Warnock not utilising Rhodes was his biggest failure during his tenure. Quite baffling really. We had a premier league striker (not currently starting) lined up in the Summer. A name, a Player that would have had 15 goals by now. An ex-neighbour who wanted to come here and thought it was a done deal. On big money, yes but what a Player. The club pulled out at the last minute. Welcome to league one you fucking dickheads. Are you aware of why we pulled out? If not, shut up

As much as Rhodes might not be the long term answer he is quite simply a better option until the end of the season than Harratt or Hudlin. Only if we're making chances, which we're not. The rest of his play outside the penalty box has always been poor. So you think Hudlin or Harratt are a better option than Rhodes? Not saying Rhodes is prime Batitusta but Harratt and Hudlin are extremely poor. Especially Hudlin, woeful!

It was a case of let's sell or loan out anyone we get offers for in a desperate attempt to raise money for a striker NW and every Town fan knew we needed.

Of the 3 I'd like to see Harratt get a run of games. He's a (very raw) cross between JR and DW.

You can only imagine that whatever the issue with Warnock was, it was identified during the window and the purse strings slammed shut for the next manager.

I think it’s fair to assume that Warnock had couple of targets that were lined up but the club didn’t back him. He had already made other transfer decisions Rhodes, Holmes etc. Then the club changed their minds. Why ?
What changed ?
The next person that has a “cup of tea “ with Nagle needs to ask that question.

Not linked with a single player if I remember rightly. Responsibility lies with the CEO and DoF.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, I am of course a massive Warnock fan, I don’t though think he handled the Rhodes situation well. Let’s get him back in January. Perhaps Moore (thinking of Koroma) will play him at right back. Let's sign a Championship striker instead. Shouldn't we do both though?

The problem isn’t his age (I’ve lost count of the times his lack of pace has been mentioned, even when he was younger), it’s service. Give him chances in and around the box, chances are he’ll put a few away. It really is that simple.

I remember when they framed the Wiles fee as extraordinary, I felt that was an exception rather than the rule. Couple that with Nagle’s tweet about how money doesn’t equate to success, plus saying he was “shocked” at the fact that we lose money, I see no way we will be spending what we need to in January.

Give him chances in and around the box, chances are he’ll put a few away. It really is that simple. Totally agree with this. He left Blackburn at the time when just about every club in football decided it would be “fashionable “ to play just one man up front. As a consequence his output suffered ( we all know he isn’t effective in that role) and this is why his career faltered . He’s a natural finisher, gets into space instinctively and even though he’s now operating in a league below, he is showing that he still has these skills. I bet secretly, when we saw our last line up at home, everyone of us wished Rhodes had been in the team. Obviously not a long term solution but we need him back in January especially if the club, for the umpteenth time decide that we don’t need to bring in any new forwards capable of operating at Championship level. There have been many ridiculous decisions made in recent years, sending Rhodes out on loan , given the weaknesses in our squad, is right up there with them in my opinion.

Last season, Rhodes scored five goals from 28 shots in the Championship.

Kieffer? Not if the player would've had 15 goals by now. Yellow and red cards, maybe but he's only got 15 goals or more in a season twice in his career and one of those was in League 1.

I mean 15 goals by mid Nov is some going for anyone, especially with our style of play! For what its worth I think Moore would be ideal for us

Who was the player? If ex-neighbour means a fellow Yorkshire club, the below fit and seem fairly plausible: Moore Woodrow Wood Brewster

Maybe it was Haaland and the club pulled out when they realised it was Alf-Inge
