It makes me wonder who is looking after these kids and what exactly are they doing to help them How about taking responsibility for your own actions? He's 21 FFS not 12. The lad was given everything plenty help after the last incident. He sounds too much under the influence of his ‘father’ who he has said is more like his mate than a proper guiding influence. Coursing and gambling has been a way of life for them both as long as he can remember.

Could I please remind everyone of Harry Toffolo. A very, very much loved member of Huddersfield Towns first team squad and fan favourite during his time here from Jan 2020 - July 2022. From January 2014 - March 2017, between the age of 18 and 21, he placed 375 bets on football matches. Including 40 bets on his own team, 15 of those against his team. At the time he was contracted to Norwich and played on loan at Swindon, Rotherham, Posh and Scunthorpe. www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12961971/harry-toffolo-nottingham-forest-defenders-poor-mental-health-accepted-as-mitigation-for-betting-breachesThere seems to be a lot of similarities between the 2 cases. Toff turned out to be a fantastic player and model pro. Becoming a fans favourite during his time at Town. Perhaps we shouldn't rush to "Get Rid" of Kian just yet...... Third post on this thread suggesting he's got talent. When has he ever shown he's got anything like the talent needed to be successful at this level? Or even in the lower divisions, his loan spells have been poor to say the least. Get rid, his attitude stinks. Not sure where in my post i suggested he has talent. I’m saying that Kian has done pretty much the same as what Toff did at the same age in terms of gambling. So maybe we shouldn’t get rid just yet as Toff turned out alright. Hopefully Kian will turnout alright as well. Quality strikers are like gold dust. Not saying he will be, but it would be great it he does

Bad egg this lad. I was told by a very close acquaintance (I won't disclose how close they are to him) that he's bad news. A reason he was top scorer in Barnsley academy and released.. Top scorer in leeds academy and released. He has ALOT of distractions and bad influences. Fucking any chance of a decent career.

I think the FA have been very fair in this. Although a life ban would have been morally difficult to justify, it was an option that was legally available to them. He can count himself very lucky. Or very unlucky when you see what Toffolo got for betting If you read the FA report, he's bloody lucky he's only got 4 months. If you bet on A match for your own team the ban length starts at 6 months and he did it multiple times. He could easily have received a lifetime ban for the bets he placed, especially as he admitted he knew it was against the rules and was banking (betting 😉) on not being caught!

He knows the score (or maybe not!). We should dismiss him. How many more chances!

I was on the side of "be lenient against a young pro who has yet to establish himself", but seeing this bit is incredible...probably should have his contract terminated if thats allowed. Be surprised if he's not quietly offloaded this summer, never to be heard of again.

Maybe he is the key to deciding the future chances of his son’s footballing career.

If he put £250 on each of towns draws this season he will have earned about a month or less of extra wages. A bit of a f*#king risk no?

I feel quite sorry for the lad. It’s not his fault where and how he was raised (if rumours are to be true).
Whatever your perspective, it’s OK for some toffs to chase a fox using dogs, but Kians a criminal if his dog chases a hare. He’s also not the first and won’t be the last to get done for gambling in football; I don’t see many condemning Ivan Toney for being supported by betting companies whilst betting. But, because he has previous, I feel like he’s been judged a little harshly by some on here. *Some on here that will be looking for streams for the game on Sat. And some that may have been arrested for disorder at games.
He’s. A young lad with time and cash on the hip. He needs support. He probably needs a fresh start. But let’s not take it too far.
*im not making accusations of anyone in particular.

Top scorer in leeds academy and released. He has ALOT of distractions and bad influences. Fucking any chance of a decent career. He really improved under Warnock, helped him to focus and improve, all leading to scoring a couple of very decent goals, especially the first one, it was top class.
He needs a mature mentor, a father-kind figure to keep on the straight and narrow.
So many young men are missing such positive influences these days, and it's worsened by social media, rap-crap, gangs, etc.
As a society we need to older / mature men to help steer young men in the right direction. Yes, it needs volunteers to do charitable work.
If we don't do anything positive ourselves for society, just consume and exploit, don't even look after our parents or kids and prefer to outsource them to third parties instead of working our bollocks off to try and maintain nuclear families, then it's hardly bloody surprising that many of the younger generation don't have a good example and feel alienated and turn out bad. As the old saying goes, we reap what we sow.

Problem is we have other young lads coming through, sooner or later the club will have to cut their losses on KH to set the example to the rest of them.

Falls couldn't even get on the pitch at 4-0 on Saturday. If a striker can't get 10 minutes when a game is sealed, they are obviously never going to be good enough. Harratt, for all his flaws, has shown he knows where the net is when he gets a chance. Hopefully this has learnt him a lesson and he gets the advice and knuckles down and has a successful career.

He’s a bag egg for me too.
We all make mistakes and he’s not the first to have a bet…
His poaching days haven’t been knocked on the head either…
He’s doing his best to throw a promising career down the pan.

Football sold itself to the bookies years ago.
I reckon half the pro’s in the country place bets left, right & centre.
This making an example of the few daft enough to get caught if hypocritical nonsense.

The hare coursing I don’t agree with but I know it is sport for some folk. Once he was caught and convicted and the club stood by him he should have learned. Due to his family’s influence he messed up at Bradford and once again he should have learned. I feel we have too many young players who need to have a firm set of rules to help them mature into decent young men and footballers to risk players like Harratt in the dressing room. I would use it as a reason to let him go. I think it is a lesson he needs.

I’m not going to comment on his upbringing - plenty people with better and worse
He’s made this latest error whilst 18-20?
Its not the first time he’s made a big error of judgement etc but it’s not like this is something he did last week
As others have said he needs a fatherly figure around him - it’s a flaw in our jumbled up coaching set up if he hadn’t had that (I don’t know) but still only so much they can do for him
Warnock definitely gave him that - he had him focused and working his socks off. Or perhaps more to the point had Jepson focussed on him?
This has to be make of break for him - he’s only 21, he should use the time to get fitter, stronger than ever and hit the ground running pre season
Enough senior pros in this squad to help / mentor etc but end of the day it’s up to him

The hypocrisy of it all. Football rakes in millions to promote the gambling industry. Wherever you look around football you're being told that gambling is good. And when, shock horror, one young player is actually affected by that (a total of around £8,000 over 4 years) he's hung out to dry.
Shameful. If we don't want gambling in football, let's target the real villains. The greedy old bastards who can't say 'no' to the industry's bribes. "KH feels that the ubiquity of gambling sponsorship in football adds to the normality of gambling, and particularly following a specific gambling sponsorship campaign involving Huddersfield Town FC in June 2019."
