Bollocks. It’s just NW covering himself and saying ‘nowt to do with me’. He will be saying next that the mistakes made by Matty Pearson are because nobody is interested in buying him. Just covering himself from criticism!

Just covering himself from criticism! Are you suggesting it’s Warnocks fault that these players are making mistakes? If so that’s just weird.

Nicholls had his head turned probably by the Luton runour. Warnock said "Nicholls was walking around training with his mobile phone in his hand",... boy has Warnock mellowed!!!

I reckon replacing Clem was probably a bigger issue for Nicholls than some half arsed rumours about Luton, given that they had a close working relationship. No idea what Bennett is like as a coach but bringing him in struck me as an odd move at the time. The goalkeeping department wasn't the issue, so if it ain't broke why fix it? Especially given it was clearly at Warnock's behest, and he's sodding off at the end of the season anyway.

I get that NW would want his own man, but it doesn't really make sense when he's only here for one season (or less!). It's not as though Clem was crap.

Clem wasn't replaced he left of his own accord to join up with the rest of ex HTAFC coaching staff at Norwich. Bennett was brought in to replace him

Go back to the start of last year to Birmingham, Bristol, Reading and Preston and Nicholls made a howler in each game. He then sorted himself out and got back to it.
This year has been no different so far and hopefully he does the same and gets back to it. Blaming it on the keeper coach is nonsense.

He'll be ecstatic now, after his interview last week about needing more players in 🙄

For what it's worth Nicholls hasn't actually played poorly this season, he's just made three mistakes that have been punished, his all round game has still been pretty good.

Mr Nicholls won’t suffer from having a new coach. He’s a special player.
Did anyone notice him standing on the half way line in the 2nd half last night, geeing up his team mates.
He’s much more than a keeper for us.

He’s much more than a keeper for us. I did notice also v Rotherham he spent close on 10mins trying to get some instruction/direction from the technical area and visibly showing his frustration. Ideally whatever changes are being made will benefit him. Super keeper, won us a point the other night, and arguably gained us two v Rotherham. If we had a striker as comparatively good, we'd be in the top six!

I didn't see much evidence of him and Ian Bennett being a good pair, his performance dropped and things like you've mentioned didn't bode well. Hopefully he'll hit it off with Basso straight away and he can reach new heights

I can for sure let him off a couple in 3 years. He amount of saves and other aspects of his game that are top level for this league. 2 out of his 3 years the club has not exactly being settled, i think once everyone settles down again he will get his form back. He is a huge influence at the back, the mistakes do not seem to have shaken his confidence. Therefore i see once the club settles again his form will be back to its usual.

There’s been a few comments suggesting that Nicholls hasn’t benefitted from the brief time Ian Bennett was his coach. I never noticed Bennett on the touchline (maybe I just didn’t see him) in Town games.
I saw Doncaster Rovers at Sutton last season when Bennett was at DR and he was very active on the touchline bawling out instructions to the DR goalkeeper. Maybe NW didn’t want IB doing the same at Town?

Anyone would think it was Clem F.C.
Never known a goalkeeping coach be put on such a pedestal.
If Nicholls was sulking because a coach left then that's pretty pathetic.
