A phenomenal player.
Very sad news, probably because deep down we all dreamt of a 35 year old Mooy ‘coming home’ to play the Barry Horne role as a deep playmaker, pinging passes around like Pirlo in front of our back four. It would be the ultimate sign of our renaissance.
Good luck Aaron, you gave us memories we couldn’t even imagine.

Never forget the expressions on those sat around me the first time we saw Mooy. People literally sat there with mouths open in disbelief. Never forget how he used to swerve his body to create space. Always in control of the ball. An absolute delight to watch and best ever imo. Exactly this. Me and my brother did similar. Then it was chin in hands pure amazement. Classy graceful elegant could hit a ball like a bell ringer, and always played with a smile on his face. Pure enjoyment seeing him play, and im sure he enjoyed it too. One more year Aaron?

Just as I remember George Best slide tackling Willie Clarke in the January mud and rain at Leeds Road, so I recall Mooy also doing the less glamorous parts of the game. Last minute of time added, 1-0 down at Reading, 10 men since RVLP's first-half sending-off, Mooy's orchestration of a Town siege on the home goal unavailing, and the ball breaks to their guy just outside their box and a clear run up the pitch. Our last chance gone. But Mooy wants that fucking ball back and somehow gets to him, tackles him and sends a final ball into the box that unfortunately no-one can get a touch on.
Hoggy was Aaron's ratter, but the Bald Prince could rat too.
We can't expect to see his like again.

When I go on the club website to view Aaron's best moments, it says watch below but there's nothing there to click on - is anyone else getting this?

Recollect seeing him play for Australia in friendly v England, didn’t look out of place and couldn’t believe I hadn’t heard of him. Think he must have signed for Man C just after. Couldn’t believe we managed to get him on a season long loan and moreso signed him permanent. One of the best players since Jimmy Nicholson IMO, and not dissimilar in style either.

Great that we got to watch him in his prime, can see him making a killing in the after dinner circuit.

Not so sure Terry Jacko, always came across as a rather shy and wanting to avoid the limelight
