Mark Fotheringham Carlos Corberan Due diligence has lacked a lot over the years. First season since Wagner I believe (hipefully) we have a manager and a group that will just do their job (the basics) and do what is required to achieve what we need.

Yes, it's refreshing to have a manager that seems to know what he's doing. Complete contrast to most of the arseholes we've employed in the top job over the last few years.

Poorly treated by Town fans most of who have no idea what they’re talking about re. Sorba. Good player for the club. Signed from non league and now worth over £1M. A lot of players have done less and been remembered more fondly but it is what it is following town in 2020’s. Seriously have you ever contemplated your the one who has no idea . Genuinel, take a step back and seriously consider you haven’t a clue. because you come on a forum sprouting your so called knowledge as if you know what’s been happening inside the club, I’d only. Lay off he’s gone and let’s move on . Saturday was superb move on and bye bye players who no longer play for town.

Poor Eddie youds what did he do wrong Is it just me that wanted to see Sorba play in this league Who would you have dropped for him? Sorba is one of the most overrated players to pull on the shirt. Don’t know, but if he was here, he would have played 100 percent Over rated ? I disagree, apart from helik, who else was better than him last season?

Piss myself reading the shit on here , massive difference between a big head who could have played for England and players who walked the walk and talked the talk than Sorba Thomas . Anyone who’s played footy at a decent level knows that you give certain allowances to the extremely talented but then you get the pricks who contribute to a negative team balance who also can’t walk the walk , that my friends is ST. I live HTFC and am delighted that lad is nowhere near our team . UTT. We will thrive this year and so glad negative influences like that are well gone. Every team needs togetherness folk who know fuck all about team sport keep spouting your shit. You seem really angry at people for some reason This board is about opinions Players divide that opinion, have you played football at a decent level or something? Cos you talk like you know something we all don’t?

Sorensen. Sorba is a RW or RWB - i.e. Sorensen's position. I've only seen him once and he did ok, but from what I've seen he's not a patch on Sorba. Although given the history here it's probably best for all parties that ST moved on.

It was good to see Miller drop his shoulder on Saturday and go past the defender - something that Sorba lacked in his game in my opinion - I don’t remember a time when he beat the defender with quick feet, going one way and then going the other leaving the defender flat footed. I hope he does well in France but I won’t miss him playing for us I must admit.

Don't understand the fuss. Folk must have read enough player autobiographies to know that a team is made up of disparate characters, but, come game day, they all pulled together. Folk can point to certain games where they perceive that ST was poor, but every single player had at least one poor game last season. No mention of bad attitudes about anyone else though. I can guarantee that whoever the leading scorer is this season, whatever their attitude in the dressing room, the fans will be behind them. Nobody knew what Frank or any players of that or prior eras were, because there was no social media, and fans weren't as needy to know all about everything. Sometimes less is more, and I firmly believe that applies to knowledge by fans about current players. I heard about Frank Worthington from my mum.One of the old ex-town players used to live on our street and a lot of the other players used to turn up at his house (I bet that rarely happens these days!!).My mum's opinion was that he was a bit bigheaded and when I was a pizza delivery driver 25 or so years later when he lived in Outlane,he never once gave me a tip and was usually pretty miserable when answering the door so I'm tempted to believe her!! Are we supposed to tip pizza delivery drivers? Never knew that!🤷♂️

Lay off he’s gone and let’s move on . Saturday was superb move on and bye bye players who no longer play for town. Sorba has been misunderstood in the past, there’s an idea of him that’s prevalent which isn’t a fair reflection of who he is," said Cartwright. "By giving him the opportunity to play in a top five league in the world abroad, he has the chance to explore a new challenge, to concentrate on his game and remind people of what he’s capable of on the pitch. Having signed a long-term deal with the club, he still has several years remaining on his contract with us. While we have worked with him to find a move this summer knowing it was in our collective best interests, having seen him improve so much since joining us and become an international footballer, we continue to value him extremely highly." Keeping a player who marked himself out as one of the top goal-makers in the Championship seems unrealistic from a footballing and perhaps a financially perspective, especially as he has an international career to think about. Coach Duff had a similar situation at Barnsley when Hungary international Callum Styles was part of a squad which dropped into League One, and wanted to stress Thomas had given him no problems during pre-season. Sorba’s attitude has been first class in the time I’ve spent with him, and even with rumours swirling around his future, he’s trained well and worked hard to improve," he said. "I can’t ask anything more than that as a head coach, especially as we knew the likelihood of him moving on this summer.

He was probably one of the most approachable players that's ever played for Town & (I bet) he would be really sorry to hear your experience of meeting him if he was alive......The only time I saw him get angry (more than once) was over the Tommy Smith version of why he didn't join Liverpool.

I've spoken to a number of players that played at Town at the same time as Frank Worthington, mostly the younger players from that time, but also some of his immediate teammates as well, and they've all spoken highly of Frank. Some of the younger players have mentioned how approachable he was and how good he was with them. A couple of them mentioned how he'd often come into the dressing room with a bag of his old clothes, chuck them on the table and let all the lads pick what they wanted.

Yeh, that sounds like Frankie, its a pity you didn't get chance to chat to him, someone I would recommend from those days (nearly) would be Graham Pugh who could easily fill half a dozen programmes. GP could put you on to Alan Gowling who he used to room with at Town......And probably be commentating/pundit at Bolton v Town for BBC Radio Mancs (if still there).

Gowling is another I've found difficult to track down, to be fair.

Adam Clayton signed for Liversedge yesterday… What a fall from grace. Couldn't stand the arrogant c***. Hardly a "fall from grace" - the bloke's nearly 36 and has over 530 career apps under his belt. He's probably grateful that his legs can still get him around the field at any level. No idea if he's arrogant or not as I've never met the guy, but I bet he speaks very highly of you.

However, when Martin Paterson belted him in training and the rest of the players applauded him, that tells you all you need to know about Adam Clayton.

When my dear old departed dad was coach at Town you couldn’t have met two more opposing characters. One quiet and unassuming and then there was Frankie.😊 They got on like a house on fire which I think tells you a lot about the sort of bloke FW was. Top man. Top men. UTT.

Wow, I never knew! Dennis Clarke mentioned your Dad in his interview (due to be published in a few weeks). "Every morning, Frank would take a ball out of Henry Cockburn’s bag, juggle it 10 times and then volley it into the net. And everytime without fail, Henry would say, ‘if you pull a muscle, you’ll get me the sack!’" John Dungworth also mentioned him in his interview, and his name has cropped up a lot in conversations with the likes of Terry Dolan, Les Chapman and Alan Sweeney. All have spoken highly of him and have told some funny stories. One involved Bob Newton in a reserve game where he went down injured, and your Dad came on with the bucket and sponge and just as he got there, Newt got up and ran off
