Surely we don’t need to have an incoming the same day the outgoing to ‘soften the blow’? If he’s gone, announce it straight away. We can await the next incoming when they sign, makes bugger all difference…. Course we don't have to but it's a move that many clubs make.

Best of luck but I suspect he’ll be back here next summer if not before.

I still find it amazing that fans are happy to see the back of our best player from last year. It's even more incredible that we've let him go on loan with an option to buy, not an obligation. We are the only club who manages to consistently undervalue our players.
Good luck Sorba, I personally hope he smashes it in the step up he's now made.

Also, are we allowed to believe the quotes from our Head Coach, or do we only listen to what one of the worst, if not the worst, manager in our club's history said before taking the coward's way out?
"Sorba’s attitude has been first class in the time I’ve spent with him, and even with rumours swirling around his future, he’s trained well and worked hard to improve. I can’t ask anything more than that as a Head Coach, especially as we knew the likelihood of him moving on this summer."

It was a slight surprise that French side Nantes came calling, but it is a good move for him and for Town, who could get a fee in the region of £4m-5m should he do well enough to tempt Nantes into making the move permanent.
Quote from Steven chickens piece about sorba moving to Nantes. That’s a very decent fee should they want him at the end of the season

For the statto’s out there, they will be disappointed he is gone. On paper a decent player but something just hasn’t been right for a long time. I hope he does well with this move and I also hope it becomes permanent.

Times change, payers come and go, some you remember some you don't. Sorba has been excellent "on the pitch" in his time at Town, so I am sad to see him go but wish him luck in the future.

Or Blackburn as a club where he did nothing? People can blame breitenreiter all they want but Sorba got 0 yes Zero goal contributions in the Andre period.

We need Sorba to at least make some impression elsewhere and for them or someone else to take him. We need to talk him up, Brietenreiter didnt.. Its called business..

At times he was brilliant. At times he was frustrating. A great crosser of the ball. I hope he rips it up.
Right that it ends for us now.
Many players have worn our shirt that didn’t give us much as Sorba did .

Just look at the points he gained (or failed to do). AB made any of our other recent cr@p managers look good. I dont think that any forward or wide player has ever in my time watching Town, had the ball in the oppositions half, often facing the last man, and done so little with that possesion, in taking on the last man, running at the goal or getting a shot away. The number of crosses put in to no Town player even being close to getting near it, must be dozens, probably more. I have never seen a bloke who failed to jump properly or win a header as consistently as Sorba and his defending just wasnt defending. Simply being in our half is not defending. The stars aligned under Corberan and the players and the tactics used for Sorba. I hope he does well at Nantes and they offer us enough to buy him. I dont know him personally, I have no interest in his personal life unless it directly affects the club or his ability or desire to play for us and I dont know if he was one of the players causing the alledged problems. I can state that I watched the team fall apart as a unit and as team mates on the pitch and it was clear there was unrest at best. We didnt have to publicise it, firstly because it was never in our interests to do so but mainly because it was bleeding obvious and the club from top to bottom on the playing side was at fault.

I’m not trying to go all xg and stuff but Moore got 0.01 ppg more than Andre last season and Warnock got about 1.15 so he’s hardly that much worse. Also the chief set piece taker going 14 games without an assist has nothing to do with the manager

I am doing well and am better than the club 2. The team is crap and I can’t be bothered. People love mentioning his stats but lack of effort in the last few home games specifically were there for all to see. And then to add to that he teams up with his little mate burgzorg to suggest they weren’t the issue with some cryptic messages, don’t think he ever mentioned being sorry for us getting relegated or a positive message for the next season. No he just tried to cover his own back. The famous saying is you win as a team, you lose as a team and unfortunately he is not somebody who follows that mantra

I doubt there'll be a pre agreed fee of £4-5 million

Marmite player leaves the club, cue pages of debate.
Whatever happened to wishing the kid well and moving on?
I’m sure that on a personal level he’ll be forever grateful to Town for taking a chance on him, so I’d expect to see him doing a h/t draw in the next few yrs.
Sorba and others know the fine margins in the game, they were 90 mins and some iffy refereeing away from playing in the PL, even if some would have been released had we won.

I wish Sorba all the best, I really hope he smashes the French league as I suspect it's Town that didn't want an obligation to buy, I think they are hoping he really kicks on & his value goes up & up.

Best of luck but I suspect he’ll be back here next summer if not before. He will be at Crystal Palace on 11th August for a pre season friendly. Hopefully the penny has dropped & he gets back to where he was a couple of years ago........Let the football do the talking.

I was at a charity event on Sunday and spoke with someone who, until last season, was relatively senior with the backroom staff. (Not naming names, so don't ask)
We had a really good long chat over a beer about all things Town, and I asked him about Sorba. I actually asked him by saying "please tell me he's not as much of a bad influence as we're led to believe" and he said "he's worse".
Basically confirmed that he thinks he is better than he is, walks around like Billy Big Bollocks and has a piss poor attitude. He did then praise his work rate on the pitch and said how frustrating Sorba could be.
No reason to disbelieve him.

Also, are we allowed to believe the quotes from our Head Coach, or do we only listen to what one of the worst, if not the worst, manager in our club's history said before taking the coward's way out? Or Blackburn as a club where he did nothing? People can blame breitenreiter all they want but Sorba got 0 yes Zero goal contributions in the Andre period. People seem to be fixated on Warnock's comments about Sorba... it's as if they've never heard Warnock talk before. NW was always the sort to take a "rough diamond" under his wing, and use tongue-in-cheek humour... but what it comes to Sorba there's no room for nuance all of a sudden. It's obvious even to those of us that like Sorba that he's perhaps not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and that at times he's not reacted in the best way to criticism or to things not going his way. But I can't recall him ever "downing tools" other than under Breitenscheiße when he was made the scapegoat for everything going wrong. Going and playing in France will probably do him the world of good, he needs to grow up a bit (what with having a young child now) and this will help. Whether he comes back a more rounded and mature individual with Town back in the second tier, or whether we end up with a sizeable fee without him joining a domestic rival, who knows... but as I see it it's a win-win situation for Town.
