Excited by this one, I think he will turn out to be the player we thought Kasumu was going to be. Combative, great engine but quality on the ball. Well done to all involved

I don't think he's a Hogg replacement. That player is still needed, unless Kasumu picks up form and maintains fitness. I'd imagine in Hogg's replacement we wouldn't want an exactly like-for-like. You generally need players these days that can offer a bit more going forward, at least with our sort of budget it's better to go for all-rounders. Appreciate that, but he still wouldn't be a replacement for Hogg. Wiles is more an 8 and Hogg a 6.

Very happy with this signing, he’s looked very decent for a few seasons now and I seem to remember we were linked with him before. Obvious from his interview this is a big move for him and one he’s not made lightly. Hopefully exactly what we need.

Impressive compilation vid. Pace and goals from midfield is something we haven't had for a while... Looks like O'Brien but with added passing ability and goals. Was going to say he looks like a better version of O' Brien.

I think he will really suit the way we play under Warnock. Strong and quick with an eye for goal. I hope he is fully recovered from the ankle injury last season. Sounds like he was disappointed that the Burnley move didn’t come off. Hopefully the move to Town under Warnock will reenergise him.

All the Wiles, upon the field of play... Wow, stole that from me. How do you sleep at night.

Thrilled with this one tbh as I think he's got "fan favourite" written all over him the way he plays. Well done to everyone at the club for making this one happen.

This lad is a good signing and it is not all about how much we spend, it's betting the right player at the right price. Back to the Pritchard comments earlier, absolutely bang on with that!

If I was a Rotherham fan I'd be fuming that they had sold him to a direct relegation rival.

This looks to be a really good quality signing. 24 years old, highly rated and would have been in the Prem this season if bids for him had been accepted.
All of a sudden, with Del also in the equation, we look a lot stronger. Now for a striker!!

Well done to all involved Perhaps he will help Kasumu play his role. Absolutely this, all of a sudden we have someone who should show as a simple option for Kasumu (once fit and IF he can displace Hogg) allowing him to focus on his strengths as more of a disruptor/ball winner, and then Wiles can drive us forward or pick out attackers better.

The midfield had got a bit pedestrian so another option of bringing the ball forward is always welcome. Now we could do with a really savvy striker to get into good positions to put them away. Rhodes coming off the books should hopefully free up a space. Ward can drop to the bench if we get someone in that can naturally finish. Maybe give Harrat a few starts in the meantime?

Looks exactly what we need. Someone who can grab the game and push us on, and dig in when we need that too. I can see a lot of our current squad raising their game playing with someone in this role.
I like that he can beat a man too. In the modern game which seems to be so forensically planned, having a player able to take their marker out of the game as you progress up the field can be a game changer. We’ve missed an O’brien scampering past people in the middle.

He was Rotherham's best player when we drew 0-0 at home during Covid and they battered us in the second half. After they'd hit the bar, had a seemingly good goal disallowed, and drawn a tremendous save out of Ryan Schofield, Wiles had their best chance in the 90th minute. I'd watched the entire half through my fingers, cursed our inability to stem the tide and then just when an unlikely point comes into view, their best player is bound to win them the game. Anyway he muffed it and it may well have kept us up, as we finished the game still 8 points ahead of Rotherham in 22nd, but they had 3 games in hand. If Wiles had scored it would have been only 5 points and we were tottering from side-to-side like Crisp in the 1973 Grand National.

I know the gap between The Championship and The SPL is huge and I’m not sure of Neil’s budget (everything is so undisclosed and secrevite at Town) but Lawerence Shankland of Hearts scores for fun wherever he had played in Scotland, but he also scores in Europe as well, so maybe a worthwhile look at Shankland as well as Martin Boyle of Hibernian across the other side of Edinburgh as well as he also knows how to find the net and possibly has more pace than Shankland who is more renowned for his poaching prowess and expertise in that particular sphere... I know The SPFL Premier League seems laughable but something is better than absolutely nothing in my humble opinion !

Not a player I know much about, but some of his passes in that highlights reel are sensational. Admittedly, this conclusion comes only from a YouTube video but seems to have a little bit of everything. Looking forward to seeing him play.
