Only top of the assists because he took every corner and every free kick.created next to nothing from open play. Stats big him up to be better than he is

I'm in the minority here for sure. This view will also come with pelters I'm sure.
Idiot or not, I think Sorba could and would be a major asset for us in League One.. Thus, I wouldn't like to see us let him go. Unless Duff has said he'd be ok with him going based on what he's seen so far, AND we've a more than adequate replacement in the day before he goes or the same day.
I want us to replace a lot of our players from last year for sure, but I'd want us to have their replacements in first.

I think it’s pretty obvious we aren’t letting him go on ability, the fact we are loaning him out indicates Duff and team think he’s a negative influence on the squad or has already checked out himself.

Don't think it's anything to do with that. He's on good money and won't be playing as he doesn't fit in to the formation. It makes sense to get the wages off the books and put it towards a position that needs strengthening. Just a shame it looks like there isn't a fee involved

It could be neither. His playing style and strengths doesn't necessarily fit that well in a 3:5:2.

Of course he could be a great asset in league one if his mind was in it
He could’ve been a great asset to help us stay in the championship too if his mind was in it…
Good luck to him when he moves on, he clearly will and in all parties interest it gets done sooner rather than later

The fact most of his assists aren't from open play makes his stats more impressive if anything. He's averaged an assist every 4 appearances over 120+ appearances, which is among the best of any player at that level over that period of time.

Surprised this hasn't been announced yet given he had a medical on Saturday and the deal between the clubs was already sorted

He may well be a dickhead and potentially a disruptor but he was one of the top two or three contributors for us, and gave his all in pretty much every appearance , arguably increasingly so in the desperate end to the season when so many of our players settled back into not pushing thet extra percent. We had some huge failures who were regulars last season, Sorba wasn't one of them from a footballing perspective.

All this bollox he doesn't fit into Duffs system, what's happened to the game?, a keeper stops the shots, defenders try stop the opposition scoring, midfielders pass it to strikers who attempt to score, how fooking hard is it?, modern footie is boring and dying a death unfortunately.

I think the majority of Town fans know this is not the reason ST has been moved away from the club........Taken out of Duffs hands from above I suspect?

Will be interesting if he has signed for Nantes. Might pop down and see him at Montpellier on 1 September. See what ST turns up.

I wonder if the delay is due to town finalising a signing to soften the blow somewhat.
With some fans becoming restless at the lack of transfer activity, it's maybe not a look they want that we see arguably our most creative player leave without anyone else being brought in.

I went to watch Montpellier v PSG the season after we signed Mounié, decent entertainment, although I couldnt work out how to buy beer in the stadium… Also remember both sets of fans getting to their feet whenever Mbappe attacked which was slightly odd.

Wonder if his departure will be met with the same outrage as Jordan Rhodes' departure last season?

Below source seems legit: Signed last night, first training session today. (Announcement once they've managed to confirm Thomas is, indeed, his surname)

Possibly Ballard?saints signed Diaz haven’t they now so possibly paves way for young lad to leave.

Surely we don’t need to have an incoming the same day the outgoing to ‘soften the blow’? If he’s gone, announce it straight away. We can await the next incoming when they sign, makes bugger all difference….

Not suggesting has to be same day was more suggesting i wonder if sorba is signed and sealed before we can ourselves complete on anything else.
