We've had some great keepers at Town, very difficult to compare. Poole, Lawson, Starling, Vaesen, Harper, Francis to name a few.

His passion, his reactions, his time wasting, his shithousery, his reaction against Stoke when he came up to the halfway line after their 2nd goal and pumped everyone up. I love him

Just watched the Coventry game. Noticed how he ran behind the goal to retrieve the ball when we were a goal behind. The guy cares and has become a talisman for us.

I think I've just seen him at Sainsbury's. He drove off in a tesla so it would make sense if it was him.

Seen as though this threads been bumped can I say what a world class save/reaction to lees flock on at the death Wednesday. I sit/stand in the south stand so was right behind it and it really was top drawer reactions!

Also love how involved he is with everything never shuts up or switches off. Makes mistakes granted but has really come back better after injury/drop in form etc. most definitely because of having genuine competition for the jersey in maxwell and chapman. Long May it continue.

I assume he caused a massively long queue at the checkout as he played for time getting his wallet out! He's like our very own GKing version of Robbie Savage. Occasionally a proper shithouse. Everyone must despise playing against him, with antics. For us, I find it sometimes amusing, sometimes frustration, but he knows how to bide some time to try and kill a games momentum. It's funny sometimes to see him wasting time away winning 1-0 or so, but moment we're behind hes a rocket up his ares and moves like Usain Bolt. P.S Agree with a post earlier, the tip over the bar from Lees miscue clearance, but also when he came out to close the distance when they hit us on the counter attack after Dela got dispossessed to tip the ball past the post!

His shithousery is superb. I love his antics. You'd absolutely hate him as the opposition.

Completely agree. After being booked for time wasting he probably wasted more time, even kicking the ball away! I guess he thought am Going to be sent off for time wasting twice.

Best keeper I’ve seen at town (followed since early 90s) and a great character as well. Would love to see him as our number 1 for years to come.

There's a guy behind me who seems to lump on Matos and Nicholls to get booked every game.
He was fuming on Wednesday with Matos smashing through players and ref seeming to just let him get on with....a Town fan shouting, "thats three times now ref, BOOK HIM" is quite amusing to witness, with lots of confused faces staring at him...and then massive celebration when Nicholls gets booked late on!

Anyone read in the program an interesting point from the captains column. Lee Nicholls praising Bennett stepping in as caretaker GK coach who had know him from joining town. Lee seemed to make a dig at prev GK coach. Bennett had helped him regain his confidence which was removed under the last GK coach.

Interesting that he’s more confident but playing worse, he’s had his worst season since he’s been with us.
