Can anyone shed light on what this question and answer below actually means? Kevin almost seems surprised the club spends more than it earns? Are we aiming to become the only team in the league that don't lose millions every season? Q:" How is FFP going to affect the club? KN: " We inherited a lot of debt. Most of it has now gone away. We took the new budget, which actually has more expenses that it has revenue coming in. We have to fix that and bring dollars into the club." Agreed, it’s quite worrying. I think with his new Senior Management team and various due diligence they'll know the score financially and expect loses. I mean I doubt Jake Edwards would quit a job in the US if he felt this was a mission impossible There seems to be money otherwise I doubt Warnock would hang around I have confidence that people very familiar with what's happening out of public sight are joining the club; Edwards, Cartwright (both left jobs to join), Warnock (came out of retirement)

Agreed, it’s quite worrying. Nagle has said many times that he wants the club be run in a sustainable way, which I applaud, but as I mentioned above that will mean a dramatic increase in turnover to be able to compete at the top level. This can obviously be done in a few ways, but the most obvious would be to increase income by just selling more stuff, merchandise, food/drink etc. which in reality wont bring millions in. The other option is via player sales, buy cheap & sell high, which IIRC was the same ideology as Hoyle. This is obviously much more a long term way to increase income and involves us front loading investment to bring players to the club. It can be done of course, look at Brighton, but as pointed out they weren't spending £50k on players, it was more in the millions so we'd have to be prepared to lose money in the short term to gain in the long. As I've said I've no problem with running the club sustainably, it should be applaudes. My worry is that Nagle maybe thinks it will be easier to do so that it actually is. Football is a fine balance between the here and now and the future and you have to make you are competitive in real time or things like relegation can happy and quickly scupper all the plans. Reading the Tweets from last night's Q&A Nagle spoke well and said the right things, but as always the proof of the pudding will be in the eating. Never mind that, how did the fight go ?

Preston are wearing Castore kits this season they are £60. Maybe it depends on the team, Wolves shirts are £60 but Villa and Rangers are £70. Town's are £50 It seems to - Mansfield's are a "mere" £45. Castore is quite an interesting company - what they are proposing to clubs is much greater flexibility and shorter lead times than the big guns: ‘A speedboat in a market of oil tankers’If we are getting involved with them, it wouldn't surprise me if Sacramento are doing the same based on KN's comment last night...

Farthings went around 1959 I believe. I can't be arsed to look it up. I barely remember them, I was 7 back then. I think it was about 1954 but also cba to check. I remember having these, not using them though? i reckon left circulation early 60's?

I wonder how many clubs' chairmen are doing what Dean Hoyle (and Phil Hodgkinson) and now Kevin Nagle are doing... putting themselves out there amongst the fans, to answer questions. I'd suggest that many don't even give half hour long interviews/podcasts to the local paper either.

Reading the Tweets from last night's Q&A Nagle spoke well and said the right things, but as always the proof of the pudding will be in the eating. I'm not even sure you can make a club sustainable in league one, I guess you could tread water in that division if you did everything else really well but that's the limit. My hope is that by 'sustainable', he means the club needing to be propped up each year by an amount that ensures we don't breach FFP. He must surely know champ clubs dont make money... ever ... its impossible. Building the income streams then means that the £5-10M per year or so that is needed goes a lot further and can be spent on building a competitive squad and buying players to add value to. I guess he will want to avoid talking figures at all costs which is perfectly understandable, I'm just slightly concerned he may actually think the club can be run as a normal business that doesn't lose millions each year (surely not!). Also slightly concerned by the talk of a Town v SRFC game and who would win! Probably tongue in cheek and he's not going to come out and admit that Town are playing in a league several classes above the USL. So Q&A all done but we've still no idea whatsoever about the budget this year or in the ones to come! Don't get me wrong, everything else which was said is really positive, I think he is understandably playing his cards close to his chest and we still dont know why we're bound to a budget set when we were looking at L1 football this season and by a reluctant owner who understandably didn't want to keep chucking money at an asset he only owner a minority share of. Looking forward to tomorrow! Be good to see the changes and hoping we can somehow get some sort of result, or at least not be embarrassed.

Did anyone actually ask if he looked at the bab on the toilet paper after each wipe, we need to know these things, we cant move forward as a club and as fans if we're kept in the dark.

Might be different in Sacromentos case but Im pretty sure that the MLS have a league deal with Adidas that covers all the clubs. They all seem to be Adidas anyway. Guess thats possible with them all being franchises.

Basically he is in it for the long term investment which could be anything from 2 years onwards. Growth will be funded from income from both the club growing and other potential investments in the area. Short term he must have thought he was buying a L1 club, most of us thought we would go down. So he is going to do all he can to preserve our Championship status within financial constraints. Which is what I believe he has said all along.

Buying the stadium outright brings all stadium income to the club. Giants pay Town rent etc. Sacremento buy more expensive players than we are allowed to buy then loan them to us. Those maybe one way of inrcreasing income and one reducing ffp threat ??

I might stop supporting a football club and just buy a Goldman Sachs . Saturdays would be pretty dull (they’re probably shut) but the fan’s boards would be full of people celebrating their prudent management and balance sheet…which seems to be the most important thing these days.

Our new owner said all the right things at his q&a and respect for doing that.
This is a question - not totally my view - but I’m 70-30 swaying towards it. Loads on here will say “get a grip”…”drama queen” etc.
But it’s an opinion on a forum.
Has Warnock “pulled the wool over Nagle’s eyes?”
We have a very weak squad and seemingly missing out on potential targets. Defeat tomorrow- we know it’s more than likely - and the pressure mounts.
Remember this is a forum before I get abuse hurled at me just because I chose to post in my own name- rather than some silly fake name.
Always UTT.

Besides, other than if you believe Warnock is only interested in his own paycheck, why would he want to pull the wool over Nagle's eyes. It's normally in a manager's interest to underplay what they have.

Is it just me who enjoys Town being utterly garbage as much as us being good?
Bang average would be dull as dishwater.
The highs of 2017 were unbelievable but the lows of 1988 & 2003 were just as much of a spectacle. Football is about camaraderie, passion and having a laugh. If you can’t enjoy an unknown Yank appearing from nowhere to buy the club, deciding to hire a 74 year old club legend, selling everyone worth over £20, being challenged to a bare knuckle fight by a fan on Twitter before trying to peddle behind the scenes coverage of us selling Dwayne Holmes to Preston to Netflix then this club ain’t for you.
UTFT!!

We finally got sold by Dean Hoyle. Footloose, fancy free and all set for the future. We then do a documentary on the new owner to celebrate this brave new dawn and who do we get to narrate it? Patrick Stewart? Reece Dinsdale? The woman who was Dr Who? No! Dean Hoyle!! It’s utterly crackers.
The last time we had a new dawn we signed Dwayne Holmes, Will Boyle, Danny Ward & Jordan Rhodes. Who the hell turns a fresh start into a 2012 reunion? Us, that’s who.
Everything we do defies logic. How are we staying up this year? We’re upgrading our academy to sign a bunch of 7 year olds from under the nose of Stan Rowlands.
Don’t worry though, we’re trying to replace pies with Marston’s chicken. We won’t win many games but our protein intake will be second to none.
It’s great. Enjoy your weekends everyone.
