If CC was here last season we wouldn't have needed saving. Corberan had an unbelievable squad to pick from. A squad that no other Managers of recent seasons have had the pleasure to be able to pick from. Factor that in with your observations. 'Unbelievable squad' in relation to that lot is the most ridiculous thing I've read on here in a long time

'Unbelievable squad' in relation to that lot is the most ridiculous thing I've read on here in a long time It wasn't as bad as people made out. At the start of the season, a lot of people kept saying it was a "League One squad", when it clearly wasn't. Seemed to me that people were just saying that to try and make Corberan out to be a superstar (as usual). I'd say it was a better squad than what we've got at the moment.

Erm, no he didn't lol. He took a bunch of bang average, largely underperforming players and came close to achieving a miracle with them. And then got tapped up by the Forest owner and left us right in the shit on the eve of a new season. Citing some lack of investment bullshit. Oh and we backed him when so many clubs would have sacked him with his diabolical record to start with. So forgive me for not joining you in the Corberan fan club / appreciation society. I have no idea how there are any members. But clearly you are. Calm down petal. I was merely stating a fact that had he stayed, we wouldn't have been fighting relegation. And the 'lack of investment bullshit', wasn't bullshit. Infact it's the same reason Warnock will probably walk, except if he does, I highly doubt he will come in for the same mindless vitriol as CC.

Bit hypocritical from you that. I seem to remember you wishing me and another family member dead on here a couple of years ago. Before you deleted it in the morning, presumably when you'd sobered up.

WBA have played Swansea, Boro & Town at home, 3 of the bottom four & took six points & a point at Beeston (like bottom six Cardiff & Wendies) .....Baggies fans are not full of hope especially after yesterday, CC could be gone well before Xmas.

It was definitely better than we've got now, no doubt at all, but that doesn't take much. I'd say I would've had it down as a bottom 8 squad at the start of that season.

They wouldn't be able to afford to pay him off, they're up shit creek financially. I could see them going down if they do that to be honest. Incidentally, I met a West Brom fan a couple of weeks ago who said Corberan was 'the only good thing about our club at the moment'

I'd be careful what they wished for! Took them from bottom in October to within a game of the playoffs! Started this season reasonably under the threat of financial trouble with all the squad up for sale in the transfer window! Given all this, who else could do a better job? Whilst we may not like Cc for what he did to us, he is a v good manager at this level IMO!

I find the hate for Corberan very strange. A man, who if fat John Moss wasn’t such a c***, may very well have taken us to the prem.

A squad that no other Managers of recent seasons have had the pleasure to be able to pick from. Factor that in with your observations. Out of the 10 players from that squad who are still here, the only 2 who've played better since Corberan left are Koroma and Ruffels. Would you rather 2023 Lees, Pearson, Nicholls, Ward, and Thomas, or their 2021 versions? We all know the answer. And out of the players that've since left, how many of them are performing at a higher level than they were that season? Sinani was a key part of our playoff team but couldn't get into a relegated Wigan side last season. Sarr was also relegated and now in a payday retirement league. Russell is half arsing it in League 1. Colwill has stepped up as we knew he would (but that's nothing to do with Corberan's coaching of him). LOB and Toff haven't shown themselves to be better than top end Championship quality. Holmes oddly has been a big hit at Preston but I can't see that lasting. The common denominator here is that they all performed to a higher level when Corberan was manager. I think the man's a maungy pillock, and I took a lot of joy in seeing him lose yesterday, but he did an excellent job that 2nd season.

Coventry were below them & did make the play offs, 52 points from 30 games (90 points) maybe should have done better with squad available to him.....Warnock's record; 25 points from 15 games (very similar), Robins next up for a revenge beating from the maestro.

Corberan is a top manager for me, a tactician rather than a man manager but he knows how the game works. That doesn’t change the fact that he treated our club and us as fans very badly, considering how we’d backed and supported him.

Yes Coventry were below them but had 2 or 3 games in hand because of their ground issues, and had an established manager and one of the hottest strikers in the league! West Brom won one in 12 before he took over! Look, it's up to WBA what they do, the point being that their last few managers(Ismael, Bruce) have had good players at their disposal and done nowt! Cc more than stablised them and they would be daft to get rid IMO but wouldn't be surprised if they did and appointed another dud!!

They just benefitted from the usual "post-Steve Bruce bounce" that every club he manages seems to have these days. Look at Villa, Newcastle and West Brom in the immediate aftermath of his departure.

In recent history we've scored some crackers against West Brom. Curling 25 yarder from VLP, Mounie blast, Tino last season and the two strikes yesterday 👊

Nice to get some revenge after getting robbed there a couple of seasons ago. It took a daft penalty to separate the teams last season aswell.
