on private I don't think Kevin would reply with capital FUCKING to be honest. I don't know the man well but for someone who has achieved what he has in his life I doubt he'd be daft enough to lose his rag and commit that to text, replying to someone with terrible grammar. It's very easy for people to knock up this fake tweet stuff.

The other factor at play is Nagle is 68. Whilst I’m all for building properly and not on sand…he’s almost certainly not going to be owner for a significant length of time like Hoyle was.
Surely any plan for success has to happen reasonably quickly on that basis alone, he surely can’t be thinking I’ve got 15 years here to enjoy some success?
And he can only surely be in this for a shot at glory/success? It’s literally the only reason anyone would get involved at a football club outside the big 6!

I am sure that the new incumbents, Cartwright and Edwards are being very well paid, so perhaps the time has come for Chicken to stop copying and pasting stories from old press conferences and do some proper fresh journalism.
Can I suggest that next time Chicken is at Canalside, that he invites Cartwright for an interview about his first two months and why the transfer window had not gone as fans hoped for?
If he turns it down the invite then we know how much contempt the club has for the fans.

This got deleted last night Jesus, why is the owner of our football club arguing with our fans on twitter 🤦🏻♂️ - stuff like this worries me in the longer term. His tweet after the game was also pathetic. You can’t not back the manager then go crying to the fans when things aren’t going right cos we haven’t got enough quality. Please stay off Twitter Kevin. Do Q&A’s by all means.

I think a couple of factors are really important here.
The absolute blinder Warnock pulled last season, Nagle has taken it a bit for granted. Both in terms of the quality of the squad (thinking it’s better than it is) and how hard it is to win games in this division. Not to mention handling Warnock through a transfer window. It adds a completely different dynamic.
Also I think him owning an American team has been a hindrance not a help. The championship in America versus England and the requirements, expectations, competition and expense involved. It’s not a closed shop with no threat of relegation. I think they’ll be able to move at a slower pace, and academy lads don’t need to be that good to get into the first team.

My take from all of this is that we all know that the takeover was completed in a very short space of time. Due diligence on a business deal should take months not weeks but it’s not just about the finances. He’s reliant on Baldwin and NW to advise him about football matters yet even with this help he can’t possibly grasp what British football and the competitiveness of the Championship is all about. In his position I’d be inclined to get over to the UK for at least a few months, study the history, study the other teams strengths so he can truly understand what we are up against.

Someone on here said that Dean Hoyle would only sell to someone that wouldn't put as much into the club as he did to protect his legacy ,at the time I thought what a load of bollocks! I'm not so sure now Hence JJ Moores not getting a look in

I'm not so sure now Hence JJ Moores not getting a look in My belief is that Dean's ego is big enough that he puts one thing first every time: himself. I obviously can't speak facts about the takeover but I'm convinced that there has to be a reason why £40m was 'written off' - whether it was desperation, an unexpected twist. The ruse around administration, the fact Nagle bought us in 10 days - it's all bizarre and gives me no confidence that this was done for the good of the club. Coupled with the theory that Hoyle wouldn't want someone exceeding his own achievements... none of it bodes well.

Think it’s fair to say that warnock may have been stretching what was actually true in order to send a message to Kevin.Basically a message saying by all means be on twitter but don’t be criticising performances and results on there. There will have been truth in missing out on players but he was maybe be economic with it when stating contributions of these players the previous week. Essentially it’s if you criticise me don’t expect me not to say anything back.

Complete apathy, not just for HTFC but for football as a whole. It has to be hands down the most brazenly corrupt sport in existence, and my interest/enjoyment in watching it peaked ages ago, and is now at an all time low.

We'll eventually discover that Kevin's a hell of a lot smarter and genuine than all those who are accusing him of being naive, or skint, or uncommitted, or disingenuous, or whatever else they want to throw at him just because they didn't get what they wanted on deadline day.
