Relatively happy with the signing but I’m a little cringed out by the fact that the club are going big guns to say that it’s a ‘significant’ fee; between 1-2 million seems to be what he’d cost and the fact that we are hyping that up as ‘significant’ concerns me. If that’s significant then I dread to think what our version of average is! giventhe tightest restriction we are working under it is significant!!

Rotherham fans: .... Trust us to sell to one of our potential relegation rivals ,we still have nothing come in and we sell one of our best players leaving us even more short of quality , unless we get maybe 4 or 5 quality players in at least (Not injury prone old men or one's not even capable at this level ) then we are going down, not just down but bottom , can someone explain to me how Luton managed this league with a smaller stadium and surely no better budget ! .... We have lost one of the most talented players at the club, he could play in multiple positions and with both feet it is a very sad day. I wish the lad all the best, it is such a shame that he has gone to a relgation rival but warnock is no fool and I bet they have a bargain. A lot on here will be happy but will then moan that we are short of players etc, some will say that at least we got a fee, I suspect the fact it is undisclosed (so many of our deals are, I wonder why?) the fee won't be anything like what we should have got and yet again our amazing asset management skills will have not been in our favour. I hope we have at least got a good sell clause. We can't come to a deal with him yet we are reported as paying plyaer X £10000 A WEEK unbelievable. very disappointed in the way we are running the club in terms of playing staff at the moment. Are you sure you didn't copy these from the DATM transfer rumours page?

If that’s significant then I dread to think what our version of average is! When have Town ever spent over £2 million in the championship? I'll give you a clue. Never. Fairly sure Wells, Schindler and Marcus Stewart are the only 3 players we've signed outside the prem for £1-2 million. So I'd argue that it is significant (if it is £1-2 million anyway) People moaning we're not paying fees and we're skint. Now moaning because the club (rightly) says we've paid a significant fee. As you say, we've NEVER spent over £2m while in the championship so anything over £1m is significant for us IMO.

Rotherham fans: His head dropped when Burnley approached him, maybe his time to move on and prove himself to be better but it is sad to see him go tbh Good luck lad but DO NOT SCORE AGAINST US .... Looks like a player that has the ability/ willingness to break lines, something we’ve not really had since Palmer/ Brown. These kind of players can totally transform sides. Im very excited about this signing, well done Town!

By my maths, only the 5th player we'll have spent £1m+ on while we've been in this division. Ever. Marcus Stewart, Nahki Wells, Christopher Schindler, Isaac Mbenza. We tend to be pretty frugal with our transfer fees, so any seven-figure sum is significant investment.

But you're right - I hadn't even thought of him when I did my list. Even so, only 6 players ever bought for £1m+ when playing at this level (plus one in League One and umpteen in the Premier League).

Looks like this guy will be able to take over from Hogg but give us more going forward, judging purely from that highlights reel. Seems like a canny move, MUCH better to invest in someone with potential to make us good money than loaning some young lad from the PL that will be gone by May. I don't think he's a Hogg replacement. That player is still needed, unless Kasumu picks up form and maintains fitness.

You generally need players these days that can offer a bit more going forward, at least with our sort of budget it's better to go for all-rounders.

So he is injured and not due back until late November early December. Do we know what injury he has sustained. Not having a moan. Just wondering how he has passed a medical when obviously injured.

I don’t care one iota how much he cost. Encouraging comments from Rotherham fans about him. Experienced at Championship level and at an age where he can still improve. Brilliant signing imo.

Less than half a page and we’re right back to the money discussions again… Honestly, give the club a fucking chance will you… No doubt opinions will again focus on money as soon as we see how he performs. There will be no middle ground as usual, it’ll be: “He’s shit, we were robbed, I bet we only paid £200k, not £2m” or… “What a steal, worth every penny of the £m’s he cost us” Indeed. He's a player that Burnley failed with a £2m+ offer last summer - they don't make too many bad judgements. It's Rudoni's job now to put on a show and retain his place - cracking bit of competition for that spot, in the same way that Koroma has to keep delivering if he doesn't want to see Burgzorg steal his starting place - whilst buying another season for us to manage Pat Jones intro to mens footballer a bit more carefully. We obviously still need someone more of a goal threat than Danny Ward up top, and it would be good to have some real competition for Sorba and someone who can play when Hogg eventually breaks down, but...the thought of getting a front 6 that includes four or five of Wiles, Burgzorg, Diarra, Thomas, Koroma and Rudoni on the pitch at the same time does look like a pretty aggressive set-up, with Helik and Pearson providing a pretty sizeable heart to the defence that allows us to get away with Ruffels (whose done perfectly ok) and Edwards whilst we wait for Yuta and Turton to return, with Headley and Jackson obviously champing at the bit as well. The squad is SLOWLY improving beyond the 9 or 10 players you'd want to rely on that we came into this season with.
