He appeared quite an isolated figure in Austria, he wasn't the usual lively energetic guy you've seen in stuff the club have put out in the past. I spoke briefly to him as I've been his shirt sponsor in the past and he was quite reserved, understandably really. I think Nantes/whoever have been pissing about, so he's not been sure about what's going on. I think (but don't know) that the club have forced Nantes hand by playing him yesterday to say either sign him or we play him. It's time to go, everyone has a shelf life at any organisation in my view and he's got to the end of his at Town. I hope he rediscovers the 21-22 Sorba who was a great player wherever he goes. He was great with me and my lad when we met him. Something has changed for him, and maybe a new environment will bring him back to how he was. Nice you think positively about the guy, not many do

Fans have been shouting Nantes at Sorba for about 18 months... Looks like he was listening. Keep up at the back! đŸ¤£

Keep checking to see if he’s gone, the drinks are in the fridge waiting to be opened in celebration.

Expensive couple of days (inc Simpson move).......Even when on 'special offer' we're having to give them away.

Even if we gave ST away we’ve not lost money , we will of received a decent loan fee from Blackburn and he will still be under contract after this year . Bigger picture get rid of players who won’t contribute to a good team ethic . This lad needs to leave under all circumstances.

Can't pass, can't tackle, can't shoot, can't beat a man, can't cross from open play. Apart from that he'll be sorely missed.

Excellent post, you have taken out all the hair ripping and angst against a young man who always tried to go about his work in a fastidious and enthusiastic manner. I truly hope it works out for him in France. Someone else posted that they didn't see a position in the team under Duff and I think that is spot on. It is right that a team is built around a manager's tactical preference rather than building a team around individual players. Anyway, I would say all the very best of luck in France to him

By Alan Nixon
Huddersfield Town are ready to send Welsh winger Sorba Thomas to Nantes on loan in a shop window move.
The French side are keen on a deal for Thomas and were discussing a £1 million swoop but Terriers are willing to let him go for a season first.
If Thomas finds his form in Ligue Un he could be worth even more money and pay off for the Yorkshire club down the line.
West Brom also wanted Thomas but would not meet the fee and at a depressed time in the market the loan switch to Nantes appears the better long term gamble.

Is he a pain in the arse at times? Yes - but when well managed hes more than adequate a level above where we are now. I find it astonishing the bile aimed at sorba at times - particularly as he cost us buttons compared with the utter shite like sobhi, the sprint twins, pritchard et al and even wiles and Bojan more latterly. Good luck sorba for me - yes its probably time to move on.........but thats as much down to us as a club as him the individual.

I don’t have any bad feelings on Sorba. He really pi55ed me off with his attitude when he went to Blackburn on loan and it was all me, me, me, my agent etc on the Blackburn interview
However last season I thought the lad worked hard and was head and shoulders above a lot of hiders at the club
Think the championship has worked Sorba out now, with limited pace and dribbling ability limited, he’s more left to crosses deeper on field and our football is very limited when Sorba on the pitch (under Moore and AB)
A clean start on loan will help in another country to just help develop his maturity. I think the door remains open when he comes back. Who knows in football

The league is struggling to get a TV deal sorted, with the result being several clubs in danger of financial meltdown. Girondins de Bordeaux, historically one of the bigger teams, have just announced they're dropping out of the professional ranks due to financial problems and will drop to the third tier.

He's a dead ball specialist with not a right lot else to his game which makes things tough as a winger. If they've got some giants who love attacking set pieces then he might be a very good signing. If they don't then I predict he will spend a lot of the season on their bench

Not at all it’s a game of opinions and that’s what makes football so great. Folk saying he can’t head , shoot etc . Just opinions that are different to yours.

Bordeaux is mostly because of Gerard Lopez. Lille lost 350m under his reign, Mouscron went bankrupt, Boavista can't manage their books and now Bordeaux are bankrupt too. Plus a Formula 1 team. Man should be in jail.

Still in Austria Really strange. On a flight from Munich to Manchester on Thursday night but Town tweeting out a picture of him with the rest of the group this morning? Is it an old pic from a few days ago?

Exactly this, lad has been just about the only player who has created anything for the last two seasons and always busts a gut yet still gets stick from certain sections of the fanbase yet laud wage thieves like Danny Ward and dross like Hudlin and Simpson.
