Well that seemed a strung out totally pointless and dull episode compared to the first one 🤷♂️
Think 90% of the first episode padded with 20% of this one would have made a much better opening episode.

Feels to me like the first 2 episodes are actually episode 1 split in half. If Netflix or another streaming platform were to take it on then the episodes would probably be around an hour. I reckon we are seeing the pilot split in 2, dragged out over a period of weeks to give Nagle chance to secure a mainstream platform to produce the whole series. Just an opinion.

Forgot the football, I'm more interested in the photos of Dylan and Hendrix on Kevin's wall. He has them all along his watchtower apparently. He had one outside but it got removed as it was blowin’ in the wind.

A phrase that is utter bollocks. We aren't. I think you're in denial then FFS I think you haven't a fucking clue what a giant then. Just because your hero said it doesn't make it true.

Funny title - surrounded by Giants. TThe subject of the larger teams around us (none of which I would say are particulary giants (sorry Massive) - us not really being surrounded by the Manchester teams) never really came up. Then I thought they were referring to the Giants fans - nope not that either. An odd title. I just think they picked up on the phrase used by Dean Hoyle in his bit. Hopefully, once Kevin Nagle has had more direct interaction with the fans he'll realise we're a bit fed up of the club being talked down - the surrounded by Giants is just another example. The sooner some of you chaps get your head around the fact we're a small club the better. For most of the past 54 years that I've been watching Town we haven't been well supported. Back in the 70s there were regularly c.3000 crowds. Not exactly a sleeping giant. For most of the past 54 years we've also been dross and always in the shadow of Leeds Utd. Get over it and you'll enjoy being a Town fan a lot more. Fuck em all anyway. UTMT

Just because we had a period in time with low crowds and league position that isn't indicative ox our entire history. Perhaps we should judge on more recent times like the last 10 years? What would our average be then? Small club my arse.

We’re not a small club, but equally we’re not a big club, a la Man Utd.
The PL pumps this big club mantra because it’s marketing.
Back in the day Man C were way behind their neighbours for a long time, Chelsea had a spell in the doldrums.
We’re a solid, well supported club that sits below a few clubs in our region, but also sits above others.
Not sure why people get so het up about this. We’re not a club that has a waiting list for tickets, over subscribes our 24.5k capacity etc., but not many clubs are in that position. Leeds do well because they’re a one city club, if they had a rival in the city they’d lose half their support.
Don’t look at Town in terms of size, look at us in terms of history and that for so many people we’re still a great club.
It’s like penis envy on here some days…
I’m quite happy with mine…

History says we are just short of being a top 30 side, which in my book is nowhere near being a small club, if you want to use attendances as a benchmark! fanbanter.co.uk/how-englands-top-four-divisions-look-based-on-all-time-average-attendance/

Prepared to be proven wrong, but I reckon there's zero chance Netflix, Amazon or Apple are picking this up, its nowhere near cohesive or polished enough - even with the tantalising thought of Neil Warnock's charisma for future episodes. I think the production company work mainly on corporate video rather than stuff for a mainstream audience? The "How To Buy A Football Club In 10 Days" idea is quite compelling, but to string that out over more than 10 days in itself for 35-40 mins or so of footage (with at least 15-20mins being total filler) over two episodes totally dilutes the urgency and excitement of that story. Beyond that, its interesting for Town fans and I'll definitely be watching future episodes, but outside of us, there's likely very little interest in this not just globally, but even in the UK. We aren't a player at a globally interesting giant like Man City, KN isn't Ryan Reynolds, and its not as though we have a boat load of currently unheard of youngsters who will emerge on the international stage next summer when Chelsea and Spurs snap them up. If anything, someone sees the club are willing to have flies on the wall, and budget gets thrown at a UK based production company to come in and make a Neil Warnock "One Last Year" documentary...with nothing seen until after the season. But even then, ideally that would need to be happening already and have taken in pre-season for the 10mins that would provide etc. Maybe it is 🤷♂️

This is in nowhere near the realm of Netflix standard work and people are naive to think any streamers would be interested in its current form. It's a decent standard internal piece. But you're right about what it could lead to. Warnock and an eccentric American owner: potential for some incredibly entertaining content ie Sunderland. Unfortunately that entertainment usually comes when you're the butt of the joke.

UTMT 20th in the domestic major honours. 29th in the all time league table. 35th in the all time average attendance. 14th for the largest ever home attendance. Top 30 club by all major parameters. This small club mentality is pathetic and factually incorrect.

Not sure I’d want Town as a Netflix or Amazon series.
It’s football, not fecking Hollywood…
The game needs a thriving support base for the clubs, not millions of subscribers gawping in at clubs they know nothing about.
Reality TV does football, not for me…
This current offering is as far as it should go and is quite informative as to the process and learning a little bit about the new owner. If you serialise this you have to be prepared for the inevitable shitfest that will follow if the team have a bad season.

Negotiations ongoing with Netflix according to Kev. What on earth is the angle going to be there that's not already been covered by Sunderland, Wrexham, or the Warnock documentary? Even as a town fan I can't see much going on that'd be of wider interest

I think we have to accept that things will be done very different from now on. Americans have a totally different perspective to British people and more often than not, they get it right. There is clearly a massive interest in the USA in football and apart from Town fans, this will clearly be aimed at an international audience especially the USA

Even as a town fan I can't see much going on that'd be of wider interest Last season on the other hand was box office! I guess the process of buying a club out of the blue and quickly is of interest, plus the link with Sacramento. The history of HTAFC and the legendary Neil Warnock means it could be of interest to a wider audience if done well. The publicity could help the club for sure, as long as it's positive!

The story about the takeover is interesting and is far more than you’d ever see in most cases, but just leave it at that please.

I agree, I think Neil Warnock is the big pull here. Would imagine for it to be entertaining it would need to have some insight into his methods and team talks. Neil Warnock is an institution within football, I'm sure plenty would be keen to document his last hurrah.

Again, don't care if I end up being wrong, but Netflix would have zero interest. They may have been interested ahead of the fact in doing a 3 parter on the takeover, but the Youtube series has covered that already, and the second episode has had half the views of that opener, why on earth would they show the same story again.

Teams are having to get creative with how they generate revenue and the sport will continue to become more about "entertainment" as this is what will drive revenues!

It would almost definitely be a season-long fly on the wall with it being Warnock's final year of management, combined with a whacky American bloke buying a very traditional English club. I agree it seems too late in the day now, but the story is actually there - however they'd almost definitely be looking for it to go disastrously wrong, or us somehow get promoted. It'll certainly not be the latter and probably not the former. They'd just take control of the rushes from the UTT thing and make it a 15-min sequence at the top of the first ep with shiny new interviews. Would work fine.
